they wanna throw lights everywhere cos it looks nice. it's a fun thing to do. it's not illegal. it expresses a little artistic passion. what's wrong with going out into your area and wanting to make it look nice? i'm sure it made a lot of other people just watching think "wow that looks cool, nice gimmick." etc. and i doubt they thought they were 'hardcore' becuase they were in a big group. only little kiddies lookin for fights who can't protect themselves think they're hardcore in numbers.
