Val- Actually, I think many colors are more vibrant when it's raining, if the objects are relatively close. The refreshing, cleansing action on rain on foliage, and the smell of rain are amongst my favorite moments in life.
Don't get me wrong. From one artist to another, I very much like your painting, well all of them I've seen so far. At the risk of sound patronizing, daring to do unusual/unexpected things in your paintings is what gives your art intrinsic value.
btw-I think you're single for the same reason I'm am. There's no reason for you to settle for someone you don't think AND feel is the right one. You're highly independent and philosophically intellectual. Most guys can't handle that. Most guys want to have the control/power in the relationship, for you to be their source of pride and subserviant to their desires. Most guys will ultimately stifle your artistic creativity. That would be a terrible waste to see your talent tainted like that.

I am a single dad and had to work on V-day. I did take the time to bring my daughter flowers and candy! Only being 8 she loved the candy more than the flowers. I would love to hop on a plane (where ever you are Val?) and walk with you in that park (in the rain) and find a place where we can just sit down and have a simple conversation and lunch under a tree. With everyone running around us just to get out of the rain but you and I in the center watching it all. Did I tell u I and a good cook?

The perfect valentines date and the way to win your heart is by first reciting shakespeare's wonder-full words of love, which one must diligently memorize. also an oragami heart made by yours truly with a dozen crimson venus fly traps (potted) and a romantic candle lit beach side picnic with some vino. the night would begin with an acoustic rendition of a lovely belle and sebastian tune and a stroll under the pier. it is then back to the loft and a slow dance to "this magic moment" and a cuddle.

I've never had a romantic Valentine's Day :( I was hoping to have one this year but my girlfriend broke up with me... :( so I'll have to wait until next year... this year I will be lonely once again, woe is me. I had plans to bring my girlfriend flowers and have a candle lit dinner with her, but now my plans are in smoke. Instead I get to work on Valentine's Day! This sucks.
(part 2) I then put everything in a gift bag, brought it to the salon. I prepaid for his hair cut (plus tip) and asked the stylist to only tell him once he was done that his cut had been taken care of. I also asked that she give him the gift bag. I hope it was a great surprise for him (especially being the day before V-day). A lot of thought went into it and he deserves it! I hope to one day win (back) his heart....I am a sucker for fairy tale ending!!! :)
I truly love this guy. He was getting his hair cut tonight, so I decided to surprise him. He is a Superman fan and likes the idea of being strong and helping others etc. So, I was able to find a place in town that has these Superman cookies..really cute. So I bought one, then got some of his favourite treats at the health food store. Instead of a Valentine's Day card, I was lucky to find a Superman card...in it I wrote that he was my Superman...cheesy, maybe - but it comes from the heart.
What I would do if I wasn't working Valentines day is take my wife for a drive along the coast of victoria stopping off at a nice beach and having a picnic lunch. Then after a long walk on the beach I would then drive on to Melbourne and take her to visit the zoo followed by yum cha in the city at a nice chinese restaurant. When I take her home I would finish up with a box of chocolates and present and the rest is to your imagination.

When my girlfriend fell asleep I rearranged the furniture and taped wires and hoses to her and put a towel around her head, then woke her. She asked, what's going on? I showed her a 2010 Newsday (Photoshop) and told her she's been in a comma for a year, I said I needed to move on then showed her baby pictures and told her they were my kids. The best flowers to give a women are not red roses as most people think. It's orchids like the one that val has. The represent (pardon my spelling, I'm horrible at it) sophestication, femininity, their unique and are not common. They will cost a pretty penny, more then roses but they last longer and mean so much more.
Hmmm. After that walk in the rain I would sit you down in front of a crackling fire, serve you some wine, cook you dinner, , recite some poetry (Neruda?), rub your feet, and wait for the right moment to lean in and slowly kiss you. Yum!
hmm... already have done a scavenger hunt and pretty much everything that can be done with a roses/rose petals, (even made a contraption that threw petals into the air when she walked into the room).
this year plan on doing something also pretty cheesy, from my apartment room window (the 7th floor) you can see down onto the roof of some outdoor shops/stripmall probably grab a tarp, spray paint ' I <3 you' on it and then put it on the roof of the stores so she can see it when she comes over.
I'm going to be making a giant heart shaped cookie for my boyfriend, with candle's around it, and little bite size heart cookies, and then a nice relaxing bubble bath. :-) that's my valentines day plans for him. :-D

Go to a very large, very isolated, very still lake with nothing and no-one in sight for miles and miles. Walk slowly into the warm water and remove our clothes after getting in up to the neck. Swim around in circles touching occasionally.
Find a large rock to stand on, neck deep, taking turns holding and floating each other .
Finally leave the water, wrap a large fluffy blanket around us and feel the water slowly dripping off. Light a fire and watch the sun go down and stars come out.

