If you want more of a challenge, there exists an Aoshima model with full engine detail. From the looks of it, some parts may be interchangeable as it's nothing more than the regular AE86 kits with the rest of the engine thrown in.
Thankyou Jack :) These cars (in 1:1) were v.popular here in NZ as used Japanese imports in the 1990s - now the Japanese themselves are rediscovering them!
Thankyou! The paint was a lottery, particularly as I sprayed Spraykote over Plastikote, two brands where the paint often reacts when one is sprayed over the other - also, it was flat black that I used, with plenty of clearcoat!
Thankyou! For me I build wherever there is space available - I do all models outside (when theres no rain or snow!) or in the garage with the door open...
I used to spray paint the bulk of the cars either outside or in the garage ( back north) and then do the detail painting at my hobby desk in my room.
I had planned on setting up shop out in our screened in porch- but it gets way too hot out there- i have too much lawntractor stuff out in my shed to paint out there.
Thankyou! Looking through your vids, and your muscle car projects are giving me much inspiration for future American models that have unbuilt at present...

Nice job- ive herd of that series ' Initial D'- never seen it tho.
I have some diecast tuner cars- bot em cause they looked cool plus were on clearance :) I think i have a couple plastic kits around somewhere as well.
I need to get back into building plastic kits sometime- just dont have anywhere to do it.
