  • another thing: i love how christians have several diferent explanations for everything. i thought our existence on earth was the result of a mistake made by adam and eve, and a punishment, something so nasty that god had to kill huimself to fix it. but then they say that your life is art of god's plan and that you have a lesson to learn and what not. are we here to be punished or are we here to get some great work done?

  • @topperheartramada Our existence was not because of the mistake of Adam and Eve. Sin and evil were the result of Adam and Eve.

  • @elibeth121 i thought sin and evil existed before adam and eve. wasn't the snake evil? and didn't the tree reveal to them the knowledge of good and evil? which begs the question why god would punish someone with no concept of right and wrong. but anyway, the reason we are on earth is that adam and eve were banished there and told to be fruitful and multiply. ultimately it is god who is evil in this story. monstrously evil and twisted, in need of psychiatric help.

  • @topperheartramada well technically the fall of the Lucifer was before Adam and Eve. However God had told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree, they knew it was wrong. They chose to sin. God is all loving, he is not a monster, he is not twisted and he is not wrong. He is a loving God

  • @elibeth121 Yeah, but if Adam and Eve had no knowledge of good and evil, it would be silly to hold them responsible for their actions. It's like leaving a bunch of kids alone at home with a loaded gun on the table and then being shocked when someone got shot. Plus anyone who punishes people like that, including the entire human race, then threatening them with eternal punishment if they didn't love him is a mental patient.

  • What's the point? How about this: the point is to at least try and figure out the truth, rather than follow someone like a sheep. Seriously, was Socrates wasting his time?

  • Any ID on the intro song?

  • Heaven : eternal worship of god - fail 1 SINGLE time in worshipping god, and you will be cast in to hell - just ask lucifer. The first 100 years of total and absolute worship I think I could do, if REALLY pressed. The first 1000 years will be difficult. The first million years will definitely be agony - the first BILLION years of CONSTANT worship will REALLY be flossing my nerves, and then you suddenly realize : OMG 1 BILLION years is JUST the beginning of eternity. Sounds like utter hell to me

  • I don't believe in anything 100%

  • que the song "I believe" ;-)

cmon matt, FSM and IPU must be considered at least

I personally like sex , ice cream , chocolate and other stuff. Do I get those after I dies ? I don't know so I chose to live and have some of those things now.

  • So Ya'll don't beileve in anything?? -The favorite ignorant question I guess.

  • hmm, being that atoms are 99.9% empty space. i think it's safe to say that i believe in nothing.

  • "No, a stripper isn't initially naked." lmao!!

  • Atheists Don't Believe In Anything? YES WE FUCKIN DO!

  • What did cats being worshiped have to do with weather or not cats believe in a god? I mean if god exists does he worship another god? The women that talked in the caller's background was fucking stupid...

  • "Why don't you just slit your wrists right now."

Jeez, what a callous and perverted thing for this caller to say. Not only that but it was grossly ignorant. I don't see how this dim-wit can make these positive claims and in the same breath admit he "doesn't know and isn't sure"....moron!! LOL

  • religious people aren't stupid, they just haven't ever honestly questioned their beliefs. All of us atheists that were once christian for a long time, had to go through those small steps to get to the big one. Let's not discriminate against people for their views, we get enough of that with our dollar bill.

  • I've never had anybody properly explain to me what 'believe IN' means.

  • @TheOmegajuice I would say to "believe IN" means that you accept something as true without a good reason...

Are you focusing on the word "in" because it generally means to be "inside" something? Like when I'm not

"in" my house, I'm "outside" of it.

    I'm confused...

  • @Zentz29 I'd like a religious person to explain to me what "I believe in God" means compared to "I believe that God exists/ is good/ whatever"

I didn't mean it geographically lol. Then I'd be able to say "I believe in the Christian Church" because I have been in a Christian church and I have beliefs, therefore I have had beliefs IN a Christian Church... not quite what I meant.

  • I really love Matt's Old Christian Granny voice: "Look, ah told ya he was immahral! Thinkin' 'bout SEX all th'taahm!"

  • How is it so difficult to comprehend? "A" - "Theism." To be without a theistic belief system. To not belong to any doctrine of faith. They spend their lives fearing hell, totally devoted to this concept of an afterlife. We have no worries about what comes next and simply enjoy what we have now. Christians fear death, though they claim they believe the next life is better. I truly doubt that most Christians actually believe this crap.

