Well, i am a belly dancer since 1993, and i would call myself "quite pretty experienced". But nevertheless, i bought this dvd (although it is titled as "for beginners"), and it is a pocketful of nice gimmicks, hints and tricks every dancer should know. So thank you for producing this dvd and sharing your experience!

Does anybody know how long each segment should be? I know Entrance would be fairly short obviously and would blend in with the veil work. Then the veil work would flow into the "party" segment, and so on and so forth. I know they need to have a certain length limit and minimum, and that would help me greatly. :)

The typical show is about 20 min., so each segment is 3 to 5 min., depending on the length of the songs you are using.

okay, thank you so much :) I was looking for something that could help me with the order of the show and time. I knew that if it is too long or too short the audience might not like it, but 20 mins does sound like a good number :D

Veil work is beautiful but it does matter how heavy the veil is. If it's too heavy it's not going to flow like it should. Our troup tried heavier veils and it didn't work out or look right. FYI

The veil routein was beautiful!! ...but why did you not use a heavier veil to "catch wind" in your movements? It could have billowed and fluttered, instead of sinking into your movements. Heavier veils float on air when used properly! I would love to see you use one! I am also going to buy your CD...and use it with my heavier veil, ha ha. I especially like working with double toreador (3/4 circle veils). If they are heavy enough, you can throw them in the air and catch and swing. Amazing!
