as a commuter i see that 90% of cars are solo drivers. unless it drives itself these guys have lost their minds. some governments are considering fines for drinking coffee. come on, seriously
*screen pops up on the dashboard, plays "Footloose"*
"Damn, this is such a good mov - "
*car crashes into house*
Really? Is this the "future"? Aren't we trying to BAN texting and driving, but yet we're going to ALLOW watching MOVIES while driving the car? Come on. Stupidity at it's finest...
You're right - this isn't a Porsche! It's a Prius and the video is from 2009. A more recent QNX video is Seamless Connectivity on QNXcam. Oh, and details on this year’s concept car (a Porsche Carrera) can be found on Paul Leroux's On Q blog.
RIM made a good choice by acquiring QNX however it's going to come down to marketing that determines the success of this automotive technology. With ideas like this tho and RIM's stock being at an all-time low, it's worth investing into now if you ask me.
@MsPostful That's a really good observation...noticed it a while back. RIM is a wounded animal right now...it doesn't wanna die so it's gonna do everything it has to bounce back...new better products are coming out.
love the vid and info. However, a Porsche not quite. Maybe, it's good that it's a main stream vehicle. Still waiting for my 2.0 QNX update. Skype better be there as well.

Microsoft owns Skype -- you can imagine how eager they are to port it to their competitors...