  • For one minute don't worry if there is a God or not. Just read Revelation 12 "the woman clothed by the sun". She is a parable about the astrological alignment which occurs in Sept 2011. Comet Elenin (extinction level event near impact nemesis) arrives within days of this astro alignment. It's a warning from ancient times about the dragon (comet) and the shaking or shifting of the earth it causes. Oceans will roll up on the coasts all over the world killing millions. Help others to know.

  • Wow, what a jackass. (the caller I mean.)

  • There is no rational evidence that a god exists... Everyone that phones up is an idiot who gets their asses handed to them!

  • These videos are just as bad as harold camping predicting the end of the world.

  • @smurfboywv Why?

  • @translucentorb Because its all fake, misleading, and irrelevant.

  • @smurfboywv, How so?

  • @translucentorb The word of God tells us .

  • @smurfboywv How do you define god and how do you receive god's word?

  • @translucentorb God the father, the creator, the almighty one, the one person who will never forsake you, never leave you, and never push you aside like last weeks trash. You receive God's word through prayer, faith, and repentance.

  • @smurfboywv Oh so you're saying the beliefe in this god figure is more tenable than facts and logic? And since facts and logic don't exactly sync up with how you wish reality exists, content such as presented above is dangerous and scary, when obviously people should be more like you, am I right?

  • @translucentorb In your own mind you are right. God is not a figure, he is our Lord and King.

  • Comment removed

  • @smurfboywv God is lord and king of what?

  • @translucentorb Are you playing dumb, or are you really dumb? Oh wait, you just want to play games.

    Well I don't so bye.

  • @smurfboywv No I'm curious, many Christians mean different things when they say the same things, I'm just trying to understand what you're saying. I'm pretty sure I know what youre talking about but I want to hear it from you before we proceed.

  • @smurfboywv

    "Human kind"

Wouldn't a lord and king make themselves known by something other than ancient texts and warm fuzzy feelings? Especially since so many different versions of God's orders are being used around the world, ALL claiming authority?

  • My cats do believe in a god...the one who opens the cans :P

  • The caller seems a tad... Stupid.

  • Some people's logic fails so completely.

  • If you don't believe in god, blah blah blah...

My conception of life is not dependent upon the concept of god or any other metaphysical speculation.

  • That nigger said atheists should commit suicide...LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I'm vanilla too!!

    LOL

  • "If there's nothing after you die then why waste another breath? Why not just slit your wrists right now?"

Well if you think you're going to go to heaven and live forever then why don't you slit your wrists and go there right now? Dumbass. I don't understand why they can't get past the idea that there is no reason to live without a belief in god. It's mental.

  • @SkeksisRule Whats mental is people voicing an opinion they know nothing about.

  • I'm vanilla

  • What I've never understood is how believers insist that this life must have meaning, specifically in their case the meaning is to seek salvation. But never stop to think that their precious Eternal Life is never given any meaning at all.

So This Life is to seek a ticket to a meaningless Eternal Life??

    How does that make sense?

But it is typical of religious people that they never ask themselves the next logical question.

  • Such blasphemous rumours!

  • lol "well no a stripper isn't initially naked", nice!

  • How can you live forever when your dead?

    Bwahahaha stupid god botherers.

  • i like this caller, he seems reasonable so hopefully he will drop beliefs in time and concentrate on whats real

  • @GBJ83 agreed... if he was sincere... i mean its a good topic for people to listen about... many people really do feel that way and in many ways i understand how scary it is to not have an afterlife,.

  • "Why don't kill yourself now so you can go on to the real better life ahead?"

Ugh...because suicide is a mortal sin. Atheist FAIL.

  • @compsciguy So is working on sabbath. CHRISTIAN FAIL

  • @compsciguy Believe in Jesus and you will be saved. CHRISTIAN FAIL. Go kill yourself. Christian

  • Dogma and faith is the limit where we can express our consciousness. Over that limit, there's only blind acceptance of what it's said by others, no matter if that dogma is religous or political (both very similiar) Personally i can't see the point in discussing about this with whoever has this limit, I think it's the same thing when someone speaks about bullshit on how to combine science and faith together. But hey, i appreciate you guys' efforts in doing that!

  • Jason is a mental midget.

  • did this guy just say "evolve"?

    holy shit

  • good luck in hell

  • @AmirArProductions Thanks, good luck in mordor!

  • watch?v=YI9owlpOQl0

  • @dragonforce525

    And dragons XD

I like Matt when he says "...immoral atheist thinking about sex all the time" so funny high voice lol

  • The caller also implies that the next life will be better, I mean what's going on in heaven? Warm milk, Scrabble and Christian Rock? Fuck that, send me to hell with Vodka, Strip Poker and Iron Maiden please.

