  • WTF this is youtube..no crashes and a responsible rider wtf?

  • Comment removed

  • @KesikMax It actually is a pretty boring video... but thank goodness, no crashes! ;-)

  • @GreenXGene make sure he gets pants too. I know people who have gotten huge scrapes from jeans ripping. im only 20 and i crashed my katana 750 and pants helped a lot :P

  • @GreenXGene aha

  • cool ass dad

  • that's actually a really nice bike

  • I bought a yamaha r6 for my first bike, and now its slow. i want a 1000 cc bike hahaha

  • congrats, your son will have some of the best times of his life on that thing.

  • Don't get a small bike to start with, couple months later you will be bored and need to buy a new bike again. Start on a 600 and don't ride like a dick.

  • how tall is he

  • @XalPhoon ... about 6' or 183cm.

  • I wish I lived there! THAT as a first bike? I have a fucking cbr 125.

  • @suckityoudongo same man i got an aprilia rs125, it sucks, because i could quite happily hop on a cbr600 but insurance over here in the uk is horseshit,

  • what no rolling burnout, no christ-air, no flat out 6th gear run....jeez

  • People... some entry level riders are mature and shrewd enough to handle 600s, 750s, and on rare occassions liter bikes. Some can and some can't its just how it is. If he can ride a 600 let him. Its plenty of people that have the control (mental and physical) to ride these bikes safely.

  • ZX6R as first bike?

  • @konfutsi30 its either a lie or that kid is gunna get him self killed a 1st bike a 600 one wrong move from the clutch throttle or a cuple friends willing him on to send it and then hes gunna learn a big lesson

  • @jamster8989 he'll be alright some people can handle a 600 (on rare occassions liters) and some can't ... All people don't have to start at a 250 or on a cruiser.

  • @jamster8989 i dont think you have ever ridden a 600. maybe a brand new 600.

whats thats kawi like a 1993...

  • @SpartanG6 becuz man....it is dangerous. your parents dont want to see you get hurt.....but i kno what u mean tho.

  • Google image "ZZR 600" and you will see exactly the same bike as the "ZX6E" in the video. The reason for this is that in europe and japan this bike was sold as a ZZR 600. In the US it was the ZX6E. Apart from the name (excluding paintjobs and slight mod to meet emissions stds in california model) there is no difference.

I know this as I own a ZZR600E. (exactly the same as the bike in the video).

  • ..and he never came back....

  • he's pretty good

  • i want a bike but im 6 foot 6 and 350lbs im to big for a bike

  • zzr 600 for U.S. market have name zx-r like ZZR 14 in U.S. its ZX14 basicy its the same bike

  • to clear things up...this is the ZX6E model. I used to have this bike. This is the sport touring model of the ZX6R. As far as the ZZR600 nonsense you guys are speaking of, the ZZR600 is the SAME EXACT BIKE as the 99-02 ZX6R just renamed. They changed nothing on the ZX6Rs other than the name. Basically to sum it up, Kawasaki brought back the 99-02 ZX6R and renamed it the ZZR.

  • @MACbook211 To be fair, it's not "ZZR nonsense". This bike is the ZZR 600E in europe and japan. This is where the confusion lies. You're right that it was continued to be produced alongside the ZX6R, but you have to bear in mind that in 1993, this bike wasn't originally intended as a sports tourer. It was the fastest 600cc and the first to reach 150mph. You're right about the ZZR600 in the US being the older 6R.

  • gonna get my test hopefully done in a week, then honda hornet 600 =)

  • it is a ZX-6e. older ninjas looked just like modern ZZRs...cool video, wish my dad supported me and my bike like that :) i love the fact that the fairings are off the sides of it as well. mine looked like that because i dropped it and damaged them so i just rode without em hahaha!

  • My son also just started riding. he took the course and bought a ninja 250.

Now i hope he doesn't get mangled by someone running a light like I did when I was young. Left me handicap, but i'm still riding :)

Good luck to them both and all new riders. ADVICE, don't be pulled into going faster by other riders. I have seen many new riders feeling they have to keep up (peer pressure?) go past their riding ability and bad things happen. B SAFE

  • Its a ZX6e... i had a 93. The reason they are called ZZR600 now is because the ZX6 is the 636 engine, they kept the zzr carbbed for longer. its more of a sports touring.

