  • what is the brand of those gaiters...

  • Nothing makes me relax more than your videos on a stressful day. :)

  • Okay dude the music after you pierce that blister on the tree. I gotta know what it is , it is burned into my head.

  • what are those green leaves you picked???

  • @bbroegger Wintergreen.

  • @SkogKniv arh thanks alot, here in denmark its called "mountain tea" and sadly doesnt grow wildly :(. thanks tho. great video :)

  • Sounds a wee bit like the Lars Monsen theme tune

  • Just stumbled on to your vids.... Remind me so much of my younger days in the mountains.. GREAT filming, music, and Lore.. Please keep at it! BTW, is that a Boker knife??

  • Was that a blister from a Douglas or Balsam Fir? Did you utilise the resin for anything?

  • i hate litter

thanks for the fantastic video and pics

    dig the music

  • @ibmoosed So do I, I don't see why its so hard for some people to just pack out, or at least burn their trash.

  • I didnt know they still allowed open fires in the park so i have been bringing my stove with me for the past 3 years. I know many of the fire pits at the Lean-To's have been taken out.

  • @SilentWolf1966 It falls under the back country camping rules. Use designated fire pits when available, otherwise be smart about it. Process only dead wood (obviously).

  • @SkogKniv Ty for the info on fires.Didnt know if we could still build them in the park.So cool we can keep the knowledge comming and we will learn together.

  • @SilentWolf1966 If it helps, here is the rule verbatim:

"Fires should be built in existing fire pits or fireplaces if provided. Use only dead and down wood for fires. Cutting standing trees is prohibited. Extinguish all fires with water and stir ashes until they are cold to the touch. Do not build fires in areas marked by a "No Fires" disk."

  • @SkogKniv Yes i relize all the rules just thought they were banned in the park.As in many forests i have traveled to open fires are banned and you must use a stove.Forest fires are a real concern and was just addressing the issue.

  • Hey. This my neck of the woods!! No better place to live!

  • Nice!

  • Great video what kinda knife was that?

  • Lookin good bro, love that Axe action!!!

  • Are those maxpedition packs sir? If so what model?

  • mmm wintergreen and pine needle tea

  • What kind of pants do you guys wear?

  • Good to see the ol' kettle pressed back into service, mate. I couldn't make out the logo on the gators. What are they and do you like them. I'm in the market for some. Great vid as usual!

  • @lmsloan The gaiters are from Eastern Mountain Sports.

  • Skog, once again another beautiful video, thanks for sharing your trip with us. Where do you find your music?

  • Excellent video, I have yet to be disappointed by anything you produce! Quick question, what is the make and model of the blade pictured at 7:47? Thanks.

  • @BigFootSurvival The blade is made by Adventure Sworn knives. The handle was put on and done by me.

  • always love your videos!

  • man this place a beautiful, any pine forest is fun and relaxing to camp in

pretty cool music too, perfect for bush-craft

  • Skog - excellent video once again, looked like a great time. Nothing like getting outside, chopping, grubbin around, good fire, and then some food and relaxation. Looks awesome.

  • @TheOperator1975 Thanks man!

  • Listening to this, reminds me of Lars Monsens great videos.

  • I always hate seeing trash in the woods. Sometimes, we will take a trash bag with us, and as we walk along, if we see any trash, we'll pick it up and carry it out of there. I used to complain when I saw people leaving trash behind, but, I realized it didnt do any good. I had to become the "solution" and just pick it up myself..........sorta turning a "wrong deed" into a "right deed." There's always going to be those kind of people...sad, but true. Thanks for your vid's. My wife and I love them.

  • 8:40 epic soup making music :D. May I ask what that tune is? I'd like to get my hands on it.

A pleasure to watch, as always. Thank you for giving us another peek into a beautiful, peaceful environment, and how it can be enjoyed to the fullest.

  • Great video as always but a little disappointing. No Bacon!

    Nate

  • 2:58 0.01 that music reminds me of when I whas a kid watching Lars Monsen with my dad :)

  • Where is this taken place?

  • @xpshawn The location is in the title...

  • @Fabbehr Because its the best way for me.

  • @SkogKniv Ok I can live with that!

  • hey bud, ever cross black bear in the adi's? im up in montreal and travel down for trips here & ther, always curious. have a good 1

  • @waxmastawes I am not far from there and i seen Black Bear there many times. When i was a kid i remember my Uncle would take us to the Dumps there to watch them feed on the trash.

  • really happy for you , beautififul video , thanks hope to catch you in canada

  • Nice video dude. I like that music.

I love the forest fire slowly being created at 8:45, haha. But the way we doused it afterwards, it'd take a miracle from god to re-ignite that.

  • great video. nice area.

You got to love the great outdoors.

    scott

  • wow! amazing, where is this filmed?

  • Came home from work yesterday and saw you had a new video. Yess! Your terrain is just like my favorite spots at 61 degrees north here in Norway. Nice video. Keep up the good work!

  • 16 1/2 minutes of pure relaxing vision and sounds.

    I thoroughly enjoyed that Leif.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • @SkogKniv

lol...sweet.....I think i'll go block him now aswell now...we dont need idiots like that.

  • song at the end?

  • Never tried the wintergreen AND pine needles together. I'm not much of a pine tea kinda guy, does it take some of the bite outta the pine taste? I'll have to try it!! I see your still keeping the GSI kettle in the rotation! Good to keep all our "stuff" used and loved :) Thumbs up!