  • @dragonforce525

    Isn't that amoral?

  • @dragonforce525 MAIDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! \m/

  • The caller is a complete and utter moron!

  • Tracie's cats better start worshipping Ceiling Cat, or Basement Cat will steal their souls (and noms).

  • this caller is completely and totally irrational.

its like hes never taken a science class.

  • The reason the dude on the phone can't slit his wrist and just go on to live the second life.Is because that would be a sin that would not allow him to get there

  • @Kingpee03

Exactly. Suicide is not a surefire ticket to everlasting peace and joy.

  • "maybe I haven't accomplished what I need to accomplish" the caller says. What if you already have? How would you know? Maybe you've already fulfilled your destiny and you could kill yourself now because your purpose in life has been fulfilled. You are just a tool, another cog in the machine of God's design, all the world's a stage, your part's been played: you can get off the stage now.

Why assume the fulfillment of your life's at the end of it? You could kill off the elderly: they're done

  • Could someone please explain the term 'vanella' (sp)? I assume it's sex related... which is fine with me.

    Thanks

  • Hello liberalmatt,

As with computers the colloquialism "vanilla" means that it is done and/or used only for conventional and socially accepted practices, as opposed to the raping of children by priests.

    Katalyzt

  • @Katalyzt Thanks for that - it's not really a common term here in the UK.

  • @liberalmatt

    no idea bro, google it..

  • @liberalmatt - I've always thought of the adjective "vanilla" as a plain version of something that offers a lot more choices.

  • wow religious people are so stupid

  • @NOVELTY098 No im not stupid at all.

  • Matt is always talking about the bible but it is clear that he hasn't read it either or else he would know that suicide is an abomination, if you do kill yourself in this life you won't be going to heaven, unless God may see something that I can't see. All of you people who think that after you die there's nothing left of you will be really upset when you get to hell. God Bless!!

  • @chica0616

All love it when people argue about mythology.

  • @chica0616 And that's the only difference between christianity and any other death cult.

  • @chica0616

Mat studied to become a Baptist minister.

On pretty much every single caller, that tried to state any passage from the bible, he knows exactly the passage and from memory, can quote the exact reference word for word.

He knows more about the bible than you will EVER know.

Thats also one of the reasons why he knows its full of shit and thats why he turned from christianity, to atheism. Much like a great many other Atheists. Myself included. The bible can only be accepted by fools.

  • your running after what you want to belive is true.

    just a prick.

  • so will be brought to nothing.sort of prove scripture.

muppet face on a 25 roll.

not gonna bother,m8 your a prick.

  • so will be brought to nothing.sort of prove scripture.

  • This is the SICK delusion religion has on people....

  • What a cock!!!

  • What is the song at the beginning and end of this video?

  • @HeavenlyRa

Hi there. The song is "Blasphemous Rumours" by Depeche Mode.

  • @threeholerhauler Thanks a ton! No wonder I like the song! It's Depeche Mode!

  • @HeavenlyRa

Oh yes! Can't beat DM. I remember as a kid feeling really guilty for liking this song. Thank goodness I no longer have to feel guilty about who I am or what I like!

  • Hah, I love how Matt boomeranged it right back at him

  • @Preator6 Apparently have no idea. The more I push to discover the origin of life the more my consciences rises that there is no God. The thing at church makes me wonder how many people are weak to accept the bible as nothing more but a fairy tale. I find it kind of fascinating that people really worship no one and kind of silly that I worship no one also. Then I may be in phase as Agnostic due to my curiosity if there could be a God. (I don't know)

  • @nctrls2 if there could be a god is about knowledge, so you're agnostic. But do you believe in god? Yes or no.. that makes you either theist or atheist, or if you believe in a god but doesn't think he intervenes that makes you deist.

  • @nctrls2 So by definition, you're an agnostic deist which sounds a lot to be on the road to agnostic atheism. Interesting.

  • yeah the christian priests are the most horny people on earth. FACT

  • Nihilism? Its awesome?

  • IF you say Atheism is the absence of belief system, Why do you believe in Atheism?

  • @nctrls2 Its a descriptor. A (originated from greek) means opposite of or opposed to. Theist means to worship a god of sorts. We do not believe that we are atheists, I guess you could say, as it automatically applies that we are not theists. So anyone that is not a theist, I guess you could say, is by definition an atheist.

