  • I found one of these tvs at an antique store for 5 bucks but i have no clue if it works. where can i get a power cord?

  • @DancingFroMan Try ebay,it was their standard power cord from this model for several years.Search for early sony tv power cord.

The 12 v power cord is the DCC8 which has bare wire ends to go to a 12 volt battery or the DCC2AW with a car cigarette lighter plug, you would search for these on ebay also,I've seen them on there

  • it is very nice !

  • Wow, the picture tube is awesome on this set!

MOMA New York has one of these sets on display.

  • sony trinitron - built to last, asamalacum brother - you have done a nice job on that tv, does the screen have any imperfections or is it free from scratches

  • haha a bug was walking

  • that is awesome! does it work with a digital converter?

  • @lokeycmos Hi in this video it's receiving analogue transmissions, these last here till next year. The TV will work with a digital converter box DVD etc

  • is is electrically restored? because that picture is amazing!

  • @SpeakerFreak95 Thanks.Yes I restored the TV.

  • pretty clear for B and W

  • DXTV?? 500 miles?? wow.

  • Sony referred to it as the frail lady because it had problems with overheating that would be ironed out in the next model, the w503 of 1962.

  • History's breakthrough! Good job!

  • respond time = 1 ms much better then lcd =D

  • Amazing picture quality for a Black and White TV.

  • niceeeee

  • At the time this was also one of the smallest TVs available. Sony would greatly eclipse this four years later with a 3" set the size of an ice cream carton.

  • @douro20 You probably mean this TV here

Put "Old Sony 4" TV from 1964" into youtube search

  • @douro20 Philco already had them beat in 1959, look up a portable TV called a Philco Safari, the screen was under three inches in that set.

  • That's really nice. Take good care of it.

  • @friedie1jeff Will Do...I have 3 of them !

  • iTS AN ALEAN DEVICE BE CARFUL

  • This TV is as old as my dad o.Ó

  • @intelinside1990

    rofl, same

  • Kind of sad that you will need to replace the tuner with a digital one if you want to keep using it

  • @2010mustang2 Nonsense, he can use an external converter box or just hook it up to a DVD player, or cable.

  • That's the first time I've seen one running. Thanks for posting!

  • well that looks handy

  • That is really historic. Love it.

  • OMG! just look at the picture quality.. it's just perfect.

  • Basically; could you give me all the info you know about this TV or tell me where I can find it?

  • Hi

There's lot of information, put Sony TV 8 301 into google

  • They are all the same as the Sony's frail little baby thing

  • I made the page. This video is an external link; if you could make a Narrated one and go into some detail it could be a reference. Oh yeah, can you upload an impage of it to wikipedia?

  • Hi, I'm the Maury Daniel is mentioning :-) Daniel has written a nice placeholder article for the 301, but it desperately needs a picture. Might I convince you to take a couple and donate them to the Wiki? I'd love to better preserve this bit of TV history.

  • saw it in Hungary second hand sites few times, can check.

  • Do you know Maury markowitz from Wikipedia? He wanted to write an article on this TV but it's hard to find sources.

  • and it stilll works ...

  • dang, thats clearer then my 1998 color sony tv hooked up to a dvd player

  • it has 2 HDMI outlets cool

  • I've got that TV.

  • i wonder if you could remove the analogue tuner and replace it with a digital one.. and wire it so it worked with the built in antenna

  • One could connect a converter box

modulator etc to the antenna input

jack.I wouldn't want to remove the

    analogue tuner.

  • Even back then, Sony had the same logo as they do today.

  • Freaking awesome

  • what a fuck??????

  • cool tv

  • wow nice TV I love it

  • Thanks

They come up on ebay USA fairly often

  • thats wonderful great job and great tv

working they're quite reliable despite what

varous internet sites say about them!

  • wow thats sweet.

  • super!

  • Thanks