I would bring you roses and take you out to a romantic spot near the water where we can sit in the moon light and watch the stars and walk around holding hands and i i would look into your beautiful eyes and kiss you to express my love.
When I proposed to my now wife in 2002 it was on valentine's day. even though it was winter (we lived on the east coast then) i took her to our favorite park near the beach and I carved our names on a tree and then I took her to more of our special spots and then I took her to a romantic italian eatery in the city and proposed to her before dessert. Every year on valentine's day since then when we lived on the east coast we went to visit our tree :)
I'm single now but, for me, I like doing really simple things: Watching old movies, a simple but tasty meal where no one has to work too hard. I think sweet and simple things are nice because there's no huge expectations that this will be a moment that will go in our lives scrapbook.(too much pressure.)
So maybe stay in our pajamas, have some hot chocolate, watch Monk, and eat cookies. ; )
This year I've made plans to drive us to her home city where there's a sweet spot on this hill that has a gorgeous panoramic view of the city, harbour and sky tower, once there we'll have a candlelit and/or moonlit picnic followed by slow dancing to a mixed CD I made (I'm going to bring a portable CD player), but play the last track acoustically because I've written it for her. Afterwards we'll stay up on the hill, cuddle, watch the stars and watch the sunrise. <3 <3 <3 :D

I would take the person out for dinner, somewhere nice possibly but i would aim for someplace with some type of significance. Like the place of our first date or a place we had a really go time at once.I think going to a lake or the ocean at sunset is where i would take them, or at least liked to be taken. like your painting, when you have to people who are really in love, all they see is colors. sunset on the beach in front of some water would be beautiful. Just stay there all night. perfect
This year I'll be spending a 3 day getaway with my newlywed. A funky placed called the "Robin Hood" with little WPA era cottages, a very nice gourmet restaurant, pub, and cold water beach. They have a special valentines day dinner, with handmade poems/pictures contributed by third graders. We still have an old one posted on our fridge "I love you the yellowest...".
This year im spending Valentines day in a not so romantic place! Im going to be watching the rugby!
But If i was to have a beautiful marshmallow valentines day it would have to be some where peaceful and quiet a bit like the painting where you can get lost in each others eyes or words! well, i think guys never really know. if a guy was all romantic with me, id really like it, but he needs to act more of himself. its really sweet, like you said, like a walk in the park. in the fall. its sweet and i know that people cannot pay attention to anyone else. the cutest thing a guys done for me, or a friend, is he bought her flowers when she was in bed and she didnt know he was coming over, than he told her to get dressed and he took her out to dinner!

Oh, and as much as I'd like to win your heart, Val? I'm not romantic enough. I once bought a Mapsco for a girlfriend, because I noticed her job and her errands were causing her to drive around a lot to places that were new to her and she'd often have to get directions. I figured it a practical thoughtful gift that showed I cared. She found it about as romantic as a bus splashing water on her. So as pretty as the heart painting is, I'm just not romantic enough to be in the running for it.
1. messing with the clocks is not romantic. it's annoying.
2. i don't care so much whether she can cook or not. I'm annoyed when she's a complicated order maker at restaurants.
3. patch on the eye is good. careful with the hook for a hand tho when groping. dangerous. 4. flowers belong in the ground. potted plant's a nice idea, but wilting flowers in a vase? I never get how that's romantic.
Well just the other day my friend was sick. We were supposed to go out together but she had to cancel. I bought her a bouquet of daisies and placed it in the mailbox. I called her and told her to go check her mail. She said they were the prettiest flowers she has ever gotten. I didn't want to be cliche and just give them to her and i didn't want to be cliche and buy roses. We love Daisies because we love the show Pushing Daisies. So it meant a lot to her.
One Valentines day I had to work and my boyfriend at the time surprised me on my lunch break with homemade cookies, big sunflowers (my fav), and lunch that he made for me. It was the cutest thing. After work, changing, and all that jazz... he took me to dinner and we had a nice walk on the beach.
We have a lot of international supermarkets around here - I like finding food that I've never tried before...
We also have a lot of snow around here... and I've always wanted to try building an igloo to see if it really can get warm inside. (I'm told that it will, but I don't believe it)

