  • great video amazingly accurate good job :)

  • Yeah I have already noticed that some people are taking this portrayal literally -which it obviously is not - we all view the world differently - and learn in different ways - I have stated clearly it is just a representation of how overwhelming things may be - but there are plenty of people who have taken the idea and recreated it - so I hope it helps to raise awareness and people consider what I have written on my idea - which I created over 4 years ago -

  • Undiagnosed aspergers as yet but this is very inaccurate at how I see my world. There is no blurring at all, it's more like everything is on the same frequency and just as bright as everything else. It's like a camera constantly scanning and zooming in on details and everything is 'waving' at you saying 'look at me,look at me!!'

  • i feel disoriented and confused...

  • no, not 100% accurate, true they focus on specific things that other people overlook or dont even know about. The blurred vision is not true.. the perception is more like center an object, or thing, view or something else (a house) and the rest is a little blurred or less focused.. thats all, the various blurred pictures make no sense... is she visually impaired? no

  • it's metaphorical...not meant to be visually accurate...but many thanks for your comment :)

  • ok, im autistic, and i have one thing to say: i love that your trying to understand and spread awareness. but plenty of people will look at this video and take the whole "blurry/dizzy/out of focus" thing literally, and think their kids are on a constant mental acid trip. i've seen enough parents treat autistic kids like they are nuts, and this doesnt help change that. I understand what your trying to say, what you show, but MANY people wont. they wont look deeper. please think on that.

  • @alisamakora Yeah I have already noticed that some people are taking this portrayal literally -which it obviously is not - we all view the world differently - and learn in different ways - I have stated clearly it is just a representation of how overwhelming things may be - but there are plenty of people who have taken the idea and recreated it - so I hope it helps to raise awareness and people consider what I have written on my idea - which I created over 4 years ago -

  • I don't wanna be mean but, it looks like she's high or something. I mean I don't think that people or kids with autism see things all blury like that. Nice vid. though. :)

  • @heather1996actress read the description

  • i have autism. but seriously come on is this really how severely autistic people see the world. i mean it seems kinda weird. youd think they would get dizzy with all the blurryness.(i think thats how you spell it)

  • @confusion66666666666 - its not literal - read my description

  • Maybe some of them can see things more clearly than we ever could.

  • but nothing is blurry to me---the details just stand out more---like they are neon colour and everything else is a regular shade.

  • But the world for me isn't blurry----the picture is clear---but the detail pops out more----like it is neon.

  • I have Asperger's Syndrome----you can memorize certain spatial qualities---I drive a car and I know how far to stay back from other vehicles---I also drive the same route---problems occur with unfamiliar roads---also focusing on certain details---yes----seeing one particular thing----it does stand out---a sound, a sight, a smell.

  • creepy!!

  • this is a wonderful video. my daughter has autism, and i know this is how she sees the world around her. thank you for posting.

  • Genial video! la primera cosa que note acerca de mis huijos es que siempre "buscaban luces en las esquinas"

  • I'd say for me, the things i'm not focusing on would be blanked out, not blured, unless something moves quickly in my periphial vision, then i HAVE to look at that.

  • thank you for this video..

  • Yes, I found this video to be creepy. I have Asperger's so I can relate to it, but it still is kind of scary. As for the praying for her to be healed thing, someone once said that about me. It's just ignorance.

  • That song gave me a damn headache.....

  • do you wanna know what the creppy thing about this video is?

its EXACTLY the way i see the world...

  • Many years ago while young I experimented with pot.... However, after this one particular time I never felt the same the next day.... After years and years of wondering why I looked at the world differently after smoking.... I think this video finally answered my questions.

  • wow this is just how i see.

  • Sometimes I wish I had such conditions to understand their perception of things.

But, like many with Autism, I find myself staring into space; amazed at the natural wonders of this little world.

  • Lead panit was ever present until 1976. Abestos was in every known insulation in the world. gas toxins were exposed to familys coal burning for heat was mass co2 exposure. All of which are toxic. Why is autisum only a real issue untill the late 80s? who knows but our kids have always been exposed to toxic chemicals. But not untill the late 80s were the toxins injected under the skin evading all our immune systems safeguards.

