Funny thing is most carnuba waxes are only supposed to last a few months at most. In fall time I have had this particular wax last 4 months with a detail spray or wash to keep it clean. Love this brand of wax. Had much better results than other brands I spent more money on.
@mreyes14404 awesome, thanks again for the tip...I'm gonna get the clay bar kit tomorrow and do it to my Fit this weekend...it's not a GTI but still a pretty cool little car and the Blue Sensation Pearl color is the best, it almost glows in the sunlight! (here's a video of the same color below)
i recycled them already. 2 were cracked. and since i couldnt find these wheels in 19x8.5 anymore, i replaced them with the all black GT1 wheels. weather permiting ill upload a new video soon
No modification, just used P21 care products. First i washed, then dry'd, then i clay bared, then i polished, then i waxed. in all it was about a 5 hour job.
@oneirishpoet No worries. clay bar is a great way to get rid of paint contamination. its a piece of clay used with spray on wax/polish. it picks up all the micro little pieces of debris. its a great way to get an ultra smooth paint job. plus it helps the wax apply better. its reccomended to clay bar 1ce every 6 months.
@mreyes14404 thanks that sounds like just what I need for my '09 Honda Fit...I just waxed it and realized there's some 'gritty stuff' on the surface...where can a I find the claybar, I'm 50 y.o. and never seen it in auto store? (BTW, I was looking for a Fahrenheit but couldn't find one around here...love the color, and the car!)
@oneirishpoet thanks again for the compliments. you can find a clay bar kit fairly easy. i picked mine up from several places. most recently walmart! i know, i know... they had the cheapest price! the kit comes with 2 16ounce clay bars wach one is good for about 30 applications if used and maintained properly, the spray on detailer polish, and a microfiber towel. 19$ total. claybar takes about an hour. depends on vehicle ofcourse.
I think i've seen this gti at the vernon hills mall, parked outside of jcpenny, lots of times, i always drove by it and checked it out, i think it had some black bbs rims aswell, is this the same car?? becuase i haven't seen it there lately.

i tell you if you get the MKV and put 2 15's in their youll go def! remember that a hatchback is pretty much a cheat box for a sub. i have 1 10' alpine type r and that shit hurts my ears!. I love this car. its a great car to drive around, yet sporty enough for my needs. its very refined. i would deff reccomend this car. great horsepower, and even better MPG's! i average 29 City/Highway.

I just got some General Exlcaim uhp tires & they are awesome! They are way better than the Kuhmo's in my opinion & have really good grip. Did you go to Treffen 09? Are you in a car crew?
hey i 100% agree yep it looks much better than my stock one..im looking to paint like you and geting some eye lids for my head lights and LED tail light but ur tail lights look great like ther smoked or something..? but thats all on the out side...check out mine im posting more up soon when i get time..(walkaround,sound system launch control, 0-60,etc)

Thanks bro. i actually bought the car from the dealer this way. AutoBarn Motorsports VW. came with the painted valences, bumpers, and wheel/tire setup. the wheels are 19s. i loved this look over the stock look from a regular vw dealer.
Yup, I got it from Countryside too. I got it December of 2007. I'm pretty sure the came with some Khumo tires, right? If not, have you replaced the tires already, because I need to ASAP, & I'm looking for some good inexpensive tires that don't make too much noise. Any suggestions?
Yeah i got it April of 07, same tires. i rotated them every 5k miles. and i have some Blizaks for the winter. actually for the price... id probably stick with these kuhmo tires. @ 154$ per tire for ZR rated tires these are as cheap as is gonna get without substituting performance. Have you tried filling them with Nitrogen? i have. it helps with road noise, and overall wear for the tires.
you rims suck. The original ones are better.
