the air consumption of air at 60m is colossal and with a regular BCD buoyancy would be difficult, so on one tank it is near impossible. that is why i believe there are so many deaths.

I do not agree, it is not human error, please take a look at the Yuri Lipiski video on Youtube, he is at the top and is pulled down, he was a professional diver. He was alive as he was being pulled down and he shouted for help. There is professional divers (a group of them) watching his helmet camera but they cannot explain how he died or even what went wrong. I know there is something about those waters.
The number 1 reason why divers have accident's is human error. Even if your diving gear fail. You should have checked it! Maybe he was instructor, for what OWD? He went down alone! For the arche you have to do at least 60m. That's beyond the limit of sport diving.The sound you hear could be his regulator. My reg made strange noises at 30m. The first time you hear the sound, he wasn't that deep. He could have stop there, blow up his bcd or drop his lead. He should have known that.

@oipbhakeld i didnt realise how dangerous diving was. i was diving in a lake at capernwray and one of the guys didnt equalize his mask and got a mask squeeze. when he surfaced his eyes were sticking out of his head and he had to go to the eye infirmary.....needless to say his wife wont let him dive with us anymore.
Well actualy there's nothing about those waters..The thing is those people are diving way to deep without the appropriate equipement and training. If you're curious, take a look at the tek divers' equipement it looks really different from what we use for leisure. I'm sorry to say that but people who died in blue hole (let's say most of the time)..it was their own fault...

you simply cant ! The most dangerous is that if you come up with a breath from that depth on the way up the air will expand to an extent that your lungs will burst. Another reason is that you have to make decompression to avoid bends.

This nitrogen dissolves in the blood. While the diver is ascending, the lowered pressure causes the nitrogen to come out of the blood, forming small bubbles. To prevent these bubbles from becoming bigger, they need to be either re-absorbed into the blood stream or exhaled out through the lungs. if not your blood could turn to foam
The Bouyancy Control Device divers wear is just that. You hit a button and it inflates. If you rise too quickly though, you risk Nitrogen bubbles forming in your body tissues and in your blood, which can be fatal.

Martyn was a dive master and what I remember about the accident was that Connor had a problem with his inflator and Martyn went to help him (not the sort of problem you want at that depth) It's a case of friend helping a friend

Diving is an inherently risky sport (yeah, we all know that). The deeper you go, the more dangerous it becomes. When you deep dive, you utilize exotic gas mixes, which is risky in itself. There is nothing spiritual about the number of deaths at the Blue Hole. Logically, nature did not design the human body to be able to survive under those conditions. Accidents are inevitable.
Let's say that diving to ~100-120meters can be done with reasonable safety on trimixes( absolutely safe it will never be, but it will bear a controllable risk for a properly trained dive team with proper gear and gases).
But dives like Nuno did will never be safe and will currently be on the edge (because of HPNS). He had no other choice but to descent fast. Fast descent is a contributing factor for HPNS, so he had to add lots of nitrogen to combat HPNS. Catch-22.

40 meters its the real dangerous limit to sombody with this equipment and without any proper air mix! U suffer Narcosis, ansiety and delirium when u go deeper like that. 2 options then: He try to do somthing stupid and pass that limit or he have a buyancy problem and couldn't mantain is neutral buyancy. the air consumption of air at 60m is colossal and with a regular BCD buoyancy would be difficult, so on one tank it is near impossible. that is why i believe there are so many deaths.

I do not agree, it is not human error, please take a look at the Yuri Lipiski video on Youtube, he is at the top and is pulled down, he was a professional diver. He was alive as he was being pulled down and he shouted for help. There is professional divers (a group of them) watching his helmet camera but they cannot explain how he died or even what went wrong. I know there is something about those waters.

The number 1 reason why divers have accident's is human error. Even if your diving gear fail. You should have checked it! Maybe he was instructor, for what OWD? He went down alone! For the arche you have to do at least 60m. That's beyond the limit of sport diving.The sound you hear could be his regulator. My reg made strange noises at 30m. The first time you hear the sound, he wasn't that deep. He could have stop there, blow up his bcd or drop his lead. He should have known that.

it is human error. what, are you gonna say that was a shark on the bottom too? yuri was known for testing the limits of rec, one tank of air, deep diving. only problem w/ the dive where he died on is that he couldnt get positively buoyant at the bottom. if he was pulled down, hed have been shitting his pants, but his breathing remains regular the whole vid. so what are you talking about?

@oipbhakeld i didnt realise how dangerous diving was. i was diving in a lake at capernwray and one of the guys didnt equalize his mask and got a mask squeeze. when he surfaced his eyes were sticking out of his head and he had to go to the eye infirmary.....needless to say his wife wont let him dive with us anymore.

Well actualy there's nothing about those waters..The thing is those people are diving way to deep without the appropriate equipement and training. If you're curious, take a look at the tek divers' equipement it looks really different from what we use for leisure. I'm sorry to say that but people who died in blue hole (let's say most of the time)..it was their own fault...

you simply cant ! The most dangerous is that if you come up with a breath from that depth on the way up the air will expand to an extent that your lungs will burst. Another reason is that you have to make decompression to avoid bends.

you would die from DCS or an air embolism decompression sickness while scuba diving. As the diver descends, he breathes in the nitrogen in the air through the tank. This nitrogen dissolves in the blood. While the diver is ascending, the lowered pressure causes the nitrogen to come out of the blood, forming small bubbles. To prevent these bubbles from becoming bigger, they need to be either re-absorbed into the blood stream or exhaled out through the lungs. if not your blood could turn to foam

The Bouyancy Control Device divers wear is just that. You hit a button and it inflates. If you rise too quickly though, you risk Nitrogen bubbles forming in your body tissues and in your blood, which can be fatal.

I knew Martin. I was working in Sharm at the time and we did a trip together on a 'live-aboard'. I think it was only a few months later that I heard the news.
Friends and I planed to go up to Dahab and help in the search, and then we heard the terrible news that he'd been found.
Such a young life . . such a shame.

no matter how much are you xperienced or trained. Dive with air below 60 mt is dangerous. Why divers die in blue hole? because it's stupid to dive so deep. dark and cold and nothing. remember that recreational dive stops at 30 meters. you want go deeper? take a tec course!!!

Diving is an inherently risky sport (yeah, we all know that). The deeper you go, the more dangerous it becomes. When you deep dive, you utilize exotic gas mixes, which is risky in itself. There is nothing spiritual about the number of deaths at the Blue Hole. Logically, nature did not design the human body to be able to survive under those conditions. Accidents are inevitable.

Let's say that diving to ~100-120meters can be done with reasonable safety on trimixes( absolutely safe it will never be, but it will bear a controllable risk for a properly trained dive team with proper gear and gases).
But dives like Nuno did will never be safe and will currently be on the edge (because of HPNS). He had no other choice but to descent fast. Fast descent is a contributing factor for HPNS, so he had to add lots of nitrogen to combat HPNS. Catch-22.