  • Nice bike! :D My beginner bike was a Suzuki 750 GSXR, lovely bike! :)

  • fun bike to learn on!

  • Going just the indicators i know fo a fact its a zzr

As for people not wearing ridin suits and boots they do it in other countrys as well

  • Omg, only in america ppl not wearing ridin suits and boots!

  • @DJwooCush some people don't want to take the time to put all that gear on... Personally I never like to gamble on such things as believing "oh, todays a good day so no one will suddenly being to turn into my lane and push me off the side of the road"

  • @DJwooCush it's really a drag to wear full suit all the time... at least he's wearing a helmet and a jacket!! oh with gloves too. not bad compared to t shirt riders!! woot woot

  • @DJwooCush Not it isn't only in America.

  • @DJwooCush Only the ones who have not tasted assphault dont wear riding pants and one piece suits.

  • @DJwooCush im portuguese and i only use ridin suit when is to cold...

  • The famous words of any father " Be careful" that sounds so familiar lol nice bike! I'm a new rider myself and I'm starting on a ninja 250 it's the perfect bike for someone my size :-)

  • And i will get my 50cc in a year, ive been looking forward to it since i was about 9 years old. :)

  • how the fook do you guys get 600's as a first bike ? in the UK its a 50cc for most people!!

  • when i got my first bike, my dad said " I don;t wanna be scraping you and the bike off the freeway somewhere"

  • NINJA!!!

  • love it that you tell him to be careful then you laugh and say i'll film it. like he's gonna crash.....lol

  • dirt bikes are kinda better as a first bike and are better to learn on

  • The US is crazy. Bikes like that for a first bike? I had a CBR 125 for 2 years before i even thought about my R6

  • Alot of people are talking about starting riding with a 250 or even a 600... I started out with a 50cc Honda Monkey when i was 15... And im now moving up to a 125 yamaha yzf-r..

  • just like how the er-6n and ninja 650 look similar some bikes do that

  • Jeans? No good.

  • cool, after 300 videos one man with a brain and right equipment who doesn't crashes 100 times.

  • if i would be his father

id kick his ass because he is not wearing full i my mean FULL riding gear!

  • I've got a question. Is hard to learn to ride, on your first try? Or is it very easy?

  • man, I wish i had parents like that. They said no bike as long as i live under their roof, so I'm just waiting for college to get one. people fear what they do not understand.

  • @SpartanG6 i got the same exact parents

  • @SpartanG6 lucky. mine say as long as theyre alive.

  • @SpartanG6 my parents said the same thing, but they were more open to me getting a dirt bike. I thought the same thing, that they didn't understand it, turns out my dad raced a lot of enduros, mx, and a 24 hour sport bike race when he was my age and was riding at 11. Sometimes they just know the dangers. Road is dangerous, try learning in the dirt, you will develop skills that you wouldn't tend to develop riding road and away from traffic/people, parents might go for it.

  • @SpartanG6 No they understand perfectly and fear because of it. I've had my close calls and done my dumb shit on a bike so I'm well aware of the danger of them but I never understood the fear for others until my girlfriend got one. I was worried every time she was on it she was going to crash and die, it's a horrible feeling and considering how many people wreck their bikes and get hurt it's well justified.

  • @SpartanG6 Trust me dont start with 600ccm! start with 50 or 125 maybe 250

  • @SpartanG6

Your parents are saying it for a reason. They ARE very dangerous. My parents were the same way. Sit them down and try to talk with them. Please bud, when you do get a bike, start small and take a safety course. Learn slow, even if you have some experience on, say, dirt bikes. Stay safe and ride alive!

  • @SpartanG6 It's different now. My dads LOVES the fact that i ride...But won't let me buy a streetbike of my own...why?

Because in the 80s people could actually drive/pay attention while controlling a 4000 pound death machine.

Nowadays they're not focusing on the task at hand(Fucking with the radio, cellphone, ect)

Next time you drive somewhere...have a short convo on the phone...I'll bet you won't remember a THING about your drive.

