I think taking apart a helmet is too expensive. You can just blow up a ballon and build a Paper-maché helmet on that. Other than that I like how simple this idea is.

a tip for making the sword seem more real, just add a nice *sching* sound when he draws/sheaths it. Sound design can really make a difference! Awesome helmet btw xD

How did you make the fire in your hand? Was it trapcode particular...cause I haven't seen a preset that looks that good.

@rmunoz1994 I actually don't use After Effects or any of those plugins. The effect was done with a fairly old program called EffectsLab Pro. They have a great particle engine, so I messed around with that and added a lens flare. Thanks for the feedback.

that i found at a thrift store for $5. The styrofoam layer seems impossible to seperate from the plastic layer! :S

@TOTBFilms I cant use the plastic because the hat has a bill that gets in the way, so i still need to somehow crack it and get the styrofoam out of there. What did you guys do with the masking tape, smooth out the edges? I'm a little nervous with this project, i hope it turns out well. I will def show him the video and send you guys a pic of the finished work!

@lilsteriscool Oh. I hope that works, I have no other advice than to try it with brute force, since for us the helmet and Styrofoam separated easily.

The masking tape was used to cover the holes in the Styrofoam helmet and to make everything smooth before the paper mache.

As for the finished product, you can just upload a video response or whatever you wish :)
