Obama-why would he mock the Bible and Christianity?

He said, Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? [gives a few examples] or should we just stick to the Sermon on the Mount?" He's giving an option, do we consider everything the Bible says, or do we just cherry pick the good parts, IE the Sermon on the Mount. How were the first passages taken out of context? You didn't explain how whatsoever. Jesus wouldn't say to turn the other cheek to terrorists? Isn't that exactly what he preached?