  • made me cry....i have an Autistic son...and it kills me not knowing what is going through his little mind (he is 3)...he isnt able to tell me his feelings(he only says a few words)...i love him so much.....

  • i find this 2 be very patronising if im honest

  • Just beautiful.

  • NOTE To Viewers: See all the odd features that an autistic eye gazes at, while missing the people right in front of them. Now you know why autistic people don't recognize you. It is the biggest challenge in existence to look another person in the face and eyes; more so the focus is on every shape and every color and every texteure that is around. So easy to see the environment around, so hard to notice the people in it. Ponder these thoughts...

  • Superb!! 100% accurate of what the eyes of autism see!! Every normal person should observe this video very closely and health professionals should obtain permission to share it with outsider family members of those who live with an autistic person!!

  • that is very accurate i know for a fact i have Autism and i live like this every single day

  • This is incredibly accurate. I used to perceive the world in almost exactly that way and I still do to a lesser extent. To me the 'blur' is just a way to explain the attention to details the 'zoning out' of everything else; the blur isn't literal. Great job! Obviously it can't account for all autistic people because of the variability of the spectrum. While NTs may not come close to understanding autism, we cannot come close to understanding what it is like to be NT.

  • The only thing that diminished this for me is Irlen Filters. Now I can drive and see a wider view if not a 'whole picture' or NTs.

  • this makes so much sense, it is me

  • Thanks for this video. I made one about a family friend too. If you guys have a second, please check out autismrising-com

  • She has tunnel vision?

  • the point of it i think is autistics alot of the time focus more on details i know i used to more so as a child so yes i can relate to this video.

  • Yeah, you're right. I always focus on details, too.

  • its like a dream

  • Interesting you show the fixation on very very minute tiny objects, not sure about the blurry vision but that fixation and zooming in on very tiny details.

  • Well I myself have autism, and I have never saw the world in that way (ironically my vision is better than 20/20). I think you can do all the research you want, but you'll never be able to come close to understanding what it is like to have autism.

If anyone did, there would likely be less people saying how it needs to be "cured". That's like saying I also should be "cured" of my blue eyes, when in reality there is nothing wrong with such.

  • Depends. It's not as if autism is as simple as an on/off thing. I agree that people who possess one of the milder forms of autism, like Asperger's, definitely don't need to be 'cured' at all.

But then there are other autistic people who utterly lack basic social skills and learning capabilities. Some so severe that they need near-constant care and supervision. That seems to be the type of person people think of when they hear 'autism,' and the type they think needs to be 'cured.'

  • I'm so glad that you said that, I may not have autism, but my 3 year old daughter Reagan does and I know I'll never see the world like she does. And I have never thought that she needed to be cured, she just is the way she is, and she is a beautiful human being inside and out. Personally, I can't wait to see how she developes and she has my full support until I take my last breath. Did anyone else find this video to be creepy?

  • Yes, people tell me they are praying for God to heal my daughter.

I appreciate their concern, but it always seems a strange thing for them to say or ask for.

She is happy and we are happy.

What's left to heal? God has done His job.

  • beautifully said!! My son is the same way, he is mild autistic but he is happy and confident. He doesn't give up!! I love him with all my heart and hopefully he will have a wonderful life

  • Maybe God placed autistics on Earth for a purpose. Autistics seem to give an emotional effect on the people around them like angels on Earth.

  • I totaly agree with you there. My litle guy can be tiresome at times, but there is not one thing about him I want "fixed"

  • Are you asking if your daughter lives in a "creepy" world? Must be unpleasant to believe that of someone you love so well.

  • @eScential - Yes I do love her - thats why im trying to understand how she processes everything - nice if the world is perfect for you

  • fantastic post .today i have been told my own son has mild autism, this makes me understand who he is and how he sees the world .. thank you

  • This is a true piece of art and you should be very proud of yourself. Amazing and I would love to have older autistics chime in and tell us as parents whether we are on the right track.

  • I got diagnose Autism, and i am living in protected environment where we work,i paint,i am a painter and an artistic painter, relax, sleep, eat, drink, have little parties sonetimes with music. And we have guidance from professionals. It's on a big farm, and we are very happy here. Corrie Kersten started it in 1981, and we all still here living happily.

