  • please reply what kind of paper are you using? im planning on buying some pro markers and i wanted to know what kind of paper is good for them

  • @shizznatzyo - This is regular printer paper. But as you can see, the ink bleeds very easily.

70 lb paper is best; it will still bleed though, just not nearly as bad- and it won't kill your pens by absorbing all of the ink.

Heavy card stock is also a good idea. :)

  • Finally, a tutorial from someone who uses markers for ART and not friggin' rubber stamps.

  • dosen't using letraset on normal paper ruin your markers? i tried one of mine ages gao and it didn't work for a week. that's why i use bleed proof

  • @girocoffy1234 - bleedproof paper helps, but using printer paper won't kill them dead. :3

a lot of bleedproof paper has the consistency or construction paper. THAT will kill your pens really fast.

  • @girocoffy1234 Cheap/thin paper won't hurt your markers, but the paper won't work well with them and it's the paper that'll get ruined.

  • @msanniemc

    Absolutely right. :3

  • please reply what is the difrence between water based and alcahol based???

  • please reply what is the difrence between water based and alcahol based???

  • @smilyfacerockz Water based will not blend as well as alcohol based; water based will streak a lot more if the ink is dry.

  • i think u'r marker is empty

  • I find it useful to color it when its penciled and the fill in the lines over the marker.

    Nice picture :)

  • @rorymorris1

yes, that is also useful! Thank you. :D <3

  • They look like they don't color that comfortable.. Because the nip seems really hard. (maybe they aren't xD) I like kind of flexible soft nibs..

    But are Promarkers good? =]

  • @DancingSquash

They are comfortable with my hands because I prefer a sturdy tool to work with. brush tips are nice, but its easy to ruin them.

promarkers are fantastic to work with if you're comfortable with them. sometimes it takes a while. but i've always worked with solid pen tips. :3

  • what black pen do you use to do the outlines? I have'nt found one yet who don't smudge with the colour... :(

  • @superdupersubmarine - i use staedler pens. some people use Microns, but don't use staedler erasers on microns- they will pull up the ink. when it comes to coloring over certain pens, the markers will make it run if 1) they haven't had time to dry or 2) if you're purposely/accidentally coloring on the lines too much.

    hope this helps. :3

  • Wow, your marker looks pretty dead D:...

  • lol yeah, i had to replace it the next day. =/

  • how is it possible?? right now i have in my left hand my last drawing completely ruined because the marker dry too fast... i used the letraset bleedproof marker pad... please suggest me something helpfull T__T

  • All I can suggest is this:

    -work a bit faster

-or stay in one area. before moving to another on the pad. when you stop coloring one spot to color another- it gives both areas time to dry. if you need to switch spots, do it quickly.

Also- Because you're using a bleed-proof paper, it will absorb the ink a LOT faster- and your pens will die quicker. Because the ink is absorbed so quickly, it will dry faster. =3 try using printer paper, as it does not absorb ink so fast. Printer paper bleeds --

  • thank you very much you're really kind ^^

  • and because printer paper bleeds, you need to be careful inside lines. =3

    Good luck!

  • ProMarkers do the live long?

  • like most pens- it just depends on how often you use them. =3

i use them quite often so they usually last me about 2 months if i use them about 3-4 times a week.

  • Really neat. I've been using Letraset's markes for a few years. They are great, but the darker colored ones are unforgiving xD

    Checked your dA, btw C;

  • wierd but cool drawing lol are pro markers hard to blend?

  • they can be if you let them dry.

  • tria markers are much better

    and the same price

you should of done a tutorial on those

  • In case you didn't do your reasearch- These markers are made by Tria. =3

Tria is slowly discontinuing their current line of pens to make new ones. It really doesn't matter, they give the same color.

  • ''It really doesn't matter, they give the same color. ''

yeah but they have 3 tips

i'm aware that both pens are both made by letreset .

and ..it's not like tria's are hard to find ....

  • Lol, so what's the difference?? It's all personal choice... I Don't Care.

  • Dude, that is a sweet drawing. I haven't checked yet, but I hope you made a tut on how you drew and inked him.

Do you have a DA or FA page or something like that?

  • can i use *aquarell ** pape for pro makers too ??.. btw which paper did u use ?

  • I just used regular printer paper- but put a piece of scrap paper behind it, because it'll bleed. D:

  • You can use aquarell paper with markers. You can layer the colors really well on that kind of paper. Just experiment with different kinds of papers.

  • Yes-- different papers with different weights are always good to try. I find that 70lb paper is good for me. It doesnt wrinkle, but the colors still bleed through. which doesn't bother me as you can see. XD

  • No. I am more musically inclined, but I love art and the Predator Movies and I sometimes mess up with spelling. D'OH!

  • Awesome work! Can you draw and color the preditor?

  • LOL!! The predator?! Hmm... I might. Do you have deviantart?

  • good job :D

  • thank you!

  • ur in is running out in this vid init?

  • yeah, the blue started to run out on me... =/ terrible thing to happen. That's why i made his tail green instead. lol

  • haya been watching yout vids very good iv been using the markers for a while now quite used to them theres just one thing i find buggs me from time to time, when i have to go away from the picture due to real life things and come back to the picture later when i start colouring again the ink over laps with the previos colours i was doing making a patch of darker colour area is there anyway of sorting this out?

  • Ahahaa... Ah yes- the ever so mean dried ink.. I mentioned it in my first video.. DON'T LET YOUR INK DRY.. D=

it's your worst enemy. =/ if you have distractions, i don't suggest you use your pens at that time. once again i mentioned that in the first vid. ^^ the most you can do it not get distracted.

    Thanks again for watching!
