This is total BS. Hypnotism does NOT work this way. Flashing random patterns of light in someone's face will not hypnotize them! This is like some bad movie plot. Or was that guy who got "hypnotized" an actor, and the whole idea to see how far his "friends" would go? That would at least be believable. Otherwise this is a total impossibility.
one more thing. i really love how Darren is honest about his talents and the fact that it doesn't take away from the ABSOLUTE amazement. i could watch him all day.

The fact is, absolutely nothing about this video lead me to believe it was real. His friends' reactions were probably the biggest red flag for me. Who can watch their friend be put into a prank like this and not even make a comment or crack a smile? Hell, anyone I know would be laughing their asses off; at the very least while watching him on the monitors.
@Abester420 The friends immediately recognised Derren Brown, IMHO and that is why they didn't freak out. It's like, "oh it's just Derren, so it's going to go off in a minute but it will be okay". Great fun.
@DSMeT To me, they seemed confused whilst he was being placed on the stretcher. And the guy friend was smiling when he was watching him, but I do find it strange that they didn't ask "What's going on?" But maybe that part was edited out or maybe they just "went with the flow".
Criss Angel and Derren Brown are two completely different types of magicians/illusionists. Angel is known for his illusions, but Brown is famous for his mentalism and openness to his dishonesty and that's the difference.

I think maybe you could upload the Mind Control seasons if you have them? here in America we don't have any of his stuff and the person who first uploaded them took em down.

It is a little strange that his friends didn't freak out.
I guess all magic is "staged." Nobody really pulls a rabbit out of thin air.
It's the slight of hand and the use of props that create the illusion of magic.
Does Darren Brown go too far with his props? Does trick photography count as a prop?
Magic is all about suspended belief. You can only take it so serious anyway.