  • My Autistic Daughter loved this video so much I had to keep repeating it for her! Thank you this let's me glimpse a little bit at how beautiful she sees the world!

  • People with autism shouldn't be treated with drugs. There is nothing wrong with them.

They are just different, it's their surroundings that are WRONG. So their surroundings should be treated, not them.

Maybe "normal" people like us should learn to understand them instead of judging them and make diagnoses out of our fantasies.

The typical "Normal" is the worst diagnose you can get. It may you believe that everything is ok while it's not.

People with autism are often extremely intellegent.

  • I can empathise with the surroundings issue. I have sever Tourettes and I get so hot and I can't stand to be touched on one side and not the other. I have 2 poems about my Tourettes on youtube one deals with tics named Poetry of Touretted and the other deals with tics and overstimulted feeling of touch and it is named Tourettes Thunder. I hope we can raise awareness about all of these neurlogical and neurobiological Syndroms and Disorders.

  • There could be a genetic link in the rising rates of autism... For instance, mutations in the MECP2, PTEN, SHANK3, and NLGN4X genes are found in many cases of autism. (There are heritable) And these abnormalities in these genes have a 100% concordance rate in inidentical tiwns (who share the same genetic make up). Is it possible that these genetic abnormalities increase susceptibility to the effects of vaccines? This could explain early onset autism but not autism that is present from birth.

  • I have a son with autism and this video just for a few minutes let me see life the way he sees it everyday. Thank you and God Bless

  • my brother is autistic he is turning 15 in may and he was diagnosed at 3

  • I don't have any doubt that there is a GENETIC SUSCEPTIBILITY. But, there is nowhere in my child's DNA code that says he should carry a load of Mercury. And we pulled out buckets of IT through chelation! And he got better.

There is NO such thing in science as a GENETIC EPIDEMIC, is there?

Thank you so much for this video, how intuitive and smart! Very helpful!!

  • actually studies are revealing that vaccines are not actually responsible for any autism but parents and doctors were believing so because autism is most commonly diagnosed at the age where kids are getting their large round of baby/toddler vaccines so the first signs of autism were showing up at the same time as the kids are getting their shots. Naturally people began to assume that vaccines were therefore causing the autism but in reality its just a bad coincidence.

  • It is highly unlikely, given the rapid increase in numbers of children affected by autism (1 in 150 is the figure, and growing) that the problem is merely genetic. In fact, it's a medical impossibility for the human gene pool, by itself, to have been corrupted so thoroughly, to have created this vast epidemic. Environmental toxins, genetic factors and yes, probably some elements of certain vaccines are all more than likely responsible.

  • Yes! Thank you!! We as a family are trying put puzzle pieces together on this one..my brother is severely autistic. God bless!

  • I have an autistic son who was diagnosed on the autistic spectrum just before his 3rd birthday, i don't think there's as much of an 'epidemic' as the hype would have people believe its just in recent years the diagnostic procedures have improved due to more understanding of the condition. There are so many people out there who are on the autistic spectrum who have never been diagnosed and were written off throughout their childhood years as 'difficult children'

  • vaccines may be given around the time that autism is diagnosed in children. that by itself it not enough proof that vaccines cause autism.

  • not neccesserly, my mom works with autistic children and has found that a lot of the recent diagnosed in fact don't have autism and have different conditions. But since autism allows the child more help from the goverment than other similar conditions a lot of kids are diagonosed as autism when they don't have it. Its also more known than other conditions, so a lot of the increase involves children being misdignosed.

  • Hi first of I want to say, fantastic video. I am not diagnosed with autism but I have strong autistic symptoms, I am 18 right now. Well anyways Last year I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I have read somewhere online that there might be a connection with diabetes and autism?? The connection is Not only with diabetes but with many other disease and problems that are more susptable with autistic people. just a thought.

  • i work with children who have autism and i personally dont believe that vaccines have anything to do with it and do not cause it. i see so many children who have autism that have parents that are on the spectrum therefore making it genetic. there are also alot of multiple births where there is one child out of 2 or 3 that have a form of autism.

  • I have mild autism and I have been trying to explain to my spouse for 16 yrs. about why I am a klutz with 20/20 vision, and your video has done it for me in 2 1/2 minutes. THANKS - VERY ACCURATE!!

