I wanted to point out for what its worth, when i resample to make basses i throw a line mixer in and a thor or other synth in so i have something that plays the same note i play on my resampled synth. Then adjust the different pitch knobs to dial it into key.
@MalleusDUB well thats the goal, adjusting the pitch in the sampler so that you can tune it to the note known to be correct in your synth of choice. adjusting the root and tune params in NNXT will get it dialed in pretty well. The only problem ive had using this practice is that the new bass dosent scale perfectly so if you go past about an octave you will find its out of tune again. I often find myself using it in conjunction with thor to add more character to my basses.
I get what you mean 100% with the bass parts phaser man.. I hate how it sounds different at different parts of the mix when you want it to sound the same, so sampling that is definitely a must.
@KingdomOfGiants I'm not on Reason 6 because new software is expensive. Got a lot of other expenses to pay for first and Reason 5 does the job. I won't really need the aux input set up if I ever upgrade but who knows.
@Laserturret Depends on what you're doing with the sampler. When it comes to just working with something like a reece or bass sample that you're going to edit I'd use the NN19 but if you wanted to chop up a bassline and resample it you could plug it into the NNXT and make some pretty cool effects.
@MOOVENDLOS just solo your synth/instrument that you wanna edit, and save it as .wav
then you can use another software like Sony Forge to edit your freshly created sample, you can add effects, cut or paste etc... after that you load it back to reason through a sampler like NN-19
resampling bass is not really a new thing, it's been done by many dnb producers to get twisted basslines, sounds that you cannot just tweak straight out of a synth, so it's more about processing a basic sound->saving as audio-> processing further etc.. etc..until you get the desired effect. and if wanna get into resampling you definitely wanna learn a DAW(Cubase,Logic) which uses vst plugins and has audio support
so I was watching, and have not tried this yet, but just wondered if you have re-sampled an entire drum loop? like with the bass snare and high hat?

@lildude198900 I haven't personally but it's definitely possible.

@superTomwins Not a bad idea. Does changing the pitch not change the sound of the newly made bass too much?

YO
Why arent you using reason 6?
do you think you would still use that crazy aux/line mixer setup you got if you had that new mixer that reason 6 has? Hit me back!:)

Thanks for another great tutorial bro. Do you prefer the NN19 over the NNXT for this sort of thing?

because they implemented the sample input option in Reason 5...it's not possible in version 4 unfortunately

why does this not work Reson 4? I can't right click and edit sample...

I've got "track" buttons on my midi controller which switch from one track lane to the next.

How are you selecting devices like that without going to arm them in the sequencer?