  • @SpartanG6 my parents said that until my junior year in high school when i bought my first bike a 02 Ninja 250 they flipped out but i paid for it, gas, insurance everything and then they respected that, now i am on my 3rd bike :)

  • @SpartanG6 same thing was said to me but i kept begging for 3 years and bought a few of my own and they finally accepted it and bought me my dream bike hehe

  • There was the Ninja 600R, ZX-6 and ZX-6R. In 2003 they stop making the ZX-6R as we know it and redesigned it. The old ZX-6R was kept in production and renamed as the ZZR600. I say this as I've owned one of each with the exception of the ZX-6 (your son's bike) because I opted for the R. It says it right on the tail section too. My first street bike was a 1995 ZX-6R, followed by an '86 Ninja 600R, '05 ZX-6R and currently '07 ZZR600.

  • zzr? its just a zx6.

  • Just you wait, in a few years he will be pulling wheelies down the road :D

  • The ZX600E has a different name in Europe, it is what we call the ZZR600 (second generation, the first was the ZX600D, before that was the ZX600C - aka GPX600R in Europe or Ninja600 in USA, and then right down to the ZX600A, which I ride, the Ninja600R in USA or here in Europe the GPZ600R ....

What I wanted to say was,, buy the kid some riding gear PLEASE !!!

    Otherwise, nice bike, sounds good.

  • Guess what he did when he got out of your view

  • @kriauciuniux9 thats nasty :) ... but probably true .. :)

  • Is it just me or does it seam like his gears shift heavy? Nice bike!

  • they grow so fast..

  • Thats a nice bike :P i wish to get one like that

  • all i can say is take it slow and dont get cocky

  • It makes me cringe watching ppl learn to ride on the street first. Advice: find a yz 80 or 125, a clear field, and fall a couple of times.

  • @GreenXGene I think you wrong... i never heard about zx-6e maybe is a second name of zzr? i dont know but in kawasaki is possible, in europe GPZ 500 > in US EX 500... In poland are many zzr's from 91, 92. frame from zzr 600 look same like from your video.

  • @Tomeksiena1995 I think the confusion is the models in the U.S. are many times renamed, or not released here until they have been in other parts of the world for awhile, etc. I'm not sure what part you think I am wrong about. Like I said, here in the States, the ZX600E was re-branded as the ZZR600 in 2003/2004 (also 2004 the year it stopped being exported to the U.S.). So, technically, I think we are both correct. This bike, I assure you, is a 1996 ZX-6E, or ZX600E.

  • @GreenXGene or zzr600 ;]

  • @Tomeksiena1995 The reason I am not saying it is a ZZR600 is because this is a 1996 bike... and the ZZR600 was not here until 2003/2004. ZX-6E, or ZX600E is on the title, the registration, the owner's manual, the VIN plate, etc.

  • @GreenXGene Ok maybe your right :D greetings from poland

  • @GreenXGene In England, this would be a ZX-6R....I know, because i had one :-)

  • @Tomeksiena1995 And there was me thinking that everyone under the age of 60 had moved out of Poland and invaded other countries.

  • Is not a zzr 600??

  • @Tomeksiena1995 If I am correct, the Kawasaki ZZR600 came out in the U.S. in 2003. I believe the debut ZZR600 in the U.S. was based on the previous Ninja 600 or Ninja ZX-6E. This bike, a ZX-6E is a mid-1990's bike.

  • @GreenXGene That specific model (if bought in the EU) is a ZZR600 E model. It was just renamed for the US market as the ZX6E, the same as we have the ZZR1400 and you have the ZX14. The ZZR600 (ZX6E) is a absolutely lovely bike though, hugely reliable and really comfortable. Not to mention enough speed for you to lose your licence ;)

  • Nice bike There I just brought a klx 250 Kawasaki I love it so far. :)

  • All bikes have the potential to get you into trouble. It depends on the rider. If I could trust a new rider to be sensible (not skilled, just sensible. I.e. no flashes of testosterone "I'll show them whos awesome!" moments) then I would have no problem with them riding any mass-production bike. In fact, I am more worried when the bike is heavy or has poor handling than I am when the bike has lots of power. So I would rather them on a sports bike than most 'cruisers'. ABS saves lives.

