  • How do you low punch? LOl

  • This music sounds like the pink panther movies theme song lolzzz

  • @fromoldschoola ur an idiot

  • Good Music its better than the snes

  • the music of mario is better

  • this game is always exciting!! lol

  • Depends on what version on this game you have for the computer. If it is a newer version it uses better music.

  • i have one question. was there any gamepads available for pc at this time? because i cant imagine to play mk2 with a regular 2 button joystick.

im from germany so i apoligize for my bad english

  • anyone has the music from this video? I need exactly these, the PC version pieces

  • Raiden is ----- RAYDEN WTF !

  • Snap your fingers to the music, it's kinda catchy...

    Sike

  • Had this game back in the day. Although the music was balls (compared to the arcade version), it had the best sound f/x of them all, even better than the Saturn version (which I also played).

  • probe did the pc version ,so that explains the crappy music

  • @MrMarkman1981 Hey, fuck off, the music for MK1 on the Genesis is amazing.

  • Oh shit!!! the graphics are good, but the sound is awful...Anyway, in these years this was a very good version i think...i used to play the snes version and off course the arcade original game.

  • This version has that cartoony look like the Snes version.

    Same coding team perhaps?

  • Its not pc version

  • Damn......, even the sega genesis version seems arcade perfect compared to this and the best MKII version is on the Sega Saturn.

  • @igobyhogg Wrong. PSX version of MK2 is better than Saturn one due to less lag and more voices. I have both versions. Too bad MK2 PSX is rare.

  • Playing MK with a keyboard is AWFUL. That's why I have gamepads :)

  • WOW they didn't even spell Raiden's name properly 1:09-1:14 RAYDEN

  • @DDRFreak410 They did that in the SNES version too.

  • @nintendoboy17 Really? I never knew I only played this on PC and the Arcade Machine

  • @DDRFreak410 it was to avoid confusion with another game released oround that time

  • I love how the clouds and darkness at 0:46 look more detailed than the SNES/Genesis versions. It could be even better than the arcade!

  • How can you make a video with Scorpion and not throw his harpoon? :/

  • the blood in this game is creepy, roundkick a count 8 spashes....

  • This is the best version after the original (arcade). Music is the same like in the original, but you must have old Sound Blaster sound card. Today it is unfeasible ;).

Sega Saturn version is worst than the Amiga version, it;s a fact :)

  • how did u skip the beggining part?

  • bad music :S

  • @xXMethodKidXx all them old pc games were midi file music, you ever play final fantasy VII for the pc, the graphics are crisp as hell by the music is just horrible

  • i like this game verry much

  • brunthroath6912 idiot

  • Fu :D

  • Christ i remember this on PC. I deliberately went and bought a super nes to play this game purely because the sound was better... Early PC games ALWAYS had shitty music...

  • Damn, the music is so good I'll have to go online and track down this soundtrack. Fuck yes.

  • God, this is worse than the Sega Saturn version! The music is horrible!

I feel like I'm listening to an Atari....

  • sound rediculo!

  • The music is an epic fail in this version

  • @brunthroath6912 wtf happened to the music OMG

  • @brunthroath6912 I used to have this game for the pc back in 1995. It is actually the best version released of the game. The music is better than all the other platforms. However this music here is the 16 bit version. I remember there is a choice at the menu for 32 bit music. At that time no one had such a sound card but I am guessing its probably emulator issues here

  • @Turbinieris Im sorry but the snes version had better music than this.

  • @brunthroath6912 the snes version sucks, graphics sucks, the pc version is almost arcade perfect:)

  • @razorbulan AGREE ALSO

  • @brunthroath6912

The better version ot the music is for PC

  • @Roxaspf AGREE!

  • @brunthroath6912 SNES STINKS!

  • @TheSuperman401 MAME RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @brunthroath6912 that's because he is using the wrong sound settings.

  • @brunthroath6912 you rly gotta love Mortal Kombat to like the music ^^

  • @brunthroath6912 It may have depended on which type of soundcard the user had at the time.

  • @brunthroath6912 the arcade music is good but the pc version have the midi sounds what do you expect on ms-dos version but the music is still fine is not so bad:)

  • Does the music sound any different with a Gravis Ultrasound?

  • MK II is the most faithful conversion. This version is a 100% perfect port of the coin-op.

The coders had the source code, gfx from Williams/midway and then they converted the code LINE by LINE.

    1) PC version

    2) 32X version

    3) Snes version

    4) Megadrive version

    5) Amiga version

  • Yeah, that's exactly why the music sounds the same.

    You got any proof?

  • About The 100% faithfull Pc port ? You pick any magazine about previewing the game on PC, and you'll see that they had like with MK I port access to the coin-op source code (thanks to Midway).

As a result, they converted the code line per line on PC. It's not only a faithfull port graphically, it's a pure replication of the original on the code level.

  • Yeah, do you have any back issue proof? There are MK 1 and MK II magazine preview scans all over. I'm sure you'd be able to link to a scan talking about the PC version being a faithful port.

  • it's in french, so i guess it won't be any usefull to you.

  • The music does not sound the same, and that's the evidence of a faithful port. The arcade machine had the music stored as MIDI sequences which would play predefinite samples. The same MIDI sequences were used on the PC, PS1 and Saturn ports, but different samples were used in those ports. In the PC version, the MIDI sequences were either played through FM synthesis (with an AdLib or SB16 card) or with the samples that came with the audio cards (with a Roland, SB-AWE32 or Gravis Ultrasound card).

  • Conversely, the music code of MK3 for PC is not faithful to the original arcade code, because it did not include any MIDI player, nor any MIDI sequence at all. They were replaced by CD music, which sounded the same as the arcade but was obtained through a completely different method.

  • Points to consider:

    1. The "first stage" is the second to last stage in the arcade version.

    2. The tower music is the same intro music, which sounds like a lower-quality version of the real intro that's missing instruments.

  • i have this game on my DOS pc and the MIDI music sounds great on my Roland Sound Canvas SC-55, its even better than the mame version.

  • JESUS your 1 and 2 are widely considered the worst ones.

  • @willieg54 : Jesus has nothing to do with all this ! LOL make him stay out of this lmao !

PC and 32X versions use the same amount of colors as the coin-op when Snes, genesis and amiga are respectivelly using 200, 45 and 32 colors.

  • in my opinion the music kinda sucks. but the announcer speech is awesome! if it hat the music from the snes version it'd be the BEST Game in all mk2 ports

  • Amazing game! They don't make games like this anymore...

All they do is same stupid FPS games where you shoot thousands of stupid enemies.

This game is a classic in PC gaming history. Thank you for posting this intro, it brings back the good old memories.
