  • This doesn't make the movie so bleak now that I think about it...

  • Doesn't fit. The music is from an era where ideas were more important than market research.

  • @p2eas3 what?

  • ha ha very cool.

  • Wow ! Epic and simply Epic !!! Well done !

  • best dark knight trailer yet make one for th whole series with this music once rises comes out

  • Why didn't they use Danny Elfman to make the music for these movies? I mean what happened, did their balls drop off?

  • The only thing.... the ONLY thing that would have made "The Dark Knight" better than it already is would have been a Danny Elfman score.

  • @angelus4282 only on some parts lik as a cameo

  • They really should have had Danny Elfman do the music for the Dark Knight.

  • Awesome man. Thanks for this!

  • Absolute best part starts at 1:35. The score mixed with him on the batpod is such a pure Batman moment

  • @BruceDredd I agree at that moment and it shows that even though Batman could get killed or could just leave his profession, he just does it for the city's sake.Very Batman.

  • But anyway, nice video. Eflman's classic Batman music fit in there perfectly and definitely did make the film seem better than it really was.

  • That was, in my humble opinion, far better than the actual film. Good work.

  • EPIC !!!

  • THIS IS AWESOME! Oh god how I wish Danny Elfman still did the soundtracks for the Batman Movies....

  • And instantly you made the movie seem even better. That score. Incredible!

  • Holy shit, the music with/when Heath shouts "Hit me".....chills...

  • fantastic, from 1:20 onwards is so epic. Can't stop watching it. Even though i love han zimmer i still think Danny Elfman's soundtrack was THE batman official soundtrack.

  • Your editing of Dark Night footage with Danny Elfman's music is impressive!!! Congratulations! This shows the amazing Elfman's score would have been great in the film Nolan!

  • awesome video...one of the best ive seen

  • very cool but it wouldn't work for TDK. Elfmans theme is tailor made for the gothic, dark setting of Burtons films.

  • This makes me wanna make a trailer for it to :D Glad to see someone tried combining the 2!

  • I'm sorry but I don't understand how your video is one of the most viewed, while my video does not receive any visitors. how you do it?

  • @javielcapo12 Your video is taken down, that's why :P

  • I love the elfman theme, but dont really think it works for Nolan films. However, this actually turned out pretty badass. The beginning was kinda... meh, but midway through it really picked up and turned out great. Awesome job

  • Dude, that was awesome!

  • better than the original trailer this kicks ass

  • I made a better video than this, your video is terrible if you want to see my video and see for yourself, place it as a video response of your video, watch it and answer me if I have Reason or not

  • @javielcapo12 Why would you try to market yourself in such a manner, I'd slap you if I saw you just because. all you had to do was ask for people to view your vi, why disrespect his own to try and get people to view you, that doesn't work now a days. Kinda immature to top it off.

  • badass. the ending was the shiz

  • The Joker says "Its simple KILL THE BATMAN!!"

  • Although Danny Elfman's theme is really good, I think Hans Zimmer's music is more accurate to Christopher Nolan's batman style. But the real question is whether the darker batman series is more accurate in general. :P

  • i just relise this movie will be so much better with danny elfman :)

  • that. was. amazing.

  • sir you have earned my thumbs up

  • That was the best trailer I have seen in my generation.

  • Unfortunetly even Dannys music is not making this film any better :/

  • Comment removed

  • you did a great job on that. So far this has been my favorite fan-made trailer with danny elfman music. He's one of my favorite composers and you put it together luverly ^_~. awesome!

  • the best part is 00:59 to 1:20

  • Hey, it works!

  • The Danny Elfman theme was the number two thing I missed about the Nolan films. The number 1 thing? BATMAN! I swear the Dark Knight was like a two-hour episode of Law & Order with some guy in a Batman suit lurking in the background. Batman films are not supposed to be police dramas dammit!

  • @shadowstalker1120 actually they are. have u ever read an actual batman graphic novel? i agree that it straighed from the BATMAN himself far too much, but it is what the comics do often

  • This song should have been used in the new batman movies, i wonder why they decided to change the song. does anyone know?

  • @wicked25 Please, tell me that was a joke.

  • @wicked25 cause it doesnt suit a gritty edged batman. Keaton was gritty, but the world was cartoony as burton movies often are where as nolans was more of a down to earth retelling in a modern day which doesnt fit over dramatic themes

  • That made Batman more Heroic.

  • This so EPIC!!!

  • THIS IS FUCKING BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL TRAILER! Danny Elfman score kicks Zimmer's ass.