  • is this bike good for the first bike?? isnt it to fast?? it has 98 hp

  • @jerseyy It has the capability to go fast. Ideally, I would have preferred that his first bike had been a Kawasaki Ninja 250 or something like a Suzuki GS500F. For the price he paid (and after looking at a lot of bikes that were going to need too much mechanical work) he was happy to find this bike and it has worked out for him.

  • @jerseyy It is a GREAT first bike! I have one that I learned how to ride on. The powerband is smooth so that if you hit the gas it doesn't jerk as much as a newer fuel injected bike will but still has lots and lots of power when you need it. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I don't think there is a better bike to start out on. check out my page for the video of my zx6e. I'll post a walk around video soon if you want.

  • Be careful.....hear that all the time. Wen u lose that fear of riding that's when u gotta be more careful.

  • next year getting my first bike cant wait

  • @THEACDC1995 I'll give you same advice that I gave my son. If there is a motorcycle safety course offered in your area, sign up for it and complete the course. Read some good books, such as "Proficient Motorcycling" and the such. Get used to wearing your gear, it becomes natural, to the point that you do not feel right riding without it.

  • @GreenXGene thank you i didt know they give out saftery courses i will look it up ! and im a kindda guy that if im sopoesd to wear like a jacket for safty if one day i dont ill be like what if this or that and ect :p but thanks agian how did ur son find the safety course did it help alot

  • @THEACDC1995

hey look up MSF courses heres the link they have them all over the country and its a awesome program i did it to!

  • what jacket is tht?, looks quite kool

  • @lalavideos He wore it quite a lot his first summer season and I borrowed it last summer while I slabbed it across ten states during a trip to Wyoming. It's probably not one of the greatest protective jackets, but it is better than nothing. It is good for hot days, having quite a bit of airflow through it. It has rudimentary armor and is lightweight. I cannot post a link, but google search for "Xelement Silver Igniter Tri-Tex Fabric and Mesh Motorcycle Jacket".

  • @GreenXGene

And what about the pants? Never ever ever ride without full gear!

  • i'd like to ask

the measurement of the inseam is from the crotch to where?

the ankles or the bottom of the heels

  • Very cool, reminds me of days long past.. My first ride on my Gpz305. Ah, the memories...

  • i just got my first bike last saturday, a suzuki gsxr600 k4, i love it to death, i have one video on my wall, but i got it and was like alright im going to ride smart, the second day having it i think hit 125, its really hard to just not go fast, but yea every single time i walk out of my house i hear the same two words be careful

  • That "Be Careful" sounds pretty familiar. Probably because my dad says it to me everytime I head out the door.

  • @alexhollandmusic haha same here

  • hey man what bike was your son riding before? i wanna buy a 600cc bike and i have to know what should i ride first

  • doesnt this bike has full fairings normally??

  • @Nelis1992 Yes. As his first motorcycle, this ZX6E was nice, mechanically. Cosmetically, some of the fairing wasn't as original. Some pieces, he had taken off for repainting, etc.

  • Lucky kid with a lucky father that supports eachother :) My parents put a down payment on a coffin when i got my bike

  • Def. not his first start, I can tell ya that :-P.

Though it looks like he's riding it sensibly, and you said 3 years later he's still riding sensibly, so good deal all around. Good deal. Good thing he's not planning on stepping up. I stepped up to an R1 very soon after riding and will probably die because of it. Riding a larger bike is more about responsibility than anything else...but your responsibility always has to be there for you..

  • ZX6 first moto... bad idea.... : /

  • He rode quite sensible actually.

How's he doing 3 years later?

  • @Agerasia My son still has the same bike, has done a few long distance trips and commutes to school and work as often as the weather allows. Doing good!

  • @GreenXGene Very good!!!! tell him to keep it up and ride safe, coming from a fellow rider.

  • Your a braver man than me, Ive been riding all my days and I wouldnt let my sons ride

  • Nice Bike may i ask what year? I want to get a ZX6 are they good realiable bikes the older ones?

  • man, he should of got a hayabusa, ideal starter bike ;)

seriously, nice bike, never been a fan of the green, but it sounds lovely and 600cc yep thats fast enough ! :D

  • ahaha,,...sigh** i remember my first time.. so FuN. ride safe

  • i wish my dad video taped me when i got my first bike :'( i just said "hey dad! i just got a motorcycle!" "you what!?!?... whatever.. dont die or nothin'.."