  • @nctrls2 Your question is midguided. No athiest would ever say "I believe in atheism". Atheism is the absence of a belief in god, rather than a belief system itself

  • @urcritic Why minority of atheists claim that the term "Atheist means a lack of belief" - not absence of belief in God- . instead should atheist be called unbelievers "the absence of beliefs". (Atheism is confusing)

  • @nctrls2 Atheism is confusing, just like Theism :)

I think to get to Atheism takes many long hours of truely honest self-reflection, education and and understanding that any dogma (of any kind, religious or political et al) is inherently a negative step away from freedom, especially freethought. Freethinking requires an honest fortitude and bravery not often seen by most people (I'm not sure I'm all the way there yet). And yet, shouldn't that be something that all people should strive for?

  • @urcritic Absolutely right. Atheism is not a system at all since it has only ONE tenent; no god-belief. Theism IS a system since it deals with ritual, prophecy, moral guidance...

Even if you were to strip belief down to its basic level it still is a system since it hold TWO tenants: a belief IN and a belief THAT something exists.

Atheism holds only a lack of belief, a single point or tenant.

Knowledge and Belief are two wholly different psychological states.

  • @nctrls2 A belief system generally holds an unmovable position by the believer.

Here's the fundamental difference between Theism and Atheism. If I was conclusively shown tomorrow that there was a better Biological Theory than Evolution or a better Cosmological Theory than The Big Bang, a Theory that BETTER explained ALL of the evidence, I would abandon it without hesitation.

If I was to offer you a superior religion tomorrow that answered even more of your questions, what would you do?

  • @vryc I look for more evidence based on the religion that you're offering. I do believe in science and evolution but also believe there is a supreme being, specifically a creator who made the universe but does not intervene in the universe. (=/ I don't know)

  • i want to win the lottry any one got lucky numbers? Oh strippers rulezzz

  • I think naked strippers are more fun than living for ever... unless I could get stoned off my balls every day.

  • religion surgically removes empathy. it allows a person to let God do the worrying.

  • HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIT IT'S LIKE THE CRUSADES ALL OVER AGAIN IN THE COMMENTS!

    P.S.

    I'm Roman Catholic

  • @AntiTbagsms ps your dumb

  • just be fair and honest and you don't need all the religious bullshit in between.

    I have spoken.

    peace, lardo.

  • By the way aliens do exist, we abduct animals and probe them continuously every day, just imagine how that animal feels when a helicoptor swoops down and drugs them, and plays with their genitals lmao!

  • So reality is beauty, which is only what it is in the eye of the beholder. God exist yet is non-existent good is only good to you and I see bad as good equaly

  • The brain lives in darkness, our 5 senses are only electrical signals percieved, how can we be sure they are true.true knowlege can never be attained. If knowledge is power, then true science can never be achieved. Evidence of absence is not absence of evidence.

  • her cats probably believe in a god, tracy, she can magicly open doors and make food apear out of no were, they probably think of her in the same way primitive people thought the environment around them was god, storms, valcanios anything they coud not understand or control was magic. Please lets grew out of this if we cant explain something, it must be magic, it must be god, The human race has more knowlage then that, lets use it.

  • Live ur life and be happy - Thats what atheists believe in

  • @Pandak1d

To "just live your life and be happy" is WAY too difficult a concept for theists to grasp.

  • @Pandak1d THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Sounds like he had his mom prompting him in the background. Anyone else hear that?

  • I went to the North Pole to look for evidence of Santa clause. Guess what? Nothing. Not even his helpers or rein deers. I can't believe in Santa Clause any more even though my 5 year old daughters book says there's a Santa Clause.

  • @stevjen1 Santa Clause believes in you. pff hahaha sorry, could not say that with a straight face.

  • THis Guy is an idiot....why would Atheist kill themselves just because we do not believe in God??? That is a pointless question..

  • Has god ever answered the prayer of an amputee? Why does god hate them?

  • @pchtermino1 Because God hates freaks. Why do you think he told Noah to not let the unicorns and dragons on the ark? Because they're freaks and God hates all freaks, this includes amputees. Praise the Lord!

  • @RedDollShoes Your terriable....can we be freinds??

  • When a atheist love one dies do you bury them in a church grounds or do you just stick them in the garbage ?

  • @beginization Neither, it's called a cemetary, or maybe cremation, or cryogenics, if we left them in the garbage then the body attracts parasites and disease ridden pests.

  • @beginization As atheist doesnt share a common dogma regarding anything but the lack of a god, that will depend on the atheist wish.

Personally, if its possible, i rather have my organs donated and the rest of my body burnt and the ashes spread.

  • @beginization It's illegal to stick dead people in the garbage for public health reasons.

