You might say that some have 1000hp like all the nitwits here on youtube, but let's face reality, an RB26 engine with 1000bhp single turbo setup is going to have issues, as compared to a V8 with similar power. Not all engines are built to take that kind of power. LOL and you fail at life for replying to a comment posted ages ago

@mack1381straight engines are physically stronger then v types and there are heaps and heaps of 1000 plus gtrs and supras in japan, i have many japanese exclusive dvds and in the first dvd of hpi theres about 40, 700-1400hp gtrs running 9 and 8 second pass's on street tyres, also you see barely any breakages opposed to yank tank street draggers, i dont hate v8s ive owned 2... fact is straight 6 engine are more stable and less eractic then v types and can handel more abuse at high power levels

@twinturboteen18 straight six does have that kind of rigidity to hold huge amounts of power and torque, but once you specify the make, you can just enumerate the problems it is going to have. For me the best six is the Turbo 2JZ. The RB26 from the GT-R has some issues you know. If you do manage to work on one, you'll find out

@mack1381 all engines have issues when pushing such huge numbers just built straight 6s usually have less problems over built v8s, im not debateing which straight 6 is worse you stated that a large capacity engine will have less problems at high power levels, simply what do you base this on? what i have seen its 8s that have more problems where as a rb26 might blow a head a ls1 will blow its block. im not saying v8s are bad just at high powerlevels a 6 can handel more punishment for longer

I also am not biased towards the V8, i actually hate that engine for having even number of cylinders on each bank and not having good secondary balance. If you manage to inspect an RB26 block, you'll find areas( not the same for all blocks) that are weak and are prone to cracking. Though I also am not saying that all RB26 blocks are like this, most of them do, especially those equipped in the R32 GT-R

@mack1381 a much better reply thank you and yes that makes complete sense! the 2jzgte stock is definitly a better engine for making big relaible numbers but a built rb26 or rb26/30 seem to have many of those limitations removed, i think givin the age of the r32s now many serious drag racers or street racers would be using built later model engines inplace and from what ive seen thats the case and your dead right about the v8s, i just say i like them to avoid starting a war with the yanks lovers

@twinturboteen18 That's why NISMO created blocks that were built to last during heavy abuse with racing. These engines were specified as having the "Nur" blocks. These are the type of blocks racers go for, as these were equipped with the V-Specs. If you compare those as advertised as "Nur" an those blocks of the V-Spec II's, you'll see they're pretty much the same, and God do they have a lot of potential. The 2JZ-GTE, on the other hand, needs a reinforced tranny to keep up with the power.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on Ferrari being "reliable." You can't daily drive a Ferrari, you just can't. They are beautiful sports cars but they're more for and status than anything. Ferrari is not known for their track cars, it's their F1 cars that keep them alive. A whole different ball game there.

There used to be, but as cars on the highway gets faster and drivers get trickier, they simply quit.

Now they use cameras. They take a picture of your car, run your license plate number., find your registration, go to your home, handcuff you, throw you in jail for speeding and reckless driving, send your car to the impound and pretty much strip it stock.
