I am 28 years old and I will tell you, from someone who has been a FAN SINCE i was 3 years old (whole family grew up around it and still do) Hogan is the man. This is a FACT NOT AN OPPINION!!! There are many newer fans (98 and newer) that doesnt agree but trust me there is ONLY ONE man who did more for there sport than anyone else!!!! He is the babe ruth/michael jordan of wrestling.

HBk over sold like two moves in the match at this time hogan had so much trouble with his back hip knees etc. shawn and to over work a lil but the boot at the end was too much

it was pretty cool that hogan kicked out of the super kick but the rest was pretty rediculous, I actually saw this in person, it was in D.C. at the Verizon Center. Just looked it up to see if I could remember it or not.

I think it might of been August 21, 2005 but I am not sure of the date. But, I saw this match live in person. Even though HBK was considered a heel here. It is still an emance honor to see him perform in the ring. In fact I saw him again at Survivor Series 2009. in Washington, DC.

@andyjohnD When Hogan stoped jobbing and started putting himself up in every match, WCW went out of business. HBK grow up over the years and didn't refuse to lose a match if that means putting on a great show. Also, this was Summer Slam 2005. WWE just had Hogan re-signed and needed a great main event for Summer Slam. They put Hogan and Michaels and billed it an Icon Vs Icon match (or an Icon Vs Showstoper match, something like that). I fail to see any comparison between Hogan X HBK and Montreal.

To be fair, Bret was being a prick not dropping the title at the PPV despite knowing he is leaving the company for a different promotion. And I say that as someone who likes him but almost all top guys are like politicians for the most part, you have to call em out when they are wrong and Bret was wrong not wanting to drop it cleanly. To answer ashes' question, yes, I'd guess Michaels oversold because of the politics. He wanted a non-clean or DQ finish, whereas Hogan insisted on a clean win over him. Then he pitched a rematch, so that they'd each have a win, but Hogan didn't want to do it. Michaels was arrogant enough about his politicking abilities that he didn't pin all this stuff down prior to agreeing to the program in the first place, so he had to do what Hogan wanted... hence the bitter promos and the overselling.

NEW! I've been watching since 2001. So I obvisouly can't be that new. And yes I've seen Hogan bodyslam Andre. While that was immpressive. I've also watch some matches from the 90's.
