I was there, remember the fireworks at the end, they damagaed the scoreboard, broke some windows in the homes around the stadium, the place was packed with more people than they should've had in there but what a performance!
Was 1974 the first time they played this song? I swear I used to have an mp3 that said it was 1972 and it sounded much different from this. But it was the same song.
This is so amazing!!! Thanks for the post! I just bought the "Wish you were here" Immersion box set, and this is on it, slightly different, and a bit longer, but awesome!. Make's shelling out $130.00 pretty much worth it..!
@wrathofdiablo "Dogs" is my favorite Floyd song, but I do like this prototype - always interesting to hear a classic being shaped into what would become the final product - I like the Animals version better because of the blend of acoustic and electric guitars, and of course Richard Wright's magic on the keyboards with the barking dog and the whistle calling the dog - but both are great
@wrathofdiablo it's an early version of dogs. it's from 1975, the version that end up on animals is slighlty different! you can find an early version of sheep as well, it's called Raving and drooling!
and yes, it's a live recording (on of the best bootleg of this floydian period).
@jimy84 yea i know that. but if u still listen to the lyrics of this version and the one u find online for the same song, u'd notice the difference(mostly in the first stanza).......and DOGS is a lot different from this one......i like this one better coz the lyrics are much more audacious !
@wrathofdiablo The lyrics on the internet is different because its the lyrics to the version of 'you got to be crazy' from the tours pink floyd did in 1974.
The '74 version is the version you can find on the new WYWH (deluxe experience edition)[remastered] with Raving and Drooling(aka Sheep)
they rerealeasd WYWH and DSoTM on Sept 23 2011
they are rerealeasing a remastered version of the Wall on feburary 28 2012
Its a part of the Why Pink Floyd? remastering they are currently doing
man, where you get all these cool live recordings so clear, not like my recording from my teenage years 35 years ago. Very cool nice, fantastic, stupendous, and simply the best. David DeSain, Rochester, NY