  • @twistedkeys1 LMAO!! sounds like my experience too

  • hey green, has he ever had any problems riding? i am really considering an F4i as a first bike but i was told that a 600cc supersport like this one or the F4i is terrible as a first bike due to it becoming a missile at like 9,000 rpms...how has ur son been doing?

  • @squarecnix This has been, I think, a good choice as his first bike. The ZX6E really isn't in the supersport category, it is really more in the sport/touring category. I think as long as you have a moderate amount of self-control, the E has decent power but not uncontrollable for a novice.

  • @GreenXGene the ZX6 was in the sport catagory the engine is basically the same as the "R" but the egronoics are the only real difference and it is a horrible choice for anyones first ride, you obviously do not care for your son very much or maybe you are just an idiot

  • @SlayerofFiction The ZX6E is a sport/touring bike, not a race designated bike, of course you could race with ANY bike. When he first decided he wanted to ride, I encouraged him to enroll in and take the local MSF course. I also encouraged him to wear proper gear. On HIS purchase of his first bike, I input some of my opinions, but it was HIS decision to make. He is his own man and going into his 3rd riding season, commuting to work/school and a few long distance trips under his belt.

  • @SlayerofFiction What kind of comment is that. I started my riding career when i was 18 with a ZX6R and changed it 4 months later for a cbr900rr. Now my dad rode motorcycle for most of his life and i owe my love to motorcycles to him and i'm glad he was there to give me advice on how to behave on the road and the proper way to ride a bike. The only thing you can do is hope that your son listens to what you say and then trust his abilities and judgement when on the road.

  • @squarecnix

you can buy my 2007 zzr600 lol. cheap and good for a first bike in my opinion. it was my first bike and it's not too powerful like the high-end 600cc bikes but it has plenty of power still.

  • @squarecnix

You'll be good to go on an f4i. Any 600 can be dangerous if you ride like an idiot, self control fixes that. The biggest danger to any rider is the other guy in the car that doesn't see you. Just ride within your comfort zone, don't let anyone else make you push it, and ALWAYS be aware. Good luck and ride safe.

Oh, and wear your gear (jacket, gloves, at least jeans, and at least sneakers). I know you should really have good pants and shoes, but don't be that dork in sandals/shorts

  • @squarecnix you wont be visiting anything above 9k rpms for a good while after you get it. if you do, you should get your head checked. and the bump is at 10k on the f4i... feels like a turbo =o)

  • @squarecnix I test-rode the shit outta my friend's F4I before he got it, 2 teeth on the rear sprocket for more torque, but other than that stock. It pulls a bit harder than my first bike, which was a 750 Katana. If it pulls the same, I'd say sport touring is the best way to go. The F4I, while not a full race super-bike, isn't a tourer, it's a sports bike. Start with a sport-tourer, you'll learn better that way. Ninja EX's are good, personally I feel that Kats are the best beginner bikes.

  • Good to see someone wearing all their gear, make sure it stays on him!

  • Ahh the dragon. Deals gap. I got a 00 zx6r. I got a ticket up there. Well a warning. Awesome ride up there. You should go. I live like 6 hrs from it

  • How many times has he been pulled over? just curious

  • @PlanBSkater2010 I know he was pulled over once, on his return trip home from the Dragon in N.C/Tennessee. He said he was let off with a warning for being moderately over the speed limit on the highway. That's the only pull-over that he's told me about.

  • @PlanBSkater2010 As far as I know, I think he was pulled over once (on his way back home from Deal's Gap/The Dragon) for being a bit over the speed limit, receiving a warning to slow it down a bit.

  • @PlanBSkater2010 i've had my zx6r for a year now and i've never been pulled

  • now thats glory right there .. watching your son ride off on his first bike .. man wish my dad would get me a bike : (

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa He worked for and paid for his own bike and his own car. I figure if you have to earn something, you're more likely to take care of it.

  • @GreenXGene What does you son do in this economy is he a banker lol ? cuz he certainly didnt get this bike working at best buy

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa This first bike of his, is an older model that he purchased used, same with his car. He's still a full-time student (paying his way through college) and he works for a locally owned oil-lube garage. The only real perk I give him, is free room/board while he works his way to get his degree.

