At first glance it looks quite good. Design and some features remind me on Nuendo, some on Wavelab. I will try out the audio engine, if it does not sound worse than the realtime rendering with steinberg software (and that shouldn't be a big deal) I will give studio 1 a try... I am also curious if it can compete wit Protools concerning audio quality.
@kmrohe Hi Kmorohe! It can and does. Check out some of the more recent videos we have concerning the updates just released in Studio One 2, including integrated Celemony Melodyne and transient beat detection.
I'm a student of music and so I had the chance to work with every sequencer which has a name on the market. Pro Tools, Logic(i really really hate it), Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase and Propellerheads Reason . But no sequencer has such a good sound, such good workflow and such a nice technic as studio one! Now I use it as my favourite music production software and have just benefits with it! Great for my creativity!
I believe some of the Studio One programmers were formerly Cubase/Nuendo programmers.
These particular programmers had great ideas but the cubase/nuendo bosses didn't want to hear it nor did they want to change so they went elsewhere or were fired and came up with Studio One.
I own it a month a go....İt has better performance then Cubase 5.. But there is no "freeze" option like Cubase.. How can I freeze my audio channels.. Any advice?
if i alter some notes in a short sample, how do you apply changes made to a sample-wavefile with melodyne editor in Studio One?
I mean like you do in wavelab for instance, there you have a button called "process" and then you have a new processed file, dont need to have the plugin enabled and can continue working with the audiofile
This software (studio one and studio one artist) is very user (dumbass) friendly (I speak for myself) making it more time efficient, thus increasing the rate of productivty. Making it a very sexxy audio recording software. I'm quite drawn to it. In fact if I didn't love Pam, I would definitely have sex with it. Wow I'm all sweaty... I need to take a cold shower. I'm kinda embarrased... Excuse me.
To me it seems a bit cheesy to bash other products to hi-light their own DAW. Even more if it's not reflecting the reality. For example, Cubase has "one click ready" FX chains, it's called "Track Presets" . Together with the "Media Bay" unbeatable when it comes to this kind of tasks.
yeah its pretty weak how they compare like that, it's obviously going to look more fluent when you have a PreSonus rep working their flagship software and then working the competitions, I would give some props though, the vst to audio thing seems very convenient as to PT
I received Studio One Pro last week and I am blown away how kool this DAW truly is.I also had no problems getting my new axiom 49 keyboard to work with it either. Thank you Presonus
You can tell the "other software" operator doesn't know key commands and other shortcuts that greatly improve workflow. Mousing, click and drag is actually slower than key commands and macros. You can even see the operator right clicks by mistake in one of the comparisons.
@TheSoundDrifter The comparation is not about keyboard shortcuts, so your argument drops! It's exactly about mouse clicking and drag and droping, things that Studio One dos faster and better! It's also about the fact that a simple interface is better than 10.000 buttons!
@TheSoundDrifter The video it's about worklow, but it isn't including all the elements of presonus, or all the elements of logic, pro tools or cubase! It's just a simple comparison of basic workflow, not the complete overview of every shortcut, macro, template, and other things like that. It show's that S1 is more easy and fast to use in basic utilization than other DAW.s! And yes, for now, Studio One and Ableton Live, are the best DAW's out ,no doubt about that. Fast workflow, pristine quality!
They are only showing that DAW companies don't listen to their customers when they ask for fast workflow. FL Studio is one of the only DAW like Studio One to have it. I can from booting up in FL, write a 8 beat melody and export it around 10 seconds. All thanks to the fact it takes 1 sec to boot up, 1 sec to load a vst and around 4 sec each to record midi and export a WAV. It also helps the fact that FL has 2 octaves on the computer keys so you don't have to have a keyboard. Speed is important.
there is something very special about this software. I think ive found my passion again for writing songs..

@oml1 I was wondering about that as well.

@RobbieOtto we can bounce our tracks. But freeze is important for core 2 duo stuff...
We hope there will be freeze oprtion in Studio One 1.8

If this thing has the auto-midi copy when you expand a sequence like sonar or logic, then this is the super duper best DAW ever O_o

im not saying its a bad DAW. im simply saying why does it have to be advertised like a burger king commercial?
jinko17 2 years ago 7
I think it's a little more in-depth than that. What wrong with comparing two products side-by-side?
jordan7485 2 years ago 2
@jinko17 It´s a cultural thing, I guess. American advertisements just sound this way.

A lot of doubt here, sorry. S1, when it matures, will be a competitor.