  • Are Atheist trying to start there own church with these websites and all the preaching of your doctrine of how much better life is living as a atheist is just like a minister talking about his beliefs and enjoyment of living with god.?

And is Dawkins your Pope ? as most atheist seem to have been converted by Dawkins to your new faith.

  • @beginization Um, no, Atheists are all Atheists for different reasons, some agree with Dawkins, I personally, am an Atheist because the amount of proof there is for god's existence is less than that of a unicorn, and I certainly don't believe in unicorns, so I'm not going to believe in god either, don't take this as an attack by the way, it isn't meant to be one.

  • @angrynutrients I believe in unicorns you bitch! /wrists

  • is all they have now "if you dont beleive in god your life sucks"? fucking idiots

  • The caller has a valid enough inquiry regarding why we'd bother trying to live if in the end it's all over. What it really comes down to is this... we all have different reasoning for doing anything we do, but the fact that an atheist sees no long term reward for living and doing good makes the good hearted atheist all the more self-less above those who do good because they fear a god.

  • Hey nobody complain..this is better than them reading some dam Quran...there healthy, they don't have rags on there head and I'am sure they won't blast you if you don't beleive in something this is a show ...but off air I'm sure they will not tell you to switch over lol there nutral nothing wrong with that.

  • What's the point of staying alive if you're gonna go to heaven when you die? I can understand not commiting suicide, but why wear bike helmets or seat belts, Christians?

  • @RockBanned lol good point they cant commit suicide because they go to hell but they can walk up to a police station (repent before they do it) shoot the police and get shot to death. and by the way eternity would SUCK

  • Well Done Matt

  • "whats the point in breathing another breath"?

to further the species, and to make the world a better place for the next generation.

  • atheist believe in science and reason, we look for the great answers in life, without just being handed them.

evolution and the big bang theory may be wrong, however we searched for these answers, without blindly following what is written in some book.

  • Organised reglion should be seperate.God never has been "short of cash".But that doesn't mean god doesn't exist.Religions are businesses....the only thing that matters is faith.

  • I don't believe there's a god ,I don't believe not a god .I don't think it's likely .I don't think it's necessary

  • simple math! haha :)

  • Haha Matt's questions for Jason were perfect. I don't consider myself an atheist, nor a christian, but I like this dude. He makes awesome points, but in all fairness, Jason was an obvious idiot.

  • i guess christians don't realize that all creatures have a will to survive

  • You know your conversation is in trouble right of the bat when you correct someone and then they say the exact same thing you just corrected them on only seconds before. Willful ignorance is a brick wall.

  • Complete argument breakdown occurs 2:41 - 2:50

  • Comment removed

  • LMAO! Freaky priest sex! No where will find more sinners than in a church...

Well spoken, its interesting to hear other people explain their views.

  • Matt not one of them have an anwser for that questions but its funny to watch them try and fail.

  • I don;t see how "no god" means "no point to life". Besides, isn't christianity in a nutshell "This life is nothing, don;t do anything I don't want you to do and you will have a much better life"

  • "Why don't you just slit your wrists?" - Because we enjoy life!!

  • i love science~~

  • its annoying as fuck when people don't realize that they need to turn their TV off when they call...

  • One of the most common criticisms of atheism has been to the contrary—that denying the existence of a god leads to moral relativism, leaving one with no moral or ethical foundation,[62] or renders life meaningless and miserable. (source: Wikipedia)

I think the caller tried to say something like this.

  • What *I* don't understand is why humans like to believe in VENGEFUL gods that like to torture people forever.

Why not just believe in happy fun gods who love everybody?

You know, fluffy gods as opposed to mean gods.

If you're going to believe in a deity, fluffy deities are more appealing then those with wrath of fire.

  • Easy: these gods are laws, anthropomorphised. Laws aren't meant to be fluffy, they're meant to be scary and spiky so that no one breaks them.

Other gods can be fluffy and cute, meant for fun, comfort, or explanation of some mysteries. These things are desirable, so they're going to be cute and cuddly.

It's when you try to mix the two concepts that you get in trouble.

  • People like to dwelve in guilt. That is why.

  • his summary of the guy's question was inaccurate

the truth is that atheists have no objective purpose for living. there are reasons they live - the natural urge to survive, the selfish need to live happily. but those aren't purposes. using reason those things end up being no more than natural urges, and if you keep asking why, you're left with no reason.

i'm an atheist. i'm not sure that what i just said is right, but it's something i've been leaning toward lately - somewhat depressing.