  • It´s pervertet!!! Danny Elfman has nothing to do... with this dumpshit, of Batman fantasie´s... Say to Nolan... he has crashed Batman!!!

  • GODDAMN! THIS IS GOOD!

    Sounds more HEROIC

  • @alanfunkle I'm sorry, thats bullshit.

He did play a good Batman in the 1989 movie.

  • good.

  • simply awsome!!!!!-good job bro

  • this is a great mash up!! Is there anywhere where I can download the music of this trailer?

  • man heath, whyd u haft 2 go and die. how we supposed to make a trilogy without joker

  • Hey guys, please don't misunderstand me. I am a huge fan of Nolan and Burton. I just thought Heath really took the characater into some nightmarish places. I am a big fan of Michael Keaton as well. Hey alanfunckle, can we at least agree George Clooney is the worst batman?

  • i mean micheal gay sorry for the typo, end of rant.

  • end of rant. get a film education nolan fanboys. micheal bay is more original than christopher "i like to rip off other peoples shit and disguise it as my own" nolan.

  • @alanfunkle huh? how is michael bay original? and what director doesnt borrow? moron

  • why do sequel franchises drop music scores, why why why. music is 80% of a film.

  • @alanfunkle um no sequal i know has dropped a score lol

  • another franchise of my youth turned to shit along with bond, star wars, star trek, superman, terminator. this movie doesnt deserve elfmans score. batman was a hero because he didnt succumb to revenge and was a police mascot, not because he was a ninja. its like watching fans of star trek 11 LOL.

  • @alanfunkle Police mascot? You don't read a whole lot of Batman, do you.

  • @alanfunkle um batman is a ninja...with a cape and cowl. u ever read a comic of his EVER?

  • oh it had to be done. I needed to see this. thank you to who ever made this video. danny elfman's score brought nolan's version of batman to a whole new level!!! bravo! hanz zimmer and james newton howard couldn't top elfman's score.

  • Suprisingly good, you made it work very well.

  • Great music, but Hans Zimmer's scores works better for the Christopher Nolan Batmans......Danny Elfman did a great job on the others......

  • @PurrimofLeir i disagree. elfma's score was far better than zimmer's and newton's.

  • Respond to this video...

  • @PurrimofLeir smart person finally says some logical sensible stuff

  • amazing

  • This is great work but please remove that stupid click to watch AVATAR. The title doesn't deserve to be on the same page as Nolan's epic film...

  • @dkempf1 silly reboot fanboys. like watching vegas elvis impersonators clap thier hands.

  • @dkempf1 thiers nothing epic about a reboot with a dark batman that burton already nailed. you cant get any darker than tim burton, thats like saying elton john isnt gay enough. batman derailed after 2 and never recovered, despite clooney at least looking like batman. bale has the charisma of spam, he needs to do a double team movie with haydeson christenson. bale makes great snobby rich villans, not hero's.

  • @dkempf1 the only thing burton messed up is the scene where bruce wayne flipps out on the joker and says you want to get nuts, otherwise thiers nothing original with nolans batman movies and a ninja batman and scarecrow getting his ass beat by batmans girlfriend is just sad as heath ledgers cheap immatation of jack nicholson with brokeback joker. bleh. silly reboot fanboys.

  • @alanfunkle actually in the comics batman did train in the at of ninja and because batman trained in many arts and really in the comics scarecrow really is that wimpy without the mask or gas

  • @alanfunkle ur an idiot

  • nice edit job the last part with joker wasnt needed but over all pretty good

  • If this is your work. YOU are a genius. The Cue matching was damn good. It was muddled with the change at about 1:24 but that is just nitpicking.

  • I actually did not enjoy this. Why? Zimmer's music with these scenes made the joker look like a complete psychopath, not just another criminal.

  • NICE!!!!

  • That would have been great. Very good job.

  • music actually goes pretty good together

  • epic man!

  • Great job. Please don't ever compare this great achievement in cinema to that stupid Avatar movie. They're not in the same league. Avatar didn' t deserve a nomination. The Dark Knight should have been best picture. Just my opinion...

  • The best Batman movie is the Batman Returns!! (Sorry Nolan..)

  • i got fucking chills watching this with the old music

  • @Greatness114 yeah, i did too. this was awesome.

  • if only heath was in tim burton's batman

  • @gilllie666 It wouldve ben VERY interesting but jack was good too.

  • I wish that Elfman did the music for he new film. And that Christian Bale didn't that stupid voice when he was Batman. God, that wa annoying...