  • As an elementary ed major, I enjoy seeing videos that enhance my understanding of children with disabilities. I am doing a presentation on children with Autism and thinking of using this video. So, thank you in advance :)

  • Many people with autism do have vision problems. I am currently undergoing vision therapy for mine. It's amazing to finally see the world in 3d. Also, I get the impression that you didn't consult any autistic people before making this vid. Next time please consult with us if you are making a video about us.

  • Look, she just made the point of view of her daugther not everyones. Autism is not a cult that you should consult before post, before you say anything I have autism too.

  • omg that's so accurate

it can also be extrapolated into other fields than visial perception. hearing, even thinking.

for instance, having interpreted something far too literally for the millionth time you recognise this in a way, but once the "omg did he just say" line of thinking kicks in your mind gets stuck at that and other thoughts blur. that's why we/they obsess about things as details

a sort of incapability to abort a line of thinking really...which works similarly with perception

  • A newborn with hereditary (or not) feeble "emotions processing ability" needs to be exposed to emotionally charged inputs slowly and carefully in order to overcome the weakness. However, sudden immersion into an emotionally supercharged world can cause the kids developing brain to collapse.

  • well my brother has autism and one day I was watching the news with my mom and it clearly says that autism is not caused by any vaccinations

  • I beg to differ. We are lucky that our ASD son is a happy child! He's always smiling in every picture we've taken of him. One teacher said with glossy eyes, "No matter how many times he's seen me in a day, he's so happy to see me each time, as if he hadn't seen me in a long time". We are blessed he isn't screaming everytime he's touched. I've come across a google vid: Mercury, Autism and the Global Vaccine Agenda. God Bless our Children - sniff...

  • well if the news says vaccines are safe, then there you go, case closed ,LOLOLOL

  • Okay, any person that thinks their child got autism through a vaccine needs to read a little bit more stuff on autism and it's genetics, and not how a shot gave it to them.

  • my daughter got autism after being vaccined for ROR

  • Sensory overstimulation would be especially bad with autism, as people with autism have difficulty communicating.

I've noticed this with my brother, when a song would be playing, he would get agitated for no apparent reason. Thanks for the video.

  • so are you suggesting that autism is due to visual problems.

  • after research it has come to my attention that autism can cause sensory overstimulation that can lead to distortions of the senses - please feel free to look at the links i have posted at the side- thanx for your comment and interest. angie

  • Well i have aspergers and it really is a good example of what im seeing in the world

i can look at a fire for about 4 min and change the color and enhance the noise

once when i got in trouble at school in the hall way i got scared, so my body shut off my hearing i couldn't hear for about 4 min

  • thank you for posting this. I noticed that my non verbal son uses a lot of peripheral vision, lamp posts, he loves bending the top of sticks or objects ie drinking straws and lines them up precisely with his the corner of his eye. My HFA daughter doesnt do this.

  • My little brother has Autism...

  • @>-->--

  • well, it was sort of scary actually..im sure not all autistics view this way though. my little brother sorta of grew into autism at age 2 and has almost surpassed all the obstacles. he isnt as bad as he used to be, but he still does have lots of autistic tendencies. anyway, i think he did view this way as a baby, but not now.i seriously wish for your daughter to be healthy, God bless!

  • To: KeepitrealTV

I'm happy that YOUR kids are brilliant.

    They've never been sick.

And they've never stepped foot into a doctors office.

Maybe you could learn a little tact and manners from your brilliant kids.

1 and 166 kids are diagnosed with Autism or Aspergers.

For the rest of us, who's kids have to see doctor after doctor, neurologist after neurologist and therapist after therapist, its not so brilliant, bright and wonderful at times.

  • i think that this was a very well made video clip. very annoying to watch, but it really does focus onto how some autistic people act. My little brother is autistic and he focuses in on the tiniest thing and stays homed in on it forever. good job.

  • omg that was scary..

  • Do NOT vaccinate your kids people! My kids are BRILLIANT and have never had a single shot and they do NOT go to doctors or take medicine. They are also NEVER sick and obviously have no abnormal behaviors at all!

