Not only is Ingrid Pitt (STILL!) a real stunner , she's a really , really sweet lady. I had the pleasure of talking with her at length a few years back. She did'nt seem at all affected by the pretensions that come with show biz.. Just very funny and very pleasant.

The Vampire Lovers was probably the sexiest of all the Hammer horror films, laden as it was with lesbian scenes. Any film having a trio of beauties such as Ingrid Pitt, Kate O'Mara & Madeleine Smith has to be worth watching. If you've read the book Carmilla, this movie really doesn't do the novel any justice. I can only hope that someone will create a film that is worthy of the book. While The Vampire Lovers may be a great movie, it's a horrible adaption of an amazing novel that was many years ahead of its time.

It's significant that the randy man-servant's name was Renton (Rinton?) in that it was the closest Hammer Studios came to the Renfield character in Dracula by name in any movie. Although Ludwig came close in character in the movie Dracula Has Risen From the Grave.

Additionally, the disappearance of Countess Carmilla, and the whole cat business, was the only display of sanguiophagous supernatural powers in any Hammer horror movie.

Still, to this day, Ingrid Pitt had the most magnificent boobs in all of horror cinema. She also had a role in one of my favorite Clint Eastwood films, "Where Eagles Dare". Viva Ingrid and her glorious breasts!!
