Woooow!!! Quite a crazy race there, super-close, 3-wide racing, and a pretty spectacular crash to finish it off! Makes me want to get into iRacing, but not without a nice sim setup... and unfortunately I don't have the space for it right now. :(
@casefc3s All you really need is a decent wheel, like a G25 or 27 from Logitech. At the time of this video I raced with a 25 on a desk, now I have an Obutto chassis setup.
@mengers06 I do have the G25, but I don't even have the space on the desk to mount it, or under the desk for the pedals. What's the Obutto chassis setup? I've been looking at the sim cockpits for some time, just kinda figured I'd grab a junkyard car and hack it into pieces for one. ;)
look at the noobs who were a few seconds back yet didn't slow down. Hmmm.... look there's smoke! Better stay at full throttle and 3 wide anyway! fail.
theres promotion with iracing right now where you can get a 3 month subcription for half the price and get the dallara and indianapolis for free, send me a message for more details
@mustang6172 You typically pull 220-230 in the corners and can reach upwards of 240 on the straights. This particular run I wasn't touching the speeds I was later in the practice, my top was close to 250.
too bad indycars couldn't run on talladega because of limits the human body holds. thats just toomany g's for someone to carry over a long period of time without a g suit. so i nsay G SUIT!!!!!!!!!!
@EaAddict360 I disagree, the IRL would have to lower the speeds like they do at Texas. The IRL could run at Talladega, but I'm sure ISC would block it because it would be a better show.
@EaAddict360 yea the shorter tracks do have more Gforces...The old CART cars 10 years ago used to hit 241mph, the drivers actually blacked out from excessive g-forces in a practice for texas so the race had to be cancelled.
all i would say if that crash was real they would be dead

This track is near me, like 15 miles from my backyard...and boy do I wish this was reality more than them installing Lights at Dega.

@k3coyotes55
I think you could have it if you dialed the horse power back enough with a restrictor plate.

Thank you for answering my question on if any car can be raced on any track.

According to my stop watch, these laps are only averaging 220 mph.

How well do those cars draft at this track?
ZForce14 1 year ago
@ZForce14 It really depends on the setup of the car, with the gearing and aero. If you have it hooked up right it drafts very well.

@EaAddict360 This isn't Texas. The radius of the corners at Talladega are much bigger and speeds probably woulnd't break 225.
