re: @scone27 actually, i've spoken to numerous evangelical christians about this and most of the ones that are highly educated in the whole bible (ex. they studied it at university getting Doctorates etc.) for the most part agree that this sort of thing is just mass hysteria. see the whole Benny Hinn Fiasco for notes.

this kind of thing feeds on people that are susceptible to emotionalism. I've seen no biblical precedent for this kind of thing