Last valentines day, my boyfriend and I had been going through a rough patch. We had just recently been getting over it, and so for valentines day he gave my sister a sealed letter and a hand made heart shaped pillow, and had her put them on my bed so I found them when I woke up in the morning. It was both the first and only love letter he has ever given me, because he has trouble expressing his feelings, and the first thing he ever sewed. I will treasure it always as the best gift I could get.
Hey Val. My son's father was very romantic. He was very sick and passed away seven years ago when our son was only 15 months. Three years later I was going through some things and found a Valentines card he bought for me before he died. It was even signed. This Xmas, I was cleaning out an old box and a poem he wrote me that I never read fell out. This week, I found an unfinished note from him telling me to move on and to be happy. I have moved on recently with my childhood sweetheart.
Ok my date would start in the night and we would go out onto a balcony and watch the stars the whole night and then wake up to see the sunrise. but while my girlfriend is asleep i would go down to the street below and with giant red letters cut from card board i would spell out, I LOVE YOU! BE MY VALENTINE!

okay . . . my romantic valentine's day ideas are coming from my 16 year old daughter's first boyfriend. They had their first date last night and he took her out to dinner. Afterward, he asked if she would like to take a night time stroll through the park and walk under the stars OR take a ride to the river to talk and watch the moon as it reached across the water! i would sit out side and talk to my bf on the phone and look at the stars while he sat on his roof (far far away) and look at the stars and we would tell eachother how much we miss eachother and couldn't wait to see eachother, but that wasn't on valentines day..now i call it valum-time's day because i need to numb the pain because i never have anyone on valentines day and my bf was sent away :(.
Real love is hard to find. Someone who'll really be with you "until death do we part." But for most of the world, "until paperwork do we part." Regardless, Valentines Day is one of those days where I stop and think. I don't want to become one of those people. I know that special someone is out there. I just have to find him. It reminds me of a song.
I would take her to watch that one movie Benjamin Button. And then I would simply read to her all 20 poems of Neruda, in Spanish, and in the softest voice I can... whispering in her ear. Of course, for this three things are needed. One, for the girl to love that movie. Second, for the girl to understand Spanish. Third, for you to have a smooth voice like mine lol.
Hmmm... Go flying just before sunset, just the two of us, so we can watch it set together. (If you haven't seen the sunset from the air before... it's amazing, there is nothing else quite like it. i would drive my girlfriend (if i had one (maybe i will on valentines day)^^) up a hill near my house. up there is a lookoutpoint where we would watch the sunset... and i would play Nothing Else Matters on my guitar.. and who knows what happens then.. :D

I live in Dublin, and my ex lived in London. On Valentines, she was coming from Paris trip with her sister. So I came to London train station to pick her up. She was very surprised, and very happy. We had lunch with her dad and sister, and went to sleep over my friends house. In the morning we broke my friends couch, but we had very nice time together..
my husband once took me to the zoo on valentines day but its not what you think in the aquarium here in Omaha you can walk through an area where the aquarium surrounds you and the zoo set up tables for valentines day in this area for dinner.
My wife and I have 2 kids...life is non-stop...crazy even...what I do on Valentines Day is I stop her, look into her eyes, and I mean LOOK into her eyes, and try to tell her how much she means to me, and how much I'M IN LOVE WITH HER...and I am in love with her after 20 years...even more now! Flowers and a dinner out for the 2 of us goes with the exclamation, of course.
I don't know what to do for my boyfriend this year, but I wanted to tell you the most romantic thing ever...I lived in china about 5 years ago and my boyfriend at the time and I lived together with our little dog...I used to teach so my boyfriend would go to uni and look after the dog. one day he rushed to pick me up and told me we had to run home he forgot to feed the dog all day! i was a bit annoyed but when we got home he had lit everywhere candles and didnt want the house to burn down haha!
I am still a high school student, so it's kind of hard to do romantic thing. However, i would not have revealed myself to this person, until after all of this. what i would do, is lead her on a scavenger hunt type of thing. I would secretly leave a rose in all of my special someone's classes before any one is in school, along with bits of poetic clues. And at the end of the day all of the clues would lead her to the location where i would be awaiting her response, and her love :)
Well, i have a couple of idea to do for my significant other for valentines day. The one that i was planning on doing this Valentines day was to take her out to an Italian restaurant. (there is a very good one near where i live) then i was going to rent out a movie theatre and have her favorite movie on the big screen. After that i was going to bring her to the beach to lay under the stars. :D. well i hope you like it that is just one of my ideas for valentines day :).

