its just a culture in thePhilippines. as early as singers learn how to speak, they are trained to belt out really high note-songs.so its just a usual thing to see and hear tons of young singers like her age doing these. instead of singing abc's or mary had a little lamb.LOL

No her hair's not real, silly. The one in the beginning when she was talking is. The premise of this contest is for kids to be their idols. She chose Chaka Khan - hence her hair's like Chaka Khan in the 90's.... Charice Pempengco was also in this very same contest and she was Whitney Houston - she also had Whitney's hair (or wig that is)....