  • You do realize that autism isn't caused by vaccines, right? That it's a neurological and highly genetic condition, right? Oh, and you realize that if we didn't have vaccines that we'd have significantly higher rates of chronic disorders in children like polio, pneumonia and tuberculosis, right? Just checking...

  • we all know that they used mercury to preserve the vaccines, and we all know what mercury does to the brain right? If it is genetic then why are there more autistic children now than before? Is it because we have more vaccines now than before? just checking...

  • vaccines don't cause autism. i know several individuals on the autism spectrum that weren't vaccinated. if autism isn't genetic, then tell me why autistic parents have autistic children? (i'm on the autism spectrum, my mom's on the spectrum, her mom's on the spectrum.. and guess what, her mom was probably on the spectrum, too.) i don't think it's as much that there are more autistics in the world.. it's just that more of them are being diagnosed... before, they were just called "eccentric."

  • Autism is a spectrum disorder and I believe it is caused by a spectrum of causes. Both of my best friends from High School and I have autistic children. One was clearly affected at birth, mine initiated right after 18 month vacinations and one slightly later and suffers severe anxiety. We believe my child's was caused by vaccinations (he is high functioning.) My friends who showed at birth was probably genetic (severe) and my friend with the older boy was probably environmental.

  • i hope they never get anything seroius that they could die from becuse you never vacnted them .fyi the vacion dont cause autism

  • vaccines have, had, mercury in them, and a whole host of other ingredients that are criminal to use in childrens medicine, mercury causes neuron death, thats it, thats a fact

  • My last comment didn't post. Anyway, I wanted to say I am a little offended by this video. It does not correctly depict what we are staring at so entranced by it. The picture of the rain hitting a puddle came close to it though. If you could talk to someone with autism for a few moments, really talk to them, about what they are looking at, then you might know it is not seen "distortedly" at all.

  • Excellent job! I have 2 Autistic children, both very different. this is a good way for us 'neurotypicals' to guess at how they see the world. It's kind of a cross between how I imagine my eldest and youngest see the world. Great job! Thank you.

  • Could I ask you if your kids both got vaccinated? Thanks for your reply.

  • vaccinated for what?

  • I used to describe it as more of a filter - for things my attention was not on, a thick filter, and for things my attention was on, a thin or almost nonexistent filter. Sometimes the filter muffled sound, sometimes overstimulation from motion. It was often quite enjoyable when the "filter" seemed thickest, as I was less prone to getting overstimulated and throwing a tantrum, or getting lost.

  • Hello. I am autistic, and I think this captures pretty well the differences of perception. Of course, I have never been anything but myself, so I don't really know what it's like to perceive things differently from the way I do, but from what I've read, non-autistics experience things quite differently (I have never understood how people can stand that fire alarm without going into shutdown).

  • I've always imagined autism has a great deal to do with sensory overload. And well-meaning people failing to understand, pushing the child for yet more interaction. I imagine that over time, this might lead to PTSD, with as a consequence, the child not knowing where to focus her attention anymore, because it's either overwhelming to her senses, or chastised. So she's always on the lookout for safe places to focus her attention on. Just wondering.

  • the music is so excruciating that I can't watch the video

  • Yeah, you got that spot on, well done. It gets more defined when you get older but sometimes I can still go back into that intense dream experience. The music is not nice, though (the loud tinkling sounds can either stimulate or irritate the autistic/asperger's brain...).

  • i don't see anything like this, maybe someone who's very autistic might. although im doubtful. unless you meant this metaphorically because we see and hear everything you see we just don't concentrate on the same things.

  • Yes , Unfortunately some people are taking this too literally. This is a Representation using simple film Techniques to portray how some Autistic People focus on, and get overwhelmed by, objects and environments. Most People like myself have no understanding of these sensory overloads. This was made to raise awareness of the difficulties some, not all, Autistic people/children face in everyday situations.

  • This is how I Imagine MY Daughter sees the world after many years of research and observation. I have put links in the description for a look at some of the research articles I have drawn upon for this portrayal. Hopefully people will have more patieance and understanding if they realise some children have so many sensory difficulties, and for neo-typicals and people with normal perceptions this video was a good way to explain and describe those dificulties.

  • Check out my films - Jack (Part1) and Jack(Part2). They are about my brother who has Asperger's syndrome.

