  • Very helpful. I have macbook pro intel core duo from 07. Snow Leopard. I used Aimersoft dvd creator a few times successfully, and now it crashes my computer. Shuts it completely off. I was told my computer can't handle it. Why would it be fine the first few times then? I was thinking of upgrading the RAM to help with the processing speed so it won't crash. Think that will fix it? If it has 2g (stock) now, can I put in 2 - 2G cards and have 4G total? I'm such a newbie to this stuff.

  • Where u get the battery's

  • I HAVE A QUESTION, I HAVE THE SAME MACBOOK PRO, CAN I INSTALL 2 memory ram of 4gb (total 8gb) is compatible? or not

  • @crowas89 Yeah 8gb is compatible

  • @Fperez28B Mine is from 2006, i tried to put 4gb to my mac and when i installed the memory ram my screen of my mac become black,,, :/

  • @crowas89 Is it working now? I'm not sure but changing the RAM memory shouldn't affect much, if I'm not wrong the operative systems of nowadays allow RAM memory expansion without the need to re-install the OS. Maybe your RAM was defective?

  • @crowas89 Did you check how much RAM your system can handle? Go to Edge's memory configurator to see.

  • @crowas89 I'm having the same problem. Once i remove the new memory module it works fine. Now the question is...is there something wrong with the memory module or should i go to an apple specialist? how did you fix this problem?

  • @crowas89 Check Edge's memory configurator. It should tell you how much RAM your system supports.

  • Thanks Drew! You saved me $40.

  • Touching an isolated metal door handle in a wooden door will not necessarily discharge your static as by definition that handle is not earthed.

  • i think i may have just fucked my computer. i pulled my ram out to see what kind of ram it is, because im thinking of purchasing another. i pulled it out like the videos show, with rubber gloves on to avoid static , checked the ram and put it back in... now the light is flashing on the front of my computer... wtf man? what the fuck.....

  • how would i do this on a 13 inch unibody?

  • Can I go higher than 4 GB?

  • What is the max memory for this MBP?

    6gb possible?

  • i have a macbook with 2gb i wanne replace it with 4 gb may i use evry mark ?

i am sorry for my bead inglisch i am dutch and am 15 years old so i do not speak inglisch verry wel

  • This tutorial is almost perfect. My girlfriend installed RAM using this video, and then when she turned on her computer it didn't work at all. After 20 minutes of sobbing she found that inside her Mac it said to install the RAM at a 25 degree angle. As soon as she did that the RAM clicked in and her computer worked. I suggest an update to the video to better idiot-proof the tutorial before my comment gets covered up.

  • LMFAO i used a knife, instead of a screwdriver

  • Take your chance and win macbook air. Check out macbook7 . c0m!

  • Thank you so much!

  • Thank You, I was going to pay some one do that for me. Now Im going to doit my self

  • wicked... does it matter if the memories are from different companies.. IE.. one mac .. and one from a website

  • That was great help! Thank you.

  • so is Apple in the USA

  • yes apple is an american company but some of the products are designed in california but assembled in china

  • well, thanks for your compassion! I was lucky to have a good friend which is really into Apple memory stuff. She showed me that I really have to push it hard into the bin. Nobody mentioned that before - I was pushing them too soft...

  • HELP - I did it the way you just showed - but now my computer is not starting any more. HELP

  • lol put the battery back in

  • thank you so much for the great help!

  • probably static elektrisity.

  • Can someone please help put my mind to rest? I upgraded from 2GB to 4GB, but the 1st module didn't "click" into place. The 2nd one did. My macbook pro recognizes the 4GB, so everything seems to be fine. I'm just paranoid because I didn't hear the distinctive "click" with that one module. I already tried taking it out and reinstalling it. Thanks.

  • don't worry about it.

  • Check your 'System Profiler' utility ((on the taskbar)  -> About this mac -> More Info...) and look at the Hardware overview. It will explicitly show you the RAM recognized.

  • thx man.. this video helps me!

  • hey thanks i just checked it out place is awsome. so my next question what kind of hard drive are in these ide/ata or are they sata. my model is the same exact computer as that one this one and was bought in august of 2007. please someone help me out.

  • i like it just need to find out if serial ata is the same as sata then i will be set lol cause i think im gonna order a new hd off of there and im gonna order a new graphics card

  • yeah Sata its Serial ATA... the same thing ;-]

  • thanks alot bro

  • THX, that was helpful

  • nice clean tutorial but since most of the MBPs ship with 2 1gb sticks it would have been very helpful to show how to get the sticks out w/o breaking nething

  • You press the notches holding the memory outward and the memory pops up, then very carefully slide it out.

For inserting memory insert the memory very gently at a 25 degree angle until you feel in fit into place, then press down on the memory so it's flat and the notches will snap it into place.

  • @jf713jf What you do is put your fingers on the two metal tabs on each side and push them away from the memory. Then the memory will pop up at a 45 degree angle and you pull them out at that angle gently. Hope I helped. There are plenty of videos showing it just in case.

  • Great vid!

  • Thanks man..

  • cheers

  • thanks, great tutorial... even tho the whole process is quite self explanatory

  • sweet! this is very helpful...
