They wrecked the LP640, well, it's not limited production car like the Reventon or Ferrari's Enzo.

The LP640 is being made until it's replacement comes along, so although it may be in small numbers, it's not limited. So I guess they were fine with wrecking it.

There are plenty of companies that build replicas, but that Murcielago is the real deal. Automobili Lamborghini sent them 3 cars for the film. I think they wrecked all 3. It made all of the local papers in Chicago where they filmed the movie. It is sad that they wrecked such a beautiful machine just for a movie, but product placement is big business in film.

Nope. Lamborghini donated (yup, FREE) THREE LP640s to the film company to use in the film. One was the perfect pretty car Bale is shown in and around. The other two were less-perfect and modified for the crash to protect the stunt driver. The stunt worked the first time, so the 2nd crash car survived. I believe all three are going around as show cars these days.
