Neither did he "personally" order the death of the Tsar's family, and war communism was approved and legislated by the Petrograd Soviet, which means it had been voted on and approved by millions of people across the entire country.

Lenin is certainly not blameless and is responsible for much suffering and death, and I don't think that should be excused. But I will defend his legacy and the socialist revolution that he was so instrumental in. In spite of its failure and defeat, and its grotesque caricature under Stalin and his successors, the brief moment when the most utterly downtrodden and oppressed people took power into their own hands will always stand out as one of the most spectacular episodes in history.

When Stalin came to power, the true communism, which was the one of Karl Marx and Lenin were now being trapped by Stalinism. Well, not quite....usually leader is translated with "Anführer"....only HITLER called himself "Der Führer"..."Führen" usually means "to guide/to lead", while "anführen" means "to lead/to be in charge".

There are also german movies made in the German Democratic Republik about Ernst Thälmann, the great leader of the german working class in the Weimar Republic and Fighter against fascism and war called "Ernst Thälmann - Sohn seiner Klasse" (Ernst Thälmann - son of his class) and "Ernst Thälmann - Führer seiner Klasse" (Ernst Thälmann - leader of his class).

We call Lenin and Stalin "Führer der Partei der Arbeiterklasse" (Leaders of the working class party) or "Führer der fortschrittlichen und friedliebenden Menschheit" (Leaders of the progressive and peaceloving mankind) depending on the historical respect in with we talk about them.

First off, the notorious "100 kulaks" letter was not an order, but advice. Lenin was not afraid of killing those who threatened the revolution, or getting his hands dirty, but to say he personally was in charge of the Terror is simply factually false.
Neither did he "personally" order the death of the Tsar's family, and war communism was approved and legislated by the Petrograd Soviet, which means it had been voted on and approved by millions of people across the entire country.

Lenin is certainly not blameless and is responsible for much suffering and death, and I don't think that should be excused. But I will defend his legacy and the socialist revolution that he was so instrumental in. In spite of its failure and defeat, and its grotesque caricature under Stalin and his successors, the brief moment when the most utterly downtrodden and oppressed people took power into their own hands will always stand out as one of the most spectacular episodes in history.

yes i am aware of what they were doing! prehaps it was the Bolsheviks fault for failing to recocnise the peasants desire to own there own land without grain requisitioning! later when the nep was introduced The peasant problem became less severe. The peasants were in my view protesting againts the part war communism policy which effected the country side! the hanging did very little to motivate peasants into producing more grain it was the NEP so i feel repressive action like this were bad

I never heard someone make the row as long as you did. I know Stalin was a counter-revolutionairy as was Mao. But Kim Il-Sung was just a plain nut that and a big enemy of the working class. Hoxha was so out of his mind that I don't even know how to caracterise him politically.
Stalin, Mao, Kim and Hoxha.. Those murderers were one of the biggest enemies of communism.
Stick to marxism please. Stick to the revolutionairy line of Lenin and Trotsky.

Ah, great! It's sure annoying when antagonists of Marxism try and discredit on the grounds of Stalinism and their counter-revolutionary tendencies, but it's even more so when the people on your own side picture them as great figures to look up to. First at all, that was in Stalin's government, not Lenin's revolution. So Lenin has to do nothing here. When Stalin came to power, the true communism, which was the one of Karl Marx and Lenin were now being trapped by Stalinism. Lenin was even against Stalin, and Stalin even killed Trostky, and other real communist revolutionaries. So is not Lenin's fault that that happened, is Stalin's fault.

Well, yes, Lenin wanted communism around the world, I don't deny that. Like Karl Marx, who go to France, England, and other countries, but the deaths happened on Stalin's power, who killed all those real communist who eve belonged in the Bolsheviks. If you would had post your comment in a Stalin's video, I would had understand, but not in a Lenin's tribute video. Lenin wanted true justice for the community, while Stalin wanted power and control. Wait, the Soviet Union was first anti-German, before Stalin made an alliance with them. Poland didn't wanted to ally with them, and a conflict began. Of course, all this happen in Stalin's power, not Lenin's power. Yes, Lenin and even Marx wanted Poland as part of the communist government, but Stalin was the one who set a war not Lenin. You can't fault Lenin, just because he he was a Bolshevik. It's like faulting Einstein for the nuclear bomb, just because the E=mc^2 was the key for it.
