@BruceDredd I agree at that moment and it shows that even though Batman could get killed or could just leave his profession, he just does it for the city's sake.Very Batman.
fantastic, from 1:20 onwards is so epic. Can't stop watching it. Even though i love han zimmer i still think Danny Elfman's soundtrack was THE batman official soundtrack.
Your editing of Dark Night footage with Danny Elfman's music is impressive!!! Congratulations! This shows the amazing Elfman's score would have been great in the film Nolan!
Danny Elfman's score fit Tim Burton's vision the same way Zimmerman's score fit Nolan's. They're both very fitting, however, I must admit, I'd like to see the Dark Knight set to Elfman's score
I love the elfman theme, but dont really think it works for Nolan films. However, this actually turned out pretty badass. The beginning was kinda... meh, but midway through it really picked up and turned out great. Awesome job
I made a better video than this, your video is terrible if you want to see my video and see for yourself, place it as a video response of your video, watch it and answer me if I have Reason or not
@javielcapo12 Why would you try to market yourself in such a manner, I'd slap you if I saw you just because. all you had to do was ask for people to view your vi, why disrespect his own to try and get people to view you, that doesn't work now a days. Kinda immature to top it off.
Although Danny Elfman's theme is really good, I think Hans Zimmer's music is more accurate to Christopher Nolan's batman style. But the real question is whether the darker batman series is more accurate in general. :P
you did a great job on that. So far this has been my favorite fan-made trailer with danny elfman music. He's one of my favorite composers and you put it together luverly ^_~. awesome!
The Danny Elfman theme was the number two thing I missed about the Nolan films. The number 1 thing? BATMAN! I swear the Dark Knight was like a two-hour episode of Law & Order with some guy in a Batman suit lurking in the background. Batman films are not supposed to be police dramas dammit!
@shadowstalker1120 actually they are. have u ever read an actual batman graphic novel? i agree that it straighed from the BATMAN himself far too much, but it is what the comics do often
@wicked25 cause it doesnt suit a gritty edged batman. Keaton was gritty, but the world was cartoony as burton movies often are where as nolans was more of a down to earth retelling in a modern day which doesnt fit over dramatic themes
Hey guys, please don't misunderstand me. I am a huge fan of Nolan and Burton. I just thought Heath really took the characater into some nightmarish places. I am a big fan of Michael Keaton as well. Hey alanfunckle, can we at least agree George Clooney is the worst batman?
end of rant. get a film education nolan fanboys. micheal bay is more original than christopher "i like to rip off other peoples shit and disguise it as my own" nolan.

oh it had to be done. I needed to see this. thank you to who ever made this video. danny elfman's score brought nolan's version of batman to a whole new level!!! bravo! hanz zimmer and james newton howard couldn't top elfman's score.
@dkempf1 thiers nothing epic about a reboot with a dark batman that burton already nailed. you cant get any darker than tim burton, thats like saying elton john isnt gay enough. batman derailed after 2 and never recovered, despite clooney at least looking like batman. bale has the charisma of spam, he needs to do a double team movie with haydeson christenson. bale makes great snobby rich villans, not hero's.
@dkempf1 the only thing burton messed up is the scene where bruce wayne flipps out on the joker and says you want to get nuts, otherwise thiers nothing original with nolans batman movies and a ninja batman and scarecrow getting his ass beat by batmans girlfriend is just sad as heath ledgers cheap immatation of jack nicholson with brokeback joker. bleh. silly reboot fanboys.
@alanfunkle actually in the comics batman did train in the at of ninja and because batman trained in many arts and really in the comics scarecrow really is that wimpy without the mask or gas
The only problem I have with Nolan's Batman is you sacrifice the fun to make it in the realms of reality, in other words it's not like that of Batman 1989 or Returns which is a roller coaster fun comic book ride that suspends reality. Don't get me wrong I love Nolan's view on The Batman and the connection with reality but Nolan's Batman well never have that "FUN" quality with the world and score. If you can understand what I mean?
Great job. Please don't ever compare this great achievement in cinema to that stupid Avatar movie. They're not in the same league. Avatar didn' t deserve a nomination. The Dark Knight should have been best picture. Just my opinion...
@dkempf1 remeber Avatar was a 90 minute " ooohhhh thats so pretty!" movie which ahd little to no good story. Hollywood likes the shiny object remeber that.
I agree. This movie was completely overhyped (Heath Ledger's passing has a lot to do with that) and has become widely overrated. It's an okay movie, not a "Masterpiece" by any means. At least in my opinion.

@SlasherIncorporated As someone who was pulled in by the hype I agree. When I first saw it I thought it was the best batman film ever! But after several more views I still think its a good film but I've notice some things about it that makes me realize its not the masterpiece I thought it was when I first saw it. (Like the plot holes, the chopy editing, and trying to jam too much in to the story) I still enjoy the movie but I know its not as great as we all made it out to be.
@SlasherIncorporated - Batman Begins was far better than The Dark Knight. Yet, they don't compare to Burton's version. I mean, Gotham City was so amazing and the first batman is a work of art! Also, Elfman is amazing, what hasn't that guy written?
Makes me wish there was a version of the Dark Knight with Elfman's score out there somewhere... oh well, this trailer is more than enough awesomeness for now...
and when they make batman of the future.. cos you know at sum stage they will...i hope they bring back michael keaton to play an ageing bruce wayne...and wen he appears in the movie hit the danny elfman theme.
@NewSuperAvenger Heath was a great Joker. But the character, I.e the one written in the script, was just a run of the mill evil dude who just did shit. He wasn't crazy, gripping or even funny. Heath however made the character in the script better than it ever was.