  • Great video. You remind me of Ray Mears. Thanks and Take Care.

  • @1097411 That is a great compliment, thank you!

  • @1097411 Agreed. I don't think about Ray Mears without thinking about Skog

  • Very nice.

  • I made two tinder boxes with cat tail fluff. big tin packed full will shrink about 10 percent once charred. holds a big ember to start stubborn damp stuff. once the fire is lit slam the lid back on and it will be ready next time. when it is used up I repack the box with more fluff and renew the tinderbox. works for me.

  • I think these videos are great. They sum up some of the things I like best about camping and bushcraft without being ego-y. If I can't get out in the woods its nice to watch someone else doing it and doing it right!

  • I wanna know where or how you came about the wooden cup?

  • @M2BC2001 Look up "kupilka 21"

  • The opening music for me,,, the song 3 mins in sounds like The Shadows for the person who asked,, might be called FBI

  • nice vid' , another day in the woods is another day too remember.

See alot of work went into the trail going in across the wetlands.

    cool

  • I'd like to know what the music is as well??

  • How was that tea? Fairly weak or?

It just didn't seem like you added much to flavor it.

  • EXTREMELY well done video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting. It was inspiring.

  • I love your videos. Make me want to run out to woods. I don't get out there as much as I would like. Keep it up!

  • man you let me know, I thought for sure I was going to see bacon wrapped hotdogs!

  • fantastic vid i always enjoy your work you do thank you for sharing ....... i was wondering my wife and i was listening to the music and we both liked it at 11:40 could you tell me if possible the song and composer of the piece

  • Great video :)

What's the song that starts at 3:00 called? I really recognize it but I can't place it.

  • the one dislike on this video if from someone that has bever been in the Adirondacks before. hell its my backyard lol anyway was curious to what brand that firestarted is that you have?

  • So much said with so little words!

  • Fantastic video accompanied with great music.

The excursion was really cool Brother.

Thank you for picking me up.

    Take Care.

    Greetings Tito

  • Awesome!

  • This is just a beautiful and very impressive landscape and even with such little words this video tells everything you need! Really enjoyed watching it and those wonderful pictures will stay in my head for a long time! thank you so much Rob! ATB from Austria Mike

  • best vids

  • i absolutely love the adirondacks!

  • Nice vid mate....It would have been slightly better with some Bacon

    Bacon makes everything better......

  • Nice video man. Dug that little walking bridge. Take care.

  • Nice trip...thanks for letting us come with.

  • what a great video, thank you, wintergreen does make a good tea

  • is there an artist I can download this great music from?

  • Is that balsam fir? I didn't know we had it in Sweden.

  • @aru05001 I don't know either, I am in the Adirondacks of NorthEast United States. I am of Norwegian heritage as well, not Swedish.

  • Another great video and good choice of music (Lars Monsen's theme songs)

  • Yes, another video! Pine Needle tea is my favourite brew, Wulamallessin, Leif & Cody!

  • "If one is master of one thing and understands one thing well, one has at the same time, insight into and understanding of many things."

    Vincent Van Gogh

  • Fantastic place.

  • Are those bacon hot dogs? GR8 video thanks for all of your work on them, I always look forward to them. Take care and have a great holidays season with your family.

  • @juwright1949 We brought bacon as well. We thought about doing bacon wrapped dogs. It didn't happen though lol.

  • Great soundtrack, especially the second piece.

    Nice edit as well.

  • There always seems to be something inside of me that stirs when I watch these videos. I am not entirely sure as to what it is exactly. I also think that your background music choice can't be any better. I am drinking my coffee, grateful to have taken part of this walk into the woods with you both. Great Job D

  • @Lone58 Your reaction is exactly what I make videos for. Thanks for watching!

  • Nice vid. Lots of work editing there. Thanks for the effort. BTW, do you know what the proper name is for the little wooden cup with the handle in your video if it is indeed called anything other than a wooden cup? :)

  • @ducttapewireandglue Hey there:) The "wooden cup" is a Norwegian implement called Kuksa.

  • @ShivSilverhawk Thanks. :)

  • Nice video!

  • as usual a really nice video Skogniv. i really enjoy you vid out in the Adirondaks. i live in the SE of england quite near to RM but we have nothing like that here nearly all broad leafed. woodland. but interesting all the same. loved the axes i more iten than not use the GB SFA if i take an axe out at all

  • @mazadan You might be amazed, that I can walk not 10 minutes from that spot and be in broad leaf myself. I am lucky to have an assortment of forest types here.

  • really great:) thanks for watching...

  • Beautiful music . Pine needels are obvious but what was the other leaf ? And by all means what was the music in the end ? I gotta know.

  • @scdefion I believe its wintergreen.

  • @scdefion It's wintergreen.

  • @scdefion The other one was Wintergreen. Amazing for tea.

  • @SkogKniv Something to remember, in the mint family (Lamiaceae) the stems are square if rolled between your fingers.

  • Nice video. I see that you also some persons do not respect the nature, it is sad. I love the background music in the end

  • How do you like that half-moon grind on the True Temper compared to the grind on your GBs?

  • Small packs, big axes.

  • @JustinBaker2567 Thats the best way to pack lol

  • @JustinBaker2567 Its not the size of the pack, its how you use it to carry your big axe.

  • @SkogKniv But speaking from experience big packs can be fun too.

  • Don't fall in : )
