I wish there was a live performance of this tune from 1977,BUT,this will have to do. One question: Why did they disappear in The 80's? That disturbs me.
Man this music is timeless. I am 32 and all I listen to is classic rock...or in reality real rock. I grew up in the grunge rock-alternative rock era of the 90's but in high school we would always jam to Foghat, Boston, Bad Company, ZZ Top, etc. Nothing better feeling than being 17, drinking a beer and jamming to tunes like this. God I hope stuff like this comes back around.
This was one of my first concerts back in the 70's. The line up was Rick Deringer, U.f.O and Foghat at the Aarogon (brawl Room) Ballroom. Later that year I saw The Jackson Five at Golf Mill Theater.
This is a great piece of musical history that has been preserved by video, as it'll never happen again. RIP, Rod & Dave, we'll getta party again someday -
Can anyone remember any other rock and roll bands where twin or more lead guitars set aside their egos and played off of each other or together?...Judas Priest, Foghat, Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett.....C'mon...add some more....if you can....
@pretorious700. No, you're wrong. This is the original band but your datas are way off. Lonesome Dave died in 2000 from cancer. Rod in 2005 from a heart attack. Get your facts straight or don't post.
lets get it right..lonesome Dave peverrett rhymn guitar and lead vocal,Rod price lead/slide guitar, tony stevens bass guitar and roger earl on drums.BORN AND CREATED in south london and loved by north americans while brits never knew what the hell they missed.Great blues/boogie band.R.I.P DAVE AND ROD...GOD BLESS.
I saw these guys totally rock the house quite a few times when they played in Davenport. Iowa, years ago-especially the old RKO Orpheum theater. This vid brings back some good memories!
Saw them three times in Sacramento. Roger Earl autographed his broken bass drum head for us. Early 70's. Saw the original band several times after that. They killed. The only group who were close to them was Ten Years After. Great rapport with the crowd. Raise your glass, drink to their memory. They don't make 'em like that any more. Music today just doesn't cut it.

Losing Lonesome Dave to cancer only 7 years after this video to cancer (I hate that disease) & Rod Price in 2005... Rock music truly lost 2 legends. I had the pleasure of seeing Foghat in concert in the late 70's and the power & drive of their music was an experience I'll never forget. We miss you guys but we know you are in rock & roll heaven...
INFO ....... THIS TRACK is featured on an episode of UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER tv show in the 1990s ( EPISODE - ROCKSTAR ) .... i'm loading it on Youtube ( listen for this song in the background ) ....
Yes, the band's original lineup is featured in this video. This was made during their first tour after reforming in 1993. Tony Stevens was Fog's original bassist(and is in this video), but most fans remember Craig MacGregor on bass because he was in the band at the peak of Fog's success 1976-1980.
thanks for the vid, truly difficult to get good material from 70s groups even if they still do play in some miserable corner. After the 70s everything became fashion and those so called musicians nowadays are empty muppets of marketing branches, fully backed on stage by high tech without any true message at all. Younger ppl shall know that all rnr and rock got to have a social meaning beside love and wanking some titts or bumps. stupid. BUT still there are good new bands nobody ever will see
saw these guys at soldeirs field. "superbowl of rock" in chicago. ithink it was back in 77. opening band was 38 special, journey, ufo. foghat, lynard skynard. and ted nugent. i bet you people have never heard a 20 min ver of faghats "i just want" rock on foghat you were the best. god i miss the 70"s
The end isn't "screwed up." The whole song runs close to 14 minutes, and YT only allows 10 mins of video. I cut it at a pause in the song about halfway through instead of letting it run to 10 and having it cut at an even more awkward point.
Rock & Roll Outlaws. You Know I Was Stone Blue and Lonesome Dave & Rod helped me through. way back in 1983 I lost A friend to suicide. and I saw this
band and shook hands with Lonesome Dave and then I followed them to the next town . and those guys are the best people that ever lived "GOD BLESS EM".
Lonesome Dave Peverett(the singer) died from cancer in 2000. Rod Price(Guitarist) died from falling down a flight of stairs while having a heart attack in 2005.
Yeah, there's a lot of arguing about the "new" Foghat. There are so many bands still gigging with one or two original members--Foreigner, Molly Hatchet, Head East, Skynyrd, Uriah Heep, Foghat, etc. It's not the same as back in the day, but I do give them serious credit for keeping the music alive. Foghat's new lineup is a very good band indeed, but the same "feeling" isn't there now. However, they do know how to rock! Charlie Huhn is a good singer, one of the best!
Rod Price died in March of 2005. He was at his home in New Hampshire and had a heart attack while climbing a flight of stairs. The heart attack didn't kill him, but when he lost control and fell down the stairs--that's what did it. He was 57.
I wish there was a live performance of this tune from 1977,BUT,this will have to do. One question: Why did they disappear in The 80's? That disturbs me.

Finally, an original band that rocks out their tune just as good - if not better - as the studio version. This fuckin' jams.

The current version of Foghat did a great show last night at the Alameda
County Fair in Pleasanton,CA! (6/24/11).I was there.Craig MacGregor and
Roger Earl, the two remaining original members of Foghat, were there.Great
show! The two new guitarists (Charlie Hune, guitar and lead vocals),and
Brian Bassett, formerly of the American band Wild Cherry("Play That Funky
Music White Boy") were sensational! Brian is a slide player just like the late,
great Rod Price.
