Props for being half-Dutch and +1 for actually appreciating it. Oh, and the Dutch food is not awesome, it's been the same since the year 1100. Just consists of cooked potatoes, meat, and vegetables (and not the nice ones:D)

Potatoes were brought over to Europe by the Spanish from South America and became popular amongst the starving lower-class, so that's kind of impossible, but I believe you about the meat and vegetables.

Mooiste taal in Nederlands is Twents. Groningen, drents, achterhoek, Veluws gaat nog.. maar Twents). Nedersaksisch Geen harde rot GGG of eind-r. Geen inslikken van eind-n maar lekker duidelijk.

Don`t worry about your Dutch, you try and have fun with it, so whats there to apologize for. :) Its nice how you show an interest in your heritage (is that the right word?).

BTW, anybody here ever heard the American footbal (soccer actually) player John O'Brien speak Dutch? That sounds perfect! Really amazing, it must be a pretty hard language for Americans, as I have learned from watching the clip "Het Nederlandse Accent."

Hmm, dat zeg je nu wel zo makkelijk, maar er zijn zat andere voetballers te noemen die lang in Nederland spelen en toch niet zo goed Nederlands spreken.

Normaal gesproken zijn het vooral Scandinavische spelers die het snel oppikken, niet Amerikanen of Engelsers bijvoorbeeld. Maar goed John kwam al jong naar Nederland, toch blijft het knap, vrijwel accentloos. Als ik hem niet had gekend en hij had gezegd ik kom uit Laren had ik hem zo geloofd. :)

Ja, sommige mensen pikken het snel op. Volgens mijn lerares Frans kon ik accentloos Frans spreken (en zij was Française) en ik vind talen ook leuk n_n

Dat vind ik wel indrukwekkend, veel hangt ook af van of het je interesse heeft en als je uit een klein land komt, is die interesse misschien van nature al groter. Het is toch wel een leuke bonus als je een worodje over de grens spreekt, zeker in Frankrijk, waar veel mensen de moeite niet eens nemen over te gaan op Engels. :)

Ohh dat over het engels overgaan valt wel mee, ik doe mee aan een Frans uitwisselingsprogramma en ze spreken echt wel engels hoor ^^

In mijn vakantiejaren bij de meesten alleen als je ze dwong, maar ik ben blij dat het nu beter is. Maar ik gaf ook wel erg stereotyp beeld weer van de Fransen. Zo zwart wit is het natuurlijk ook niet, maar op vakantie kwam het toch wel vaak voor. Dat ze Engels spreken weet ik, maar deden ze het dus maar wat vaker. ;-)
