i have seen beautiful works of art from china and japan. i just dont get it tho. the japanese have an element of space philosophy not a lot of emphasis put within there art yet they make brilliant animation. china puts fine detail within its art pieces yet cant seem to get animation right. what gives ? O__o
Hey one of the greatest anime of all time Dragon Ball is completely based on Chinese mythology so really they influence each other. I'm happy to see that not all anime come from Japan.
Why people think Chinese copy Janpanes animation? When you say that please check Chinese history. Japanese copy everything from China。 If you check their clothes , just same as our King who build the great word that time. It is clear, who copy who, I suggest you watch Nezha Conquers The Dragon King (1979) Just make sure you know the background. A lot people think, China is just like HongKong that a one city/town,because they never know China and never try to look at but they think that is.
Is it wrong for China to be influenced by Japan? Do you know how a child supposedly learns? They attempt to copy their environment. In fact, its not just children who try their best to copy their peers but you too. Think of it this way, China chooses only to learn from the best. You, who makes ridiculous arguments, copy from your peers who make the same arguments, in attempt to be better at what you do. Sadly.
@gacktfan If thats true then America bootlegged Japan when they created Avatar the Last Airbender. Please, read Rasenth's comment above. Anime or atleast anime-like cartoons have been seen in multiple Asian countries, Korea, China, Taiwan, etc..
@gacktfan "Copied" and "bootlegged" have their own differences you know in terms. Also if we really want to put guidelines on who copied who first, then shouldn't it be both China and Japan in collaboration with one another to originate more artistic credibility?
@gacktfan Then you my friend, are an idiot. Why don't you go and say the Americans "bootlegged" Japanese anime with their cartoons, such as Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Just because a concept started somewhere doesn't mean that concept cannot transcend cultures. If you make claims like that, the Chinese could easily make claims to all the money in the world, all the gunpowder in the world, all the numbers, all the tea, all the silk, all the porcelain, etc.
@gacktfan I really don't understand close-minded people like you. If you don't like the Chinese people, just admit it and get on with your life. Don't make pointless arguments on the internet to justify your hatred, especially when you're too stupid to refute someone else's points with just a single line of "beats being a copyying deuce like these people."
@8aetroya8 I like the way you stated that. That makes absolute sense. I must say though I like the feel this evokes. The music is moving the ambient sound of the rain& thunder gives it quite a cinematic feel.I don't think their that far off in animation.
the thing is that in the begining 2 chinese and 1 japanese startet to make animation .but then the war came and the japanese wen't back to japan. so there they sepreited, but we have the same roots in the animation world. and a lot of the chinese animtaion is about the dynasti china times
Also there's no such thing as "anime style". The style of anime is influenced by the artist's own style. The correct term would be "manga style" but it doesn't sound as good XD
This reminds me of "legend of the condor hero" Chinese anime...I think that Chinese and Japanese culture are both beautiful and distinctive. They both have been influential to each other, like a good relationship, each have grown and garnered their own flavors through the centuries. The same could be said of many cultures of the world.
The correct term is 'influence' not 'copy'. As a Chinese I think its great that some countries preserve a part of our culture. Did you know? Alot of Japanese culture is actually similar to Tang Chinese culture.
I think Japan should invest more animation companies in China. I see alot of potential plots and ideas hidden within Chinese culture. There are many things in Chinese culture the world still does not know about.
yeah and china was the center of asia the supper power of asia at thous times so they wore influensing a lot of other countries cultures . but so did the other cultures influence chinese culture
Since the world is heading towards globalization, it's pretty obvious that different countries will influence EACH OTHER. Thus you can say both China AND Japan influenced each other. And who said a certain country has a "copyright" on a certain style? Does it honestly matter who came first? Not only that, people bring in their own individuality (GASP!?) into their own works. Claiming that there is simply one-sided mindless copycatting or complete plagiarism is just plain silly.
Cant say Japan copied China culture, but Japan is strongly influenced by the ancient Chinese culture. the most ironic thing is Japanese actually keeps some Chinese characters which Chinese(include Taiwan) does not use nowadays
@jarodpaulsun They are many things that the Japanese, Koreans and Vietnamese have preserved from ancient Chinese culture that the Chinese today does not use. The most obvious is our traditional dress, which is the hanfu. However, many of us see our traditional dress as the qipao due to thousand of years of assimilation.
I fear that it is true that Japan...erm..."copied" China, and not the opposite. I love Japanese culture, but it is true. I wouldn't talk of someone copying though. It's rather kinda of a bilateral influence between both of them. And I'm keen on both. ^^
chinese animation has potential! i saw like 2 mins of storm riders clash of the evils and was really impressed. if that was made into a series i think it might become more popular than dbz

watch it at random part they'll start waving red banner . Also animation is very choppy and low detailed . its like watching flash cartoon . japan > china
Sorry, chinese do not follow japanese style of animation. The reason many Japanese animation has golden hair and very white skin is just like what EggYolk said, and also chinese animation has lots of chinese characterisitcs, if you never study or know about chinese culture then please dont give your opinion, because it would be just bias anyway.

Animation is an act of mental masterbation. Chinese should DEFINITELY NOT learn from Japanese animation. It is a f**ked up culture to begin with. It's pathetic to see in the Japanese animation how much they wanna have big blue eyes and blonde hair. At least in the old chinese cartoons, asians look like asians.

hmm y r u people giving him below 6 and made it spam..this is sooooo true..even im a anime/ manga lover i still agrees with him and stop giving him - because of the truth!
actually the reason for big blue eyes and blond hair in anime is because when anime started in the 1960s many of the major artists were heavily influenced by American Animation. Astro boy and the like you'll see many of the same cartoon curves and style as American cartoons of the same time, it's just something that stuck. There animation has developed into its own style over the years, but key principles like that will remain no doubt.
It looks a lot like the Japanese styled anime, but then again everything out there is copied to an extent. Frankly I found the music to be really well done in this piece. I liked it a lot, I just wish I could watch more of it,
i think their are are similarity, but one big diference i find is that, chinese Animation is more heavily in detail, if you look at japanese animation its more cartoony and less detail.

This anime sucks...No offence or anything but I find Japenese anime much better, in fact 60% of the world perfers Japenese anime, while 29% perfers American, and at last china 11%...
Anime is the Japanese word for animation, we might anything that is animation is anime. However, in the culture I suppose it has somewhat adapted to only meaning that style.
wow... sorry, but this is just sad. I don't care if it's Chinese animation or Japanese anime, cheap shots like the jerky, repeated sequence at 4:30 are just not acceptable. Don't bring this out as an ostensible representation of chinese animation. It makes me weep inside. Also, tentacle RAEP WTF? Why make the ending like something copied from final fantasy?
without china japan would have never come into existance.

Hmm good thought.
It is sad when someone copies their favorite comedy actor...and people get mad/ or perhaps american followed after japanese anime in their cartoons...
why is it bad?
It is the world's biggest compliment if someone repeats my jokes or wants to know how I did a certain art technique.
I agree, it is not bad, but an honour to influence the world