Val- Actually, I think many colors are more vibrant when it's raining, if the objects are relatively close. The refreshing, cleansing action on rain on foliage, and the smell of rain are amongst my favorite moments in life.
Don't get me wrong. From one artist to another, I very much like your painting, well all of them I've seen so far. At the risk of sound patronizing, daring to do unusual/unexpected things in your paintings is what gives your art intrinsic value.

btw-I think you're single for the same reason I'm am. There's no reason for you to settle for someone you don't think AND feel is the right one. You're highly independent and philosophically intellectual. Most guys can't handle that. Most guys want to have the control/power in the relationship, for you to be their source of pride and subserviant to their desires. Most guys will ultimately stifle your artistic creativity. That would be a terrible waste to see your talent tainted like that.

I am a single dad and had to work on V-day. I did take the time to bring my daughter flowers and candy! Only being 8 she loved the candy more than the flowers. I would love to hop on a plane (where ever you are Val?) and walk with you in that park (in the rain) and find a place where we can just sit down and have a simple conversation and lunch under a tree. With everyone running around us just to get out of the rain but you and I in the center watching it all. Did I tell u I and a good cook?

The perfect valentines date and the way to win your heart is by first reciting shakespeare's wonder-full words of love, which one must diligently memorize. also an oragami heart made by yours truly with a dozen crimson venus fly traps (potted) and a romantic candle lit beach side picnic with some vino. the night would begin with an acoustic rendition of a lovely belle and sebastian tune and a stroll under the pier. it is then back to the loft and a slow dance to "this magic moment" and a cuddle.

I've never had a romantic Valentine's Day :( I was hoping to have one this year but my girlfriend broke up with me... :( so I'll have to wait until next year... this year I will be lonely once again, woe is me. I had plans to bring my girlfriend flowers and have a candle lit dinner with her, but now my plans are in smoke. Instead I get to work on Valentine's Day! This sucks.

(part 2) I then put everything in a gift bag, brought it to the salon. I prepaid for his hair cut (plus tip) and asked the stylist to only tell him once he was done that his cut had been taken care of. I also asked that she give him the gift bag. I hope it was a great surprise for him (especially being the day before V-day). A lot of thought went into it and he deserves it! I hope to one day win (back) his heart....I am a sucker for fairy tale ending!!! :)

I truly love this guy. He was getting his hair cut tonight, so I decided to surprise him. He is a Superman fan and likes the idea of being strong and helping others etc. So, I was able to find a place in town that has these Superman cookies..really cute. So I bought one, then got some of his favourite treats at the health food store. Instead of a Valentine's Day card, I was lucky to find a Superman card...in it I wrote that he was my Superman...cheesy, maybe - but it comes from the heart.

What I would do if I wasn't working Valentines day is take my wife for a drive along the coast of victoria stopping off at a nice beach and having a picnic lunch. Then after a long walk on the beach I would then drive on to Melbourne and take her to visit the zoo followed by yum cha in the city at a nice chinese restaurant. When I take her home I would finish up with a box of chocolates and present and the rest is to your imagination.

When my girlfriend fell asleep I rearranged the furniture and taped wires and hoses to her and put a towel around her head, then woke her. She asked, what's going on? I showed her a 2010 Newsday (Photoshop) and told her she's been in a comma for a year, I said I needed to move on then showed her baby pictures and told her they were my kids. The best flowers to give a women are not red roses as most people think. It's orchids like the one that val has. The represent (pardon my spelling, I'm horrible at it) sophestication, femininity, their unique and are not common. They will cost a pretty penny, more then roses but they last longer and mean so much more.

hmm... already have done a scavenger hunt and pretty much everything that can be done with a roses/rose petals, (even made a contraption that threw petals into the air when she walked into the room).
this year plan on doing something also pretty cheesy, from my apartment room window (the 7th floor) you can see down onto the roof of some outdoor shops/stripmall probably grab a tarp, spray paint ' I <3 you' on it and then put it on the roof of the stores so she can see it when she comes over.

