When this cylinder was recorded, Confederate & Union Civil War Veterans were in their 60's, 70's & 80's! They were younger than those Vets from WWII today [2011], my 90 y.o. father being one of them.
Great phonograph... I wouldn't reccommend refinishing... I've had a lot of luck with fine steel wool and a good wax like Briwax. It comes in a lot of different colors, i's easy to use and it saves the old finish.

Thanks, and your welcome. It is spelled with 2p's. I have a diamond disc of the song too. And it is spelled with one p. I don't know about the gojo. It looks way worse in person than in video. Veneer chips, alligatored varnish. I've been hunting for a 75 for years. See them sometimes on ebay, but shipping is something else. I was willing to drive down to the orlando phonograph show to find one. I found this one in sep. at a flea market.

Great tune! Im pretty envious of your 75. I've been wanting one for years too, but they dont seem to show up very often in Aus.

When I bought it, it was missing the 3 drawers, mandral, reproducer, and horn.

I hae the record, a black label Edison record, dated 1914 # 50195. One side has the Dixie Medley, theother side has the Infanta March.