  • @GreenXGene Okay he works for an oil lube garage and is doing all this ? doesnt sound right ..

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa What doesn't sound right? He's a good kid, doesn't blow his money partying, he works hard, studies hard and has a fun hobby of being a rider. Why is this so strange? LOL

  • @GreenXGene Oh thats great man that he can do that theres nothing strange if he can manage his money really like that but it seems impossible considering how high everything is

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa I think the cost of living, here in one of the most boring and rust-belt areas of the U.S., has remained relatively low compared to the more exciting areas of the country. Here, if you have actually been able to keep a job, or get a relatively mediocre one, you can squeak by if you aren't too extravagant.

  • @GreenXGene Sounds like a great young man in the works, Must have a great Dad & Mom too. Def got a good head on his shoulders, More then can be said about a lot these days. Best, yl

  • @GreenXGene dude he is not a rider as you say as no motorcycleist would ever give him respect or maybe even speak to him because he is not wearing protective gear do you know how painfull it is to fall off onto concrete even at 30 mph because I sure due its the most painfull experience I have ever had and I then learned my lesson no matter how slow a motorbike is always wear full protective gear even on a moped. im not saying your son cant ride its the car drivers that are the danger

  • Darn those heavy bikes. I have this bike in a '97, not sure what year this one is. I recently bought a 06 GSXr 600, so much more agile it's ridiculous. I was 17 when I got the Ninja, I thought 20 was young for his first bike then I was like wait... I was younger than that lol. I bought both my bikes with hard earned money though, and my gear :P

  • how old was he when he got his first bike?

  • @littlechrist1 Twenty

  • me: dad.. can i have a bike when i grow up?

dad: NO WAY !! if you ever buy one .. i will beat you up . .

me: *thinking* But you have a bike yourself. .

    * NO FAIR *

  • @jasonyeozhishen He doesn't want you to be faster and cooler than him... sorry

  • @jasonyeozhishen ikr? my dad had a motorcycle but got rid of it when my older brother was born... but nope, motorcycles are too dangerous for us...

  • What bike are you on now bro??

  • @Realizt07 He still has the ZX6E

  • i remember when my dad gave me his 03 R6 an the only thing he told me was here you go son now figure it out an went back into the house lol

  • @xKiNgSx88x hahahahahah my dad just bust my balls off to lend him the bike but i send him to fuck off haha

  • In my first bike now, KZ 305, Bought as a basket case. Dad and I are building it together... pertty kewl. You should ride with him!!!

  • @PesimisticThursday We both ride, him on his '96 Ninja... and I have an '09 DL650.

  • How's he doing? He still riding?

  • @classikz Thanks for asking, he's still riding regularly. In late summer, he was able to do a bike trip, with friends, up to the Niagara Falls area and back. He's a good young man, has been pretty responsible.

  • he's lucky

got a 600 cc for a first bike

i only got 150 cc as my first bike and still using it today.

  • they grow up so fast

  • then mom comes out and shouted " you forgot to wear clean underwear!!" just kidding mate!! its really good to see parent supporting their child with the things they love in this way parent can have a good view of their child also in this way good harmony will exist within the family! take care on your riding kid..and dad birds eye view always....ride safe

  • This is what all dads in the world want to see. Looking at our sons going out to conquer the world^^

  • Nice work MR Dad.... You Made Your Son Happy !!!!

  • Awesome! Lookin good. Happy to see fathers and sons enjoying riding together too.

  • do you need to take lessons and have a licence in america?

  • @new9876 My son, who was no longer a minor when he started riding, voluntarily took a motorcycle safety course before getting his motorcycle endorsement on his license. The motorcycle safety course isn't mandatory, but if you take one, where we are located, the test at the end of the class is sufficient to get your motorcycle endorsement. It also allows you to present to your insurance agent and get a discount.

  • what year is it? i mean the bike

  • @rpochoa '96 ZX6E

  • thats awesome that you support your son with a bike. I had to insure mine behind my parents back and hide my 03 honda 919 at my college. LOL wish i could tell them but they would make me get rid of it.

  • the only day my dad supported me was when a guy hit me while i was on my gsxr 600 and ended up in hospital with broken leg, infact im at home in bed two weeks after my accident typing this... but its pretty cool you supporting your son!!!
