nah, waiting on the world is quite okay. I guess the thing about solo piano arrangements is that it can add too much additions that divert from the original else it'll be too simple. The closest pieces are dreaming and slow dancing, which work great for piano. I find belief attempt on piano can often dramatize a bit much with too low octave thunder bass rather than to emulate the smoother treble / mid bass effect in the original.
Is this the actually written piece that john's piano player plays? My friend is trying to find the piano music to his song and I am gonna tell him to watch this video if so!
@Ridespinnerz22 I just made up everything I'm playing here, so while they might be close to what John Mayer's keyboard player does during concerts, that wasn't the intent.
The closest one is probably Dreaming with a Broken Heart, there's really only one way to play that "right."
I really enjoyed listening to this, every interpretation...great job. The Garritan Steinway sounds a lot better than what I thought it would...very expressive, and I love the sustain resonances in it. They really show through while you are playing "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" and "Belief", esp.
man every single one of those songs are soo well done its crazy, you should do a tutorial for each one it woujldnt take too long and you would be helping so many people, thanks
I suppose you can train your ear to an extent, but mostly it comes natural. I haven't had any lessons on any instrument, but I can work out a song on piano or guitar in 5 minutes.
Hey do you have any advice for someone who can read music and is trying to learn how to play by ear? I want to learn to play like this, but only being able to read music is limiting me..
Can you tell something about the requirements of Garritan Steinway? Till now I'm using Native Instruments Akoustik Piano and it uses about 15-20% CPU (T8400).
I couldn't ever get Akoustik Piano to work on my setup. If you can run Akoustik Piano you should have no problem with this the garritan steinway. I'm running it on an old 2.0ghz (T2500) Core Duo Macbook using Logic as a host and it runs perfectly. As long as you're streaming the samples from a 7200rpm drive you should encounter no problems. It's made to run on very modest systems, and it does.

you should download a simple riff, and try to play it on the keyboard, like you need to train your ear, you slowly gets better, so practice!
