just so you guys, if you wanna learn to play rock or metal, its a good idea to do fingering exercises as well as chords when you start out.the basic one is playing frets 1-2-3-4 in sequence down all the strings. when you get to the bottom e string, shift all ur fingers down one fret and play frets 5-4-3-2. work your way back to the top E and shift over to 3-4-5-6. keep this pattern and work down the scale. it may seem like a bitch at first but it will condition your fingers very quickly .

why do some people teach the F minor chord as a barre chord?? My index finger is in agony trying to hold those strings down alot of time could have been spent on learning basic melodies by now, yet still I have people teaching me the painful way to play F minor. So is there a "correct" way to play f minor??? coz it's doing my head in! p.s. great videos.

Not as useful as other videos...just listing the chords doesn't help too much, would be much better to have 4 chord charts on the screen at one time, so you can pause it and practise.

Nice tutorial, but actually the F Major chord you mentiond is Fmaj7, Not F Major.

F Major is x33211.

errm is it me or did you explain the chords wrong on the F major chord you bar strings 1 and 2 (unless your playing F Major 7) with your first finger and you only play strings 1-4 .On the A minor you showed the right finger placement but didnt say that you only play strings 1-5 and same with the C Major chord its only on the E minor chord that you play all 6 Strings

I saw a couple of guitars you're using...what're the makes and models? Talk more about strumming too..coz I know for a fact that when I first started out strumming in proper rhythm was the biggest challenge...you could talk about bringing in metronomes to early videos as well simply coz they just make sure you're playing in time right from the beginning...keep up the good work...

That IS NOT how you play the F major chord. You need to barre the first and second strings (the high e and the b string) at the first fret with your first finger so you can get the f note on the high e. You are NOT supposed to play an open e note with an F chord. Also, that's the shortened form of the chord. The regular chord is played with all six strings. Be careful what you're teaching people, especially beginners that don't know any better.

wrapping your thumb around the top of the guitar is a VERY bad habit. you shouldn't be able to see your thumb at all.