How humourous, as my sentiments are the exact opposite. I fell like Zimmer/Howard's scores only cover the action of the films, while Elfman's compositions add a whole extra dimension otherwise absent to the Batman films.
I'm pleased to see you consider your comment so important as to post it twice. You might be taking the phrase 'My Two Cents' a little bit to literally.
Didn't seem inappropriate at all. Cuz Elfman's theme is Batman. Just as William's is Superman.
This was well synced too. Very nicely done. Bravo, spine-tingling, all that jazz.
'And now, folks, it's time for "Who do you trust!" Hubba, hubba, hubba! Money, money, money! Who do you trust? Me? I'm giving away free money. And where is the Batman? HE'S AT HOME WASHING HIS TIGHTS!'
But seriously....
Who needs Smilex when you've got Elfman on your side?
I know, and I love Hans Zimmer's music, and I love Christopher Nolan's Batman films almost as much as I love Tim Burton's, but dammit, there is no excuse whatsoever for Danny Elfman's theme not being used. I hope they don't pull this shit when they get the Superman reboot made.
If you can understand what I mean?
i understand completely. example Jacks Joker was very entertaining and heath was good too but as a more adult like joker. The 89 film you can watch over and over and over and never get bored. TDK is good too but just gets boring and preachy after ahwile.
man i went an saw orig tim burton film when i was 13.. so when i heard they making batman begins.. the orig music soundtrack is all i wanted to return as how could that be topped.... so for me THAT WAS F@#KING AWSOME..... thanx..
Wow that was so cool. The music at the beginning fits so well with the way you made the trailer. That's one of my only criticisms of the new series, that it doesn't have a very moving score. Loved it!
it does kick ass alot. I like Nolan series better than Bruton's series but the music in Burton did feel majestic but it couldnt fit in Nolan's films anyway
Hmmm, I dunno about that. When you superimpose it over Nolan's films then yeah it doesn't suit. But if that style of soundtrack was still done it might work.
no i think the problem is that those themes were made for specific movies. if they kept the same general idea of the batman theme from elfman and just made it a little darker, it would have worked wonders and made me nostalgia hard. the only reason they wouldn't do so (that I can fathom) is because they don't want to feel like they're doing something that's already been done. either that or they're egotistical jerks.
This is absolutely EXCELLENT. Wonderful music choice, and your timing of clips with the sounds in the track were excellent. I really enjoyed the specific, snippets and moments that you chose; they go very well with the dramatic music. The little ending bit, with the change of music, and that line of Harvey Dent's...good, very good.
This doesn't make the movie so bleak now that I think about it...

Best movie i've ever seen, but WHY PRETEND LIKE ELFMAN NEVER MADE THE AWESOME THEME!?!?!
curtithird 2 years ago
becuase nolan thinks in his delluisonal head taht batman is his creation. and that only his movies exsist.
starkiller20293 2 years ago
yeah i could believe that.
tehawes0mesauce 2 years ago
Even though hans zimmer score was a masterpiece, that right there made it much more epic with danny elfmans touch on it. ahh cinema is great!!!

Wow, this is amazing.

I gotta, uhm, say, that was fucking great.
Tsujanryo 2 years ago 3
I know, and I love Hans Zimmer's music, and I love Christopher Nolan's Batman films almost as much as I love Tim Burton's, but dammit, there is no excuse whatsoever for Danny Elfman's theme not being used. I hope they don't pull this shit when they get the Superman reboot made.

Epic Just plain & simply Epic

The only problem I have with Nolan's Batman is you sacrifice the fun to make it in the realms of reality, in other words it's not like that of Batman 1989 or Returns which is a roller coaster fun comic book ride that suspends reality. Don't get me wrong I love Nolan's view on The Batman and the connection with reality but Nolan's Batman well never have that "FUN" quality with the world and score. If you can understand what I mean?
balianmachiavelli 2 years ago 4
i understand completely. example Jacks Joker was very entertaining and heath was good too but as a more adult like joker. The 89 film you can watch over and over and over and never get bored. TDK is good too but just gets boring and preachy after ahwile.

Wow that was so cool. The music at the beginning fits so well with the way you made the trailer. That's one of my only criticisms of the new series, that it doesn't have a very moving score. Loved it!
ProZakck 2 years ago
wtf are you talkin about? HZ/JNH's score kicks ass

riiight. it's actually boring.

Its not bad. They just don't make 'em like they used to. Well Elfman still does. Haha
ProZakck 2 years ago
it does kick ass alot. I like Nolan series better than Bruton's series but the music in Burton did feel majestic but it couldnt fit in Nolan's films anyway
batman93oo 2 years ago
Hmmm, I dunno about that. When you superimpose it over Nolan's films then yeah it doesn't suit. But if that style of soundtrack was still done it might work.
PetrosofSparta 2 years ago
problem is nola
batman93oo 2 years ago
no i think the problem is that those themes were made for specific movies. if they kept the same general idea of the batman theme from elfman and just made it a little darker, it would have worked wonders and made me nostalgia hard. the only reason they wouldn't do so (that I can fathom) is because they don't want to feel like they're doing something that's already been done. either that or they're egotistical jerks.

what was the music that started at 1:22?
boywholuvsgirls 2 years ago
To Boywholuvsgirls, that track is "Finale" from Elfman's 1989 Batman score.
The first track heard was "Descent into Mystery" from the same score.
Scruffy193 2 years ago
it's "finale" from the original score album to batman 1989

Danny Elfman is gifted.

What was the second part of the music from, where it is somewat happier than the origonal batman theme

Very good job

This is absolutely EXCELLENT. Wonderful music choice, and your timing of clips with the sounds in the track were excellent. I really enjoyed the specific, snippets and moments that you chose; they go very well with the dramatic music. The little ending bit, with the change of music, and that line of Harvey Dent's...good, very good.
