Back in high school I had a friend who's parents had a pet deer. It thought it was just one of the dogs. Every time someone would come to their house the dogs would run and bark and the deer was right there with them. I didn't like to touch or pet the deer though. It was always really sticky feeling and smelled bad. I thought they were kind of crazy for having pet deer. They are wild animals and are supposed to live in the wild.

You probably know nothing about deer. Deer don't sit and wrestle, they run away. Wild deer will run the moment they even see or hear you coming, and they are VERY fast and agile and can hide very well also. If the deer and the dog didn't have a good relationship (probably started when the deer was born or close to it) then the deer would shoot off like a bullet.
