Because Ra Ra Riot is such an awesome band, and shes only there to rock out and make music with the guys, but all the men in the crowd are watching the smokin hot mysterious dark skinned babe rock out on the cello in tight hippy shit outfits while she is left looking not increeeedibly attractive and playing a not nearly as cool instrument.

@jibsjaystunescgy I met them the whole band after one their shows, and the cello player, Alexandra isn't all that great, Rebecca on the other hand rocked the violin, she was a sweetheart, and much more beautiful in person. And she got plenty of attention, so don't feel bad for her.

Im really hoping to see this band live one day. Its just an opinion, but their live performances/recordings seem to capture the energy of their sound more so than the album versions. who wouldnt prefer playing live than to be cooped up in a studio somewhere. ra ra riot ra ra rules!

Live it's really hard to hear the girls voice. Which sucks because she has an amazingly beautiful rhythm in the songs.

sounds like everything, vocals and instruments, were designated separate channels. A lot of tweaking probably went down post production. it's mixed really well.

Studio work is often take after take of layered audio to create a more dynamic sound

this band just really seem to love playing together as a unit

even thought they were probably what... about 20bpm off from the album recording it still merged together beautifully. Love the contrast with the violins at the end.

i definitely agree. they played at my college last week, and while the cd is still great, it doesn't nearly compare to the live show. they're on tour with deathcab right if you want to see them, but i think the tour is almost over.
