  • Hi Dom

How did you get the lighting effect on the girls face when she's standing on the bridge, 3.15mins into the stills video?

  • good job, dom. i love your photos so much!

  • Dude can't you get a better vid HD camera?

  • Wow, the shot at 2:33 has to be a favourite ;)

  • fantastic photos !

  • What lens is used at 2:18?

  • Looks like his Tokina model.

  • Again, great work Dom. Are those shoots for clients or for your own portfolio? If so, how do you go about getting models for the shoots? People you know or hired models?

  • @MartinNH

well that is a really big question, and how i got to this position with these models and these locations is what i am going to explain in my book.

  • This is the hour, the hour of Bower! More power to you, mate! Love your work.

  • my fav pics are the ones on the balcony with tightroom to take fotos :D:D great work Dom!!

  • What city was this at? Like where in the world??

  • edinburgh, the capital of scotland

  • Stellar work as always Dom.

  • Dom, that was an excellent photo shoot and I wish I was there! Love the balcony shots and as others have said, the fireplace shots also. Brad

  • The fireplace pictures are very nice as are the balcony ones. Beautiful. :]

  • oh, I just saw it at the end.

    sorry

  • Don't know if this was asked before, but, what program do you use to edit your sideshows? Aftereffects?

  • hohoho nonono! still just using windows movie maker, the free stuff you get with a pc computer.

  • A couple of good shots but surprised at how average a lot of them are and simply don't have a professional finish that I would have expected from a pro. It gives us all hope.

  • oooh someone sounds a bit bitter!!! love how you consider me as a pro. at no point do i mention that i am a pro, infact i have only had a camera for 2 and a half years. can you divulge what you think is "more professional finnish?" cos you lost me there.

  • TomHarper68.. I know many Professional Photographers and the quality of Dom's work equals or exceeds theirs. If pictures on youtube look great then they are good quality because you lose a lot of quality decompressing the files etc. so it can be posted on youtube. One of Dom's 8mb raw pic might be compressed to 800kb for these vids..Dom and many other people that deal with photography will tell you that in person the quality of these pics are a LOT better. which is hard to believe i know lol

  • thank you for your very kind words hit249 I think tomharper68 had some personality issues. its good to be able to block people.

  • Wow i really like the pics. Portfolio type work.

i think you should fix the YELLOW teeth on one of the girls. time 1:22 ITS REALLY BAD.

    thanks buddy

  • Dom, how do you get the vibrancy and saturation on your photos with out software on the computer ???

  • read your camera instruction book

  • Some good shots....

  • Really cool video nice shots are you looking for someone to help you setup stuf a lug equipment around Im looking in working with photographers for experiance

  • Really cool dom good video as allways you keep me entertained!

Do you need a 2nd photographer to help with setting up and stuff? As I would love to work with you? For free of course just wanna get some expeirance

  • Hey Dom, nice job as always. I like the shot at 2:34 a lot. I've been following you since you first started posting your photography stuff and it's really great to see you get all these photo shoots getting your work out there. Just a question I've been wondering, do you enjoy the kind of photography you've done here in this video or more of the nature and wildlife stuff like in you Scotland video?

    Mark

  • Awesome. You're like a photographer celebrity on youtube.

Do you use off camera flash for weddings also?

  • was that a 14-24 f2.8 you were using? is at about 2:20 in the video very nice video

  • close but not right. it is the tokina 11-16mm f2.8 dx)

  • 14-24 is amazing and would cost more than his camera lol.

  • So what was this shoot for? Im not sure what a samba girl is..

  • samba is a type of dance. shot is for modeling agencies and both photographer and model portfolios.

  • whats the music, please?

  • you are such a nob!!! you didnt watch the video to the end then did you!!!!!

  • i watched it several times because of this music(and some shots) but i did not watch ending. oh, dom, dont be so harsh, i like some of your videos and photos too, and your some of your advices helped me few times :) greetings from slovakia

  • Great photoshoot! really loved the outside wideangle pics! the depth in the picture you get there really gives the picture the little extra. read you used a fuji for this one, can u use nikons CLS with it? think i saw the sb 900 there so im just wondering. i really like the progression in your work. keep it up!

  • you sure can use the CLS with the fuji s5,

  • awesome, I really like your shots

  • Awsome love all your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Amazing work there mate, as usual.

Do you use a flashmeter/lightmeter to compose your lighting?

What is your technique? Try and see?

  • no dont have the time to work with a flash meter, the nikon cls system has a ttl ablity so it automatically changes the power of the flash but a lot of the time i use manual power and just change the aperture on the camera.

  • Really good work there Dom! I told you would pull it off!

Loving the outside wide angle shots, and was blown away with the half color half b&w version you made.

  • cool glad you liked it.

  • That half color, half b&w was my favorite but all of them were awesome!

  • did you use a nikon d300?

  • actually no, the fuji all the way for these shots!

  • what fuji did you use, and why is the fuji so alike nikon? should´t the brands be rivals?

  • my fuji.

  • niceeee!!!!!!! loved it!!!!

  • AWSOME!!!

  • thankyou

  • Pretty good shots dom. :)

  • I'm the third

  • i must have been the second!
