  • Hi... Do you know if the standard Seagate 1tb Portable HDD's are your standard satas inside? I to had one of them stink WD passports SE, and had the silly USB connecter already attached... I wanted a 1tb Sata HDD... Cheers for any help...

  • Sure, the lid is easily pulled off, but only a moron like you wouldn't notice that it bended the lid and will never look great once you fit it back on.

  • @jfsh210 why don't you learn basic English grammar before you call someone else a moron. "bended"....really?

  • thanks a lot. was trying to open my 1tb freeagent go to put it into my ps3. i got it open but unfortunately it wont even fit in the hdd bay let alone connect.unfortunately seagate and wd tend to just make larger drives whereas toshiba is actually be innovative and creating thinner and larger laptop drives. they now have a 400GB 9.5MM drive.

  • u had a freaking screw driver and u used ur nails 2 open it?

  • How is a 500 gb hdd not enough for a laptop, and yes I understand that it is a gaming rig made by Alienware.

  • wow, $129 AUD too as of AUG '10

  • Now can i take the mini serial connect from the external harddrive and use it on any other hard drive say i have an internal harddrive from my pc that is broke.

  • wtf, u opened it and were able to return it????didnt u void ur warranty

  • I know exactly what your talking about with the soldered sata to usb connector in the wd drives, it wasn't like that a couple months back, if you look on the drives, the wd drives that were manufactured before july 04 had the sata to usb connector and i could take that out and put it where ever, and yes, the new wd drives have very loose connections and has that gay partition.. i would recommend going to walmart and finding an older wd passport hdd, some of the walmarts might sell them

  • is that drive 12.5mm in height? and do you have any knowledge whether the 1tb freeagent go has the SATA interface in side the case?

  • @mikesong0323

it is actually a 15mm drive- a special size made by Seagate specifically for external devices. The 1TB is the same- 15mm thick and useless for a notebook application...

  • is that naruto in the background lol

  • Ha!, yes, I do believe it was.