  • @AshillaBeige He has no choice, it's in the script made by Nolan. In Begins it was okay but in Dark Knight Nolan edited it

  • I like Hans Zimmer's and Howard Shore's theme more

  • So Avatar gets a best picture nomination but this brilliant, epic film doesn't?

  • @dkempf1 remeber Avatar was a 90 minute " ooohhhh thats so pretty!" movie which ahd little to no good story. Hollywood likes the shiny object remeber that.

  • @dkempf1 Avatar was a heaping pile in comparison to this masterpiece.

  • @dkempf1 it not so great

    this film is so overhyped

overrated it good but not great

  • @bob47able

I agree. This movie was completely overhyped (Heath Ledger's passing has a lot to do with that) and has become widely overrated. It's an okay movie, not a "Masterpiece" by any means. At least in my opinion.

I much rather prefer Burton's Batman films. Both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight bored me for the most part. The only scenes worth remembering from TDK were all the scenes with The Joker. Heath Ledger MADE that movie. Without him, it would only have been half successful.

  • @SlasherIncorporated As someone who was pulled in by the hype I agree. When I first saw it I thought it was the best batman film ever! But after several more views I still think its a good film but I've notice some things about it that makes me realize its not the masterpiece I thought it was when I first saw it. (Like the plot holes, the chopy editing, and trying to jam too much in to the story) I still enjoy the movie but I know its not as great as we all made it out to be.

  • @SlasherIncorporated - Batman Begins was far better than The Dark Knight. Yet, they don't compare to Burton's version. I mean, Gotham City was so amazing and the first batman is a work of art! Also, Elfman is amazing, what hasn't that guy written?

  • That's the only thing that could have made this movie any better. Is if Elfman wrote the score.

  • EPIC

  • Nostalgia overdose...

  • Epic mix!!!

  • Makes me wish there was a version of the Dark Knight with Elfman's score out there somewhere... oh well, this trailer is more than enough awesomeness for now...

  • I would shit my pants if they would use danny elfman in the next movie. HIS SCORES ARE FUCKING AMAZING.

  • @frcluc

    great shout!

and when they make batman of the future.. cos you know at sum stage they will...i hope they bring back michael keaton to play an ageing bruce wayne...and wen he appears in the movie hit the danny elfman theme.

  • I think if danny would have done this one it would be darker becouse there's not a "the hero wins" . however well done

  • Well done.

  • much better !

    Best theme: Danny Elfman

    Best Bruce Wayne: Christian Bale

    Best Batman: Michael Keaton

  • dude i couldnt agree more!!!!

  • I agree with this 100%...

actually no i disagree a little.

    Best Batman: Kevin Conroy.

And I'll add in Mark Hamill for my favorite Joker.

  • @frcluc

Best Batman has to be Kevin Conroy!

  • I agree 100 % !!!

  • @frcluc and Best Joker? Heath Ledger!

  • @NewSuperAvenger Heath was a great Joker. But the character, I.e the one written in the script, was just a run of the mill evil dude who just did shit. He wasn't crazy, gripping or even funny. Heath however made the character in the script better than it ever was.

  • @starkiller20293 um thats the point of casting specific people. to bring light to a character. nolan new this...

  • @frcluc but this music is too triumphant for nolans batman which is gritty

  • For 'The Dark Knight', I think they should have kept the Joker's theme (Why So Serious?), but extract every other piece of music composed by Zimmer and Howard and replace it with Elfman's superb original compositions.

The music of the Burton Batman films is irrefutably superior to the music of Nolan's films. Indeed, the music of the original series is the only production value that ranks superior when in comparison with it's contemporary equivalent from the new series.

  • the contrast between film scores/composers for the same movie is definitely staggering

it might just be because im used to the zimmer/howard version by now, but i feel like elfmans scoring is too ostentatious and covers the action rather than adds to it

elfman did the original batman movies great justice, but i feel like zimmer and howard took the music in the right direction for the more recent films, complementing the subtle yet powerful mood conveyed by nolan

  • How humourous, as my sentiments are the exact opposite. I fell like Zimmer/Howard's scores only cover the action of the films, while Elfman's compositions add a whole extra dimension otherwise absent to the Batman films.

  • haha

its amusing how the same music can spark such contrasting feelings

no use arguing such a subjective topic

agree to disagree fellow film score enthusiast!

  • Agreed.

  • @SIngli6 which is?

  • I like it a loooot

  • Kurwa, wyśmienite

  • this is amazing

  • I'm pleased to see you consider your comment so important as to post it twice. You might be taking the phrase 'My Two Cents' a little bit to literally.

  • ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • 'You live, YOU DIE!!!!!'

  • good vid

  • nice

  • They should have had Danny Elfmans music with Hans Zimmer's music for the movie now that would be bad ass!!!

  • BEST TRAILER EVER!!!!!!

  • Best movie i've ever seen, but WHY PRETEND LIKE ELFMAN NEVER MADE THE AWESOME THEME!?!?!

  • becuase nolan thinks in his delluisonal head taht batman is his creation. and that only his movies exsist.

  • yeah i could believe that.

  • Even though hans zimmer score was a masterpiece, that right there made it much more epic with danny elfmans touch on it. ahh cinema is great!!!

  • great job man. im impressed. but i have to agree with nakia4747, im glad they used han zeimers version

  • cool but im glad they used han zeimer's one, this one wasn't as intens, but still good job

  • From 1:22 onward is the best part of this incredible video. The timing was so well done.

  • A M A Z I N G !!!

The ending when Harvey is talking is great!

  • Wow, this is amazing.

  • I gotta, uhm, say, that was fucking great.

Didn't seem inappropriate at all. Cuz Elfman's theme is Batman. Just as William's is Superman.

This was well synced too. Very nicely done. Bravo, spine-tingling, all that jazz.

'And now, folks, it's time for "Who do you trust!" Hubba, hubba, hubba! Money, money, money! Who do you trust? Me? I'm giving away free money. And where is the Batman? HE'S AT HOME WASHING HIS TIGHTS!'

    But seriously....

Who needs Smilex when you've got Elfman on your side?

  • I know, and I love Hans Zimmer's music, and I love Christopher Nolan's Batman films almost as much as I love Tim Burton's, but dammit, there is no excuse whatsoever for Danny Elfman's theme not being used. I hope they don't pull this shit when they get the Superman reboot made.

  • Epic Just plain & simply Epic

  • The only problem I have with Nolan's Batman is you sacrifice the fun to make it in the realms of reality, in other words it's not like that of Batman 1989 or Returns which is a roller coaster fun comic book ride that suspends reality. Don't get me wrong I love Nolan's view on The Batman and the connection with reality but Nolan's Batman well never have that "FUN" quality with the world and score. If you can understand what I mean?

  • i understand completely. example Jacks Joker was very entertaining and heath was good too but as a more adult like joker. The 89 film you can watch over and over and over and never get bored. TDK is good too but just gets boring and preachy after ahwile.

  • Good fuckin Job

  • I must say the music fits perfectly, gave me goosebumps, well done.

  • Fantastically well done! Bravo!

  • man i went an saw orig tim burton film when i was 13.. so when i heard they making batman begins.. the orig music soundtrack is all i wanted to return as how could that be topped.... so for me THAT WAS F@#KING AWSOME..... thanx..

  • Wow that was art.

  • Wow that was so cool. The music at the beginning fits so well with the way you made the trailer. That's one of my only criticisms of the new series, that it doesn't have a very moving score. Loved it!

  • wtf are you talkin about? HZ/JNH's score kicks ass

  • riiight. it's actually boring.

  • Its not bad. They just don't make 'em like they used to. Well Elfman still does. Haha

  • it does kick ass alot. I like Nolan series better than Bruton's series but the music in Burton did feel majestic but it couldnt fit in Nolan's films anyway

  • Hmmm, I dunno about that. When you superimpose it over Nolan's films then yeah it doesn't suit. But if that style of soundtrack was still done it might work.

  • problem is nola

  • no i think the problem is that those themes were made for specific movies. if they kept the same general idea of the batman theme from elfman and just made it a little darker, it would have worked wonders and made me nostalgia hard. the only reason they wouldn't do so (that I can fathom) is because they don't want to feel like they're doing something that's already been done. either that or they're egotistical jerks.

  • Chills!

  • what was the music that started at 1:22?

  • To Boywholuvsgirls, that track is "Finale" from Elfman's 1989 Batman score.

The first track heard was "Descent into Mystery" from the same score.

  • it's "finale" from the original score album to batman 1989

  • Danny Elfman is gifted.

  • What was the second part of the music from, where it is somewat happier than the origonal batman theme

  • Very good job

  • This is absolutely EXCELLENT. Wonderful music choice, and your timing of clips with the sounds in the track were excellent. I really enjoyed the specific, snippets and moments that you chose; they go very well with the dramatic music. The little ending bit, with the change of music, and that line of Harvey Dent's...good, very good.

  • this is hands down the best fan trailer i have seen for the dark knight.