  • I never saw/heard in this blurred fashion (except for myopia corrected by ordinary glasses). Other than that, perception has always been very clear and sound was and is precise -- that's how I echolaliate it (if that's a word!). Noticing details and patterns is part of my experience, but it's not like the details are clear and everything else is fuzzed. When your daughter gets communication technology, you can ask her what she sees and hears and update your video to compare.

  • Hiya, thanx for your comment, Some Autistic people/children have terrible trouble with being overwhelmed or underwhelmed by their environments, noise, light, people, touch etc. Also the fuzzyness is to portray to people how some autistics focus on small objects or things that hold an interest to them that seem insignificant to the mainstream.

  • Looks like their parents should have taught them what is important to pay attn. to, and what isn't. I think an eye to eye conversation might brighten their lives a little.

  • Did this help with your severely Autistic Child then??

  • My son is autistic and I always wondered how he might see things to me this was awsome!!!!!!!!!! because it looks like he would describe what he sees

  • When I get rolls of film developed most of the pictures look like this. I just take pictures of what caught my eye I guess.

  • don't know how I missed this but it's going into the posautive youtube group now, and into its sense subgroup - many thanks! great to read the comments and see how accurately you've captured these perceptual differences. I will recommend this to students interested in sensory issues in autism.

  • thanx

  • This isn't how I see/hear anything. Maybe when I was younger, but not now.

  • I have a 6 year old son with a milder form of autism. He is as smart if not smarter than most kids his age but he doesn't use speech as a form of communication. He is responsive to everything around him and very social with other kids as well as adults. To all the parents with children with autism just remember god gave us these special kids because he knew we could handle them and any problems that could arise.

  • do you use visuals? pics, photos? :) they are all special in their own unique ways, more importantly, are normal :)

  • How can I buy or copy these videos (autism) to be used without beeeing connected to the YouTube (internett)

    Yours

    Trine

  • Hiya, thanx for your interest - I am working on uploading them to my webspace and will post addy's here once uploaded

  • I need help, have i got any sort of deseise or something wrong with me if i:

doing something for about 2 times like when i turn off the copmuter i click the mouse twice maybe four times then i go somewhere then i go back to do it again, help? :( is there any curing for it?, thanks.

  • OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

I do things 3x. But not all the time & only certain things. I notice it most when I feel under pressure & stress.

Theres drugs for it... I don't recommend or encourage it.

People rely on pills for everything...Take a pill to sleep & one to wake up. one to lift us up when alone & one to bring us down when in public.

Anyway. There are brain exercises that help. A therapist is your best shot for help with OCD or the other issues I mentioned. Good luck to you!

  • i can really relate to this, i have autism and i always am noticing really little things

  • Excellent video! God Bless you for sharing this and bringing others such a vivid example of what it is like. I'm the mother of two boys with autism, and it is so hard to explain to others what their world is like! Bless you! Beth Layne

  • amazing. :)

  • i use this to help people understand how it was for me growing up thank you for this video

  • ya wen ur little with autism you see the world VERY STRANGE i cant even remember wat the things i did as a kid

  • Thank you for this video, it's really incredible!

  • Interesting you show the fixation on very very minute tiny objects, not sure about the blurry vision but that fixation and zooming in on very tiny details.

  • To me, this didn't seem so weird. But then I read the comments and I guess this isn't how most people see. For me, I have scotopic sensitivity syndrome. Before I got filters, I never knew there was a different way to see. Interesting that people with autism see things similarly.

  • Wow. and no faces. It's like he was looking for something. Typical kids would be all about the faces. It made me sick to think that these images are what an autistic child (including my dd) focuses on. No wonder they have problems with social development. This kid seems to get that he can copy what he likes. This isn't random. There is a real preference for interesting contrasts, similar to facial contrasts.

  • Incredible. My son is 2 and hs been diagnosed with autism. The way you show the leaf and everything, it's how I know he sees the world. Congrats on an incredibly enlightenting video. I don't know how you foudn the time, my son consumes 24 of my every 24....good for you. God Bless

  • Trippy...

