@brilliantWISEgenius I saw a report about 10 years ago that stated that the Pygmies height was due to a lack of certain nutrients in their diets. If fed a similar diet as the average sized person, they grow as tall as any "average" person. So if a Ubangi butchers and eats a pygmy,..that is certainly cannibalism,..even if their short stature was indeed an attribute of a different "species" or type of human. That can never make one less than human.

thanks for putting this up. these peoples stature is a product of their habitat and diet more than anything. a rain forest life style, you adapt to your environment.

like most indigenous peoples they are in constant threat of exploitation by outside forces. mining companies, deforestation, modernity... it never ends well for peaceful and isolated people like this.

Now they're doing even worse. They are basically slaves to the other tribes they've encountered since they aren't isolated. They work in factories making sneakers and other various goods for barely anything, or on farms for just food and a place to stay. They are basically slaves in most areas. In some remote areas they are hunted, and eatin because they are believed to be magical. It sucks what has happened to them.

You are right. They lacked the Technology for proper nourishment and developed Kwashiorkor. But I dont know if we are doing any better with all the processed foods today containing Carcinogens and cholesterol. Kwashiorkor seems harmless in comparison to Fatal Heart disease, Cancer etc