Go to a very large, very isolated, very still lake with nothing and no-one in sight for miles and miles. Walk slowly into the warm water and remove our clothes after getting in up to the neck. Swim around in circles touching occasionally.
Find a large rock to stand on, neck deep, taking turns holding and floating each other .
Finally leave the water, wrap a large fluffy blanket around us and feel the water slowly dripping off. Light a fire and watch the sun go down and stars come out.

When I proposed to my now wife in 2002 it was on valentine's day. even though it was winter (we lived on the east coast then) i took her to our favorite park near the beach and I carved our names on a tree and then I took her to more of our special spots and then I took her to a romantic italian eatery in the city and proposed to her before dessert. Every year on valentine's day since then when we lived on the east coast we went to visit our tree :)

I think sweet and simple things are nice because there's no huge expectations that this will be a moment that will go in our lives scrapbook.(too much pressure.)

This year I've made plans to drive us to her home city where there's a sweet spot on this hill that has a gorgeous panoramic view of the city, harbour and sky tower, once there we'll have a candlelit and/or moonlit picnic followed by slow dancing to a mixed CD I made (I'm going to bring a portable CD player), but play the last track acoustically because I've written it for her. Afterwards we'll stay up on the hill, cuddle, watch the stars and watch the sunrise. <3 <3 <3 :D

I would take the person out for dinner, somewhere nice possibly but i would aim for someplace with some type of significance. Like the place of our first date or a place we had a really go time at once.I think going to a lake or the ocean at sunset is where i would take them, or at least liked to be taken. like your painting, when you have to people who are really in love, all they see is colors. sunset on the beach in front of some water would be beautiful. This year I'll be spending a 3 day getaway with my newlywed. A funky placed called the "Robin Hood" with little WPA era cottages, a very nice gourmet restaurant, pub, and cold water beach. They have a special valentines day dinner, with handmade poems/pictures contributed by third graders. We still have an old one posted on our fridge "I love you the yellowest...".

Oh, and as much as I'd like to win your heart, Val? I'm not romantic enough. I once bought a Mapsco for a girlfriend, because I noticed her job and her errands were causing her to drive around a lot to places that were new to her and she'd often have to get directions. I figured it a practical thoughtful gift that showed I cared. She found it about as romantic as a bus splashing water on her. So as pretty as the heart painting is, I'm just not romantic enough to be in the running for it.

Well just the other day my friend was sick. We were supposed to go out together but she had to cancel. I bought her a bouquet of daisies and placed it in the mailbox. I called her and told her to go check her mail. She said they were the prettiest flowers she has ever gotten. I didn't want to be cliche and just give them to her and i didn't want to be cliche and buy roses. We love Daisies because we love the show Pushing Daisies. So it meant a lot to her.

One Valentines day I had to work and my boyfriend at the time surprised me on my lunch break with homemade cookies, big sunflowers (my fav), and lunch that he made for me. It was the cutest thing. After work, changing, and all that jazz... he took me to dinner and we had a nice walk on the beach.

We have a lot of international supermarkets around here - I like finding food that I've never tried before...
We also have a lot of snow around here... and I've always wanted to try building an igloo to see if it really can get warm inside. (I'm told that it will, but I don't believe it)
Maybe it would be fun to have an exotic dinner while shivering in a cold, wet igloo.

Last valentines day, my boyfriend and I had been going through a rough patch. We had just recently been getting over it, and so for valentines day he gave my sister a sealed letter and a hand made heart shaped pillow, and had her put them on my bed so I found them when I woke up in the morning. It was both the first and only love letter he has ever given me, because he has trouble expressing his feelings, and the first thing he ever sewed. I will treasure it always as the best gift I could get.

Hey Val. My son's father was very romantic. He was very sick and passed away seven years ago when our son was only 15 months. Three years later I was going through some things and found a Valentines card he bought for me before he died. It was even signed. This Xmas, I was cleaning out an old box and a poem he wrote me that I never read fell out. This week, I found an unfinished note from him telling me to move on and to be happy. I have moved on recently with my childhood sweetheart.

