I see this as well. Most people who are negative are either native speakers who feel that they are superior because they "know" their mother tongue and for some unknown reason feel threatened that you want to learn it (which I don't get at all) or haters who don't really belong to our community anyway. The true polyglot community is all about respect, support and sharing with each other. Those who don't do that, are not of us but hang out on vlogs out of mental defect or nothing better to do.

I agree with your comments, I have never posted a video of myself speaking in other langauges (though I can understand more than 30 and speak around 20 at very high to relative fluency). The reason is that I prefer interaction rather than talking to a camera.
@NaomiChambers I would love to find children's books in Arabic, Russian and a host of other languages. I think I could make a video about Chinese ones here and provide an order service for anybody who wants them. I think we can come together as a community and help each other out in this way.

Just like a baby learning how to walk. Those who put their thumb down, really doesn't know even how a language-learning process is. I think they never have mastered a foreign language.
