it happened to me once, some guards attacked one of my followers for some reason, so i waited 'til they kill him, then i resurrected him, and the guards came again!

this is whats called a radiant AI where the charecters realism and thoughts take over its programming, (i.e. if guards run out of food, they will steal or kill for more, most likely being the case here, or maybe an empire hater, therefore, he attacked martin, the other guards didnt see the guard attack martin, only martin killing the guard)

When Jauffre died for me, i took his chest piece and sword and went int othe big bedroom at the fort thing and put it on the bed in a marine like way and locked the door..on the pc btw

I had something similar to this happen in the Dark Brotherhood quest to kill the guard captain, I was under an invisibility spell in the guard's quarters he was in and it wore off for half a second, he saw me, then all his guards got up and just gangraped him for some reason.

na, everyone can survive but it is soooo hard to keep them alive. they suck and die instantly. what i did is put it on easiest level, got some arrows that have magic powers or a spell, that like does damage in a fifteen feet radius. the jus shoot them the second anyone comes out the gate, if u do it quick enough the people will jus stand there and will have a better chance of surviving when you run through the gate. you have to be quick tho :P

Dude Jaffre and uh...the redguard blades member i think die automatically cause like...i rushed that gate like mad man... 3 min tops and they were both dead !!1

he's not supposed to die but in that fight he's no longer marked essential so if he does get killed he's straight up dead. it's possible to keep them all alive, but it's very hard especially at higher levels.
