having seen your super design, I'm much less inclined to go out to spend $850 on the Inside Ride product!. I have a Tacx Antares T1000 and will try to make a base for it which is similar to yours. Could you possibly send me some "close up" photos of your base for some inspiration please?. I can be working on it for the duration of our depressing Irish winters. johncollinsmrcvs@gmail.com
Like kds471, I have also copied your design. I have not concentrated on the same quality of build but it does work! Thanks very much. You have enabled me to build what I wanted and have some fun along the way. If you are looking for some resistance so you can "ride a few hills" have a look at what I have done with rare earth magnets on my rear roller.
You have inspired me to blatantly copy your ingenious design as I am partial to woodwork vs metal fabrication. I am curious to know how well yours has held up so far specifically the 1x stock holding the wheels... I am going with 6 wheels strategically placed close under the existing feet per your advice and was wondering if 8 wheels are indeed better.

The construction looks super clean. Very sleek design. Hoping to make something like this for the rainy days that are starting up by my house.

Great job!!! Do you have any still photos that you can post for us to see how everything fits together? I would really like to make one just like it.

Thx! I couldn't pull the trigger on the oak so I went with poplar...hopefully frugality doesn't lead to failure!

@kds471
The poplar should work just fine because the wheel wear is between the wheels and their axels.

@kds471 It's holding up fine. I did make it out hardwood (red oak).

that's a beautiful setup.

This is incredible! Probably too crafty for me -- I'm going to go the "bolt wheels to the trainer" route, I think. Seems easier to me.
