@Jamil1982 I had to google Wake Gatame because I'm not as familiar with my Judo terminology as I should be. After seeing what it is I'm happy to say "no, I dont think you'll run into Wake Gatame". If you grab the far lapel, or post on the shoulder that may be a problem but with your hand on the near lapel I don think the distancing will be right to get caught. I've done this move a lot and I've never had a problem with being submitted.
@rturo22 You can place the thumb of your hand into their armpit and use the palm of your hand to cup the shoulder. If you really dont like the person or you are in competition you can take that same thumbs down position and place your palm on their chin. You will have your hand slip off a lot until you get the feel for it but it works well after you've repped it out.
