wow!.....so loved that rendition... probably one of the best songs ever written.... I was a kid in 67 with an AM radio......beautiful. And by the way... "Sky Pilot" coined the sound of my entire generation. The Animals wrote not only amazing songs... but poetry too. they were masterpieces!!!....
I am so hooked to Eric Burdon...incredible....he is 20 years my senior...but his music is awesome. If it is true what I have read, he lives 45 minutes from me...that would be so awesome to meet him. Knowing me, I'd probably freeze. I had my picture taken with Joe Montana, when it was my turn, I was so star struck, it was over before I knew it...picture was great.
this version of the song is my fav vocal of Eric's singing this song, shows he can be soft and low too. Love the bit at 2.04 when he kinda breathes... "San Francisco". Gorgeous :)))
American Holocaust occurring, and like Europe of yesteryear, only a few people notice, and even less care. Cover your nads was the message given to me by an F DIC accountant after another accountant who was a vet said not to work for the fed. They leave people in wheelchairs and chew up little babies for profit. Maybe they have already met their match.

A classic single from the band, which like most of their other hits (I am talking about the original Animals as well as the US based one here), it has been overlooked in the face of one particular song. The albums from the New Animals are also worth a visit too.
Awesome song, and not widely appreciated, like their big hits. Kinda like how the Chilli Pepper's best songs are always album cuts. Like Road Trippin' or Could've Lied.
thankyou julian tome pictures for uploading eric burdon and the animals song san franciscan nights live 1968. it is my favorite song, good hearing it live, so if you have anymore eric burdon and the animals live 1968 that be great, once again thankyou
Well I have this one Monterey two disc cd i got from walmart. IT contained this tune and its just awesome song, in my mind it was the song of the festival+
This one's good but THE song of the festival... i think it'd be high Flyin' Bird by Jefferson Airplane. I don't think I've heard Grace Slick singing that good on any other track!
This intro is 1000 times better than the one on the record.

This Live interplay of twin Lead guitars beginning at 2:05 is quite beautiful. Vic Briggs
and John Weider were skilled professionals. In a mere six months, the magic of the
"New Animals" would end. Briggs, as band director, arranger, was fired, in a power
struggle he passively began with a question to management. Our loss of a great
UK Band.
