Nice work! I make Fae pieces as well...but I don't have to sand. They come out smooth. I have a light hand. But your work is marvelous! Do keep bringing us more of your wonderful creations!
@runemal909 I am not picky about smoothing my sculptures before I cure them.. Some smooth with a brush etc.. before baking. I do it subtle and then sand later on..It all comes down to personal preference. Thanks and I hope to show more soon.
@cubomania3 The acetone I use is from the hardware store.. It is not costly. The acetone in nail polish remover can color or mess up your piece. Hope I helped!
I think in the vid I am using 120 Grit. Yes it removes prints but also causes scratches. If you just want to remove prints you can use acetone alone. :) But be careful acetone is like a face lift for sculptures! LOL Tiny drops and not rub in the same area. (Qtips preferred) One stroke in each area at a time. You don't want "white" marks caused by the acetone or goopy like clay. Hope I helped!
I forgot to add that you can go to finer grits gentely but for me 120 is enough to get the job I want done. The acetone ends up removing all my marks anyways caused by the sandpaper. I am not sure what it may do to colored clay but I do believe moving to finer grits is best.
His body looked like a cooked chicken.
But you did a great job. they both look adorable

cute babies. quick question, what number grit is the sand paper, and can you sand away fingerprints also?
