I've been watching your videos for several weeks now - maybe even a couple of months - and I have to say, your (H) dungeon videos are still some of the best out there.
You are very informative not only about the tanking aspect, but of the the party as a whole. My tanking has improved immensely due to your instruction and therefore I always come back every to watch your videos again for things I may not have picked up on previously.
Whats the name on that addon where its a red bar over them who shows when you have aggro or not, when its red you dont have aggro, when its green you have aggro ;) ?
Oh, and just watched your video on Prot Pally boredom. Hehe, I feel the same about my Ret Pally. There are many reasons id suggest staying Prot. One is the queue time (welcome to 30 mins+). Secondly, EVERYONE does DPS. And yes, Ret Pallys do it best. BUT, Its the least needed spec of any class (when filling raids, dungeons etc.). As with any class/spec I think youll find that Ret Pallys are relegated to 5-6 hot keys like any other. Just as DPS your limited in many other ways.
Lost my tanking virginity last night on that boss with shatter/ground slam. I was Ret Pally and the tank was so bad people wanted me to try. After three attempts we pulled through, lol! And I had Ret Pally Glyphs and no gems in my Prot Pally gear set, hehe. Only reason it took three trys is I didnt know the fight details (namely, Ground Slam). Im addicted to tanking now and am trying to learn the fights. DPS is soooooo boring. Tanking (and healing) at least require some skill.
I enjoy all your videos man, and they've helped me out a bit on playing my DK.
As for the third boss, the real reason to have damage take the Paralyze debuff off you is because if it's allowed to last its full duration you'll take 50000 damage.

I am using Tidy plates with threat plates aswell...but have a problem. When i watch ur film...all plates are of team members and pets.....I cannot get that to work here. Can be confusing when 3 pets and team members stand close to a grp ....u know...makes it messy to look at with all those plates jumping around.
Are u using another addon or just tweaking treat plates ?

For the flayers, Im pretty sure you can just walk through them and still hit them while they do that damn frenzy without taking damage.
And you shoulda bitched out the mage, tanks should pull in PUG's cause only they know what they can handle, the mage was arrogant and crappy IMO, but you handled it well, so kudos.

Great heroic tanking guide! It'd be awesome if you can keep telling us what is important to get CC'd in trash mobs. I find them quite challenging while boss's are somewhat easier due to the amount of info we get from other videos about boss's abilities.
The only people that say cataclysm heroics are hard these days are the nabs that r too lazy to learn/do such a simple thing because well their idiots, and the professional players such as myself and many others maybe of said it was HARDER than normal 85 cata dungeons back in the first week of cata launch.

Wow you're whole group was awful, except for you and the healer, the warrior did pitiful dps, the mage was pulling by himself and rushing, the rogue was ok... but then again wasn't doing much to try and survive. I hate getting retard groups.
Also, Is the threat color thing default on the tidyplates ? Or do I need another addon for it, or is it "within" tidyplates when I dl it from curse.com ? ?
Can I see his armory, all of my items are 333 (except few 346) and I cant crit 30k :( my dmg is weak and tanking is hard. This one of the best Heroic vids iv seen so far. As a new wow player "NOOB" its going to help me out a hole lot because i dont realy to make to many errors when i start doing Heroic dungeons.
I believe that if you were to write /cast [@target] Avenger Shield, and used that instead of the ability it wouldn't pick a target for you.
Not sure though, and I'm guessing you know your way around a macro and probably already thought of this but hey, just wanted to help you out for a change.

This is Towelliee. CS according to all the numbers and theory crafting we have done on Maintankadin always ends up on top of HOTR. HOTR has 2 components. One being the Actual HOTR hit and. the second is what we call the HaNOVA which is the AOE effect of HOTR that is that extra damage you are seeing. CS will be even more ahead of HOTR after the patch when it gets a 20% weapon dmg increase.
@tgnWorldOfWarcraft Towelliee I ask because I've seen what you are saying but not being a theory crafter wanted to ask..CS on single target I completely agree, but on mutli-target doesn't HOTR apply the SOV stacks to all targets? At what number of adds do the scale tip from CS to HOTR? Is the theorycrafting based on getting max DPS or threat sustainment? I assume DPS.
@Ra1d3r thats debatable. Im not positive but from my tests Hotr actually does more damage. I used to look at recount and see that CS does more damage, but what i failed to notice is that Hotr will hit a boss twice per use of the spell. Now im not super sure about any of this, just a little experimenting i did. A little food for thought anyway.
Nice effects at the beginning. Seeing you talk for 44 minutes was excruciating. No offense but lose the cam feed unless you're gonna record yourself playing and tanking. Videos like this are called "skip overs."
@blubbrnaut The cam feed is something very specific to my Video style, as well as long videos, I understand it's not for everyone, but your feedback is still appreciated.
Pretty decent there brother. Next time you have a priest healer or dps for those quake guys just have them cast Levitate on the entire party. Saves you from crap dps dying because they are idiots or dont care.

That was probably the best walkthrough guide I have seen. The funny thing is I didnt realise how long it was till I finished watching it since I assumed the vids are usually 15 mins long and clips cut off xD

This is Towelliee. CS according to all the numbers and theory crafting we have done on Maintankadin always ends up on top of HOTR. HOTR has 2 components. One being the Actual HOTR hit and. the second is what we call the HaNOVA which is the AOE effect of HOTR that is that extra damage you are seeing. CS will be even more ahead of HOTR after the patch when it gets a 20% weapon dmg increase.

@tgnWorldOfWarcraft Towelliee I ask because I've seen what you are saying but not being a theory crafter wanted to ask..CS on single target I completely agree, but on mutli-target doesn't HOTR apply the SOV stacks to all targets? At what number of adds do the scale tip from CS to HOTR? Is the theorycrafting based on getting max DPS or threat sustainment? I assume DPS.

why are you using hotr for singletarget threat? cs does more damage and threat. try it, its better :>

@Ra1d3r thats debatable. Im not positive but from my tests Hotr actually does more damage. I used to look at recount and see that CS does more damage, but what i failed to notice is that Hotr will hit a boss twice per use of the spell. Now im not super sure about any of this, just a little experimenting i did. A little food for thought anyway.

Nice effects at the beginning. Seeing you talk for 44 minutes was excruciating. No offense but lose the cam feed unless you're gonna record yourself playing and tanking. Videos like this are called "skip overs."

Pretty decent there brother. Next time you have a priest healer or dps for those quake guys just have them cast Levitate on the entire party. Saves you from crap dps dying because they are idiots or dont care.