Ok my date would start in the night and we would go out onto a balcony and watch the stars the whole night and then wake up to see the sunrise. but while my girlfriend is asleep i would go down to the street below and with giant red letters cut from card board i would spell out, I LOVE YOU! BE MY VALENTINE!

okay . . . my romantic valentine's day ideas are coming from my 16 year old daughter's first boyfriend. They had their first date last night and he took her out to dinner. Afterward, he asked if she would like to take a night time stroll through the park and walk under the stars OR take a ride to the river to talk and watch the moon as it reached across the water! Isn't young love grand???!!!

i would sit out side and talk to my bf on the phone and look at the stars while he sat on his roof (far far away) and look at the stars and we would tell eachother how much we miss eachother and couldn't wait to see eachother, but that wasn't on valentines day..now i call it valum-time's day because i need to numb the pain because i never have anyone on valentines day and my bf was sent away :(.

Real love is hard to find. Someone who'll really be with you "until death do we part." But for most of the world, "until paperwork do we part." Regardless, Valentines Day is one of those days where I stop and think. I don't want to become one of those people. I know that special someone is out there. I just have to find him. It reminds me of a song.

I would take her to watch that one movie Benjamin Button. And then I would simply read to her all 20 poems of Neruda, in Spanish, and in the softest voice I can... whispering in her ear. Of course, for this three things are needed. One, for the girl to love that movie. Second, for the girl to understand Spanish. Third, for you to have a smooth voice like mine lol.

Hmmm... Go flying just before sunset, just the two of us, so we can watch it set together. (If you haven't seen the sunset from the air before... it's amazing, there is nothing else quite like it. Seeing it from the ground doesn't compare. Try it someday Val, I think you'll find the colours to be very impressive. Maybe even worthy of a painting... ;))

i would drive my girlfriend (if i had one (maybe i will on valentines day)^^) up a hill near my house. up there is a lookoutpoint where we would watch the sunset... and i would play Nothing Else Matters on my guitar.. and who knows what happens then.. :D

Val ,Valentines day is so hard for me my son that died of cancer 4 years ago his birthday was Valentines day. That heart would remind me to smile and think of good things and how much your videos make me smile, thanks.

I live in Dublin, and my ex lived in London. On Valentines, she was coming from Paris trip with her sister. So I came to London train station to pick her up. She was very surprised, and very happy. We had lunch with her dad and sister, and went to sleep over my friends house. In the morning we broke my friends couch, but we had very nice time together..

my husband once took me to the zoo on valentines day but its not what you think in the aquarium here in Omaha you can walk through an area where the aquarium surrounds you and the zoo set up tables for valentines day in this area for dinner.

My wife and I have 2 kids...life is non-stop...crazy even...what I do on Valentines Day is I stop her, look into her eyes, and I mean LOOK into her eyes, and try to tell her how much she means to me, and how much I'M IN LOVE WITH HER...and I am in love with her after 20 years...even more now! Flowers and a dinner out for the 2 of us goes with the exclamation, of course.

I don't know what to do for my boyfriend this year, but I wanted to tell you the most romantic thing ever...I lived in china about 5 years ago and my boyfriend at the time and I lived together with our little dog...I used to teach so my boyfriend would go to uni and look after the dog. one day he rushed to pick me up and told me we had to run home he forgot to feed the dog all day! i was a bit annoyed but when we got home he had lit everywhere candles and didnt want the house to burn down haha!

I am still a high school student, so it's kind of hard to do romantic thing. However, i would not have revealed myself to this person, until after all of this. what i would do, is lead her on a scavenger hunt type of thing. I would secretly leave a rose in all of my special someone's classes before any one is in school, along with bits of poetic clues. And at the end of the day all of the clues would lead her to the location where i would be awaiting her response, and her love :)

Well, i have a couple of idea to do for my significant other for valentines day. The one that i was planning on doing this Valentines day was to take her out to an Italian restaurant. (there is a very good one near where i live) then i was going to rent out a movie theatre and have her favorite movie on the big screen. After that i was going to bring her to the beach to lay under the stars. :D. well i hope you like it that is just one of my ideas for valentines day :).
