I think the only thing this "test" proves is that Lewis might just be more of a visual thinker than Jenson is. The fact that he was within 3 seconds of his real life time indicates that he might rely slightly more on visual information to drive the car whereas Button relies more heavily on the way the car feels moment by moment. Also, Button appears to "correct" the car during his "lap" whereas Hamilton is simply tracing the track map with his inputs. 2 different styles, but both are effective.

I don't think it 100% proves that actually, it could also suggest Hamilton has a superior spacial and temporal awareness, I would suggest the very greatest drivers have this supreme ability. You think Senna would be nearly 10 seconds out on this test? Nope. Also Hamilton does correct a few times.

@deloford initially when I saw it I thought Hamilton turned too quickly for turn 4 (the first real deviation) so I ran next to real onboard video. Hamilton does get turn 4 wrong and continues to under estimate sections by a small amount.. Button does the opposite, he starts off well but over estimates the long straights by some margin. Shame its the worst track in F1, would love to see this for Monaco.