  • i found the video really insightful and i want to thank u for posting it! being neurotypical, i found it rly interesting to see things more or less in the way an autistic person would see the world.

and fracturedpersona, if u took those pictures yourself then i think u hav an incredible photographic ability...if not then ur rly good at finding eye-catching photos lol : )

  • It was about 2 years ago my son alfie-jack was diagnosed severley autistic so i totally understand the slide show. Good luck.

  • I would die if I lived in a world like that. I thank God I don't have autism and I pray for the parents of those that do. Autistic kids are beautiful children and very intellectual.

  • I would like to address what RockMySox32 wrote. Because you cannot imagine living happily as an autistic person does not mean that autistic people all feel the same way. I personally cannot imagine being happy if I couldn't hear, but I know that many Deaf people are quite content with the way their senses process the world. Just because someone is disabled doesn't preclude them from being happy people who enjoy the way they are.

  • Very, very interesting. My oldest son is autistic and very visually driven for stimming etc. Some of his behaviour now makes a lot of sense. Thanks for posting it, very helpful.

  • I really loved your video, especially the looking on details in the video. Because that's more or less exactly the way I see the world I would say.

  • ungh... I don't have autism but it reminds me of the auras I see preceeding a migraine >.<

  • yes, this certainly captures the visual fragmentation and meaning blindness I've written about in my books, especially in Like Colour To The Blind and the sections on visual perception in The Jumbled Jigsaw.

    Warmly,

    autistic author, artist, Donna Williams

  • Thanks for your comments Donna, I have many friends who are Parents of Autistic children also. Many have read and found your books to be of great help. It is an honour that you have commented on my vid. Many thanks Angie xx

  • omg! this is fantatsic! a perfect example of what many of my young clients seem to experience when observing them at play and exploration! and it is also a great example of what goes on auditorily as well! brilliant!

  • Wow! I thought of doing something like this and here you've done it. It is art.

    Thank you.

  • Me too this gave me chills I have Autism, and it's almost exactly like that.

  • thankyou so much for your comment, it is great to hear that what I have tried to portray as my daughter's view of the world is similar to other peoples experiences.

  • Finally...someone who understands. I don't feel so crazy anymore. I made a website and interestingly enough I have drawn pictures, etc. to show things just like in your video. You can check it out if you want to... h t t p : // chat 1 autism . wetpaint . com (had to spread it out or it wouldn't post) God Bless you + I think everyone needs to see this...I would like to include the link to this video to my website if you wouldn't mind...

  • Yeah no problem if you or anyone want to use the link to this video they are more than welcome, as It was made to raise awareness and understanding. cheers for the comment.

  • hi i know u don't know me but my 5 year old son is autitic seeing that u r writing makes me be hopeful. i believe he will talk someday.

  • Hi I am a SPED teacher who specializes in kids with Autism.Does your son say anything at all?even humming means he will talk.If he says even one word I can say based on my years of teaching that he will talk but you or a shadow teacher has to help him get his language out.

  • Hi, Yeah my little girl says a few words when prompted - she is nearly 10 - hopefully it will come in time - she is in a Special School for Autism in Wales and uses P.E.C.S. - which helps to relieve mine and her frustration. She is a very Happy child - which is all that matters really - Would be nice to someday hear her talking though. Thanx for the positive comment

  • Hi as far as I am concerned PECS is used for non-verbal CWA.If your daughter can talk then I suggest do not use PECS.Yes its easier to use it but if you use PECS then she wont develop her language skills which should be developed now at her age.

  • omg watching this is like watching what it was like for me for a long time i only saw bits in peaces but not the whloe thing

  • wow, yeah that made me cry, it's as dead on as it gets. Thanks for making this.

  • this is just awesome :) My 16year old boy has real sensory difficulties with his autism, this is really enlightening !!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, that is amazing!!!!!!!!!

  • Great video. It's on point how kids will focus on one thing and zoom in on it. When I'm walking with my son outside he will notice a tiny feather on the street and it amazes me how he even noticed it. He'll stop me in my tracks and won't continue walking until he picks it up and tickle his nose with it. My lil boy is watching your video now and while he's humming to the song he's crying. The video got him emotional.

  • Another incredible video. Your very talented. One thing I find interesting is that many parents of autistics are into videography and editing. They too carry the autistics fascination with images and music to express themselves.

  • Fantastic!
