I see Sonic's cycle like us, growing up! Think about it: His Glory Days was in his infancy and childhood..Then when he reached 13 years old that's when Heroes came.. he hit puberty. And puberty gets UGLY. Lots of growing pains. Well like so many teenagers, Sonic's rebellious puberty followed him throughout 06, and the storybook series..even Unleashed. Then once he hit his last teenage year (19), Colors came out. Now that he's 20 with Generations, he's a MAN and has matured with good games.

Sonic heroes wasnt bad. Seriously, it wasnt bad at all. I thought it was pretty good.
Sonic and the secret rings could have been better f not for the lame controls for it. Sonic 06 had SO MUCH POTENTIAL but sega just had to RUSH IT ! The music was great, the story was good, omg solaris phase 2 theme was so epic but that game was like 60% finished yet they released it any way. I really wish they would remake it into a finished 100% version.

Adventure will forever be underrated in my opinion. Yes, Big fucked it up. But it was still a great game.
Adventure 2 was a great game, a bit overrated but nonetheless the best sonic 3D sonic game.
Heroes honestly could have been a GREAT game. But with it lacking so much (unlockable teams, extremely repetitive, and having to unlock 2P modes for starters) it fell short.

Sonic Heroes was a really good game. It continues few months later after the events of Sonic Adventure 2 (which sonic fans really liked) The gameplay could have been improved though. The game that kinda killed the series was Sonic 06 due to it's glitchyness and confusing storyline. Few years later, Colors came out, and sonic fans actually enjoyed it. His golden redemption,Generations,made fans enjoy the stages from his classic to modern times. Bad or good, he's still unstoppable after 20 years:)

@crazyboyz313 You've got that backwards. Sonic Heroes sucked, then almost every game after that did, too. Then, along came Sonic Colours, and saved the franchise.
@Forthelemon but Sonic Heroes doesn't suck, (ok a little bit, but still a very good game) but the Sonic Riders series doesn't suck sure Zero Gravity and Free Riders were bad, but the first one is still good and no one even complained about it, Sonic Riders Series FTW.
Plus, even though most games suck, but we still like playing them, we don't hate Sonic, it's just Sega needs to learn from their mistakes and then come up a way to catch up to Mario.
@Forthelemon you know Sonic Adventure got a score of 3.5 out of 10 by IGN and other reviewers give it a lowest score when it's released in the arcade. I say to them, "YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE" cause they've gone too far, sonic adventure is great i played it and completed to stories easily.
@BluRacer7 Sonic adventure was a good game. Perhaps not perfect by today's standards, but it deserves more than a 3.5. It should get at least 6/10, maybe 7. In it's time, it would have been more like an 8. Then sonic adventure 2 was a lot better.

Its awesome to see that sonic the Hedgehog is slowly gaining back his respect. His last three titles (Colours,Generations and Sonci 4) have actually all been great games.
Generations is awesome! My cousin liked it a lot, and he said that he really cared more for the games Pre-Adventure (he likes the Chao, though), so having classic spins on levels was great. He also really liked both version of City Escape. :D

Sonic Unleashed barely qualified as good, Sonic and the black knight and secret rings were grasping to be "just ok". I always have been objective with my opinions of sonic, I supported him on his good and bad times, and up till sonic generations no main sonic game was more than "just ok". I even leaded the biggest sonic comunity in spanish for 8 years for crist´s sake.
That is just an opinion. It is not a fact that it is a bad game. For me 06 was good, Sonic Unleashed was pretty good, Shadow the Hedgehog was good for a spin off game, Secret Rings was atrocious, Black Knight was ok, Colors was good, and Generations was great.
And what does that have to do with this conversation? I'm not saying that you aren't a real fan, I'm just saying that the series didn't fall downhill so badly that the fanbase should be such retards all the time.

Secondly Sonic Team clealy doesn't consider 06 a mistake because they featured a level from it in Sonic Generations while they didn't for games they do consider a mistake (Secret Rings and Black Knight). Sonic X lasted the longest, was the most successful, was the most popular, and had the most episodes out of all of the TV shows. Chris was well received in Japan therefore they don't consider him a mistake.

@Forthelemon but Sonic Heroes doesn't suck, (ok a little bit, but still a very good game) but the Sonic Riders series doesn't suck sure Zero Gravity and Free Riders were bad, but the first one is still good and no one even complained about it, Sonic Riders Series FTW.
Plus, even though most games suck, but we still like playing them, we don't hate Sonic, it's just Sega needs to learn from their mistakes and then come up a way to catch up to Mario.

@Forthelemon you know Sonic Adventure got a score of 3.5 out of 10 by IGN and other reviewers give it a lowest score when it's released in the arcade. I say to them, "YOU HAVE CROSSED THE LINE" cause they've gone too far, sonic adventure is great i played it and completed to stories easily.

@BluRacer7 Sonic adventure was a good game. Perhaps not perfect by today's standards, but it deserves more than a 3.5. It should get at least 6/10, maybe 7. In it's time, it would have been more like an 8. Then sonic adventure 2 was a lot better.
Sonic heroes was just plain awful.

If someone has an opinion about something and it's not a very popular one (ie disagreed by the majority), then it is best to keep that opinion to oneself. @Perfect7en I'll us myself as an example. I really liked Sonic Heroes.IMO, I think it is a great Sonic game and I believe it's one of the better 3D Sonic games. However, I understand that reviewers and the Sonic fanbase are very mixed about the game (there are those who love it, like it, neutral, didn't like it, or hate it) & I'm perfectly fine with all those opinions. None of us are truly right because opinions ARE NOT facts and none of us should try to establish our opinions as facts.

Generations is awesome! My cousin liked it a lot, and he said that he really cared more for the games Pre-Adventure (he likes the Chao, though), so having classic spins on levels was great. He also really liked both version of City Escape. :D
Me? I love the whole thing! I have all the games it revisits other than Sonic Color, since I don't have a Wii or DS, so it was neat to get a taste of that game too.

@pkstarstorm1up sonic 2006 was one of the worst games i ever played, sonic heroes and shadow where mediocre at best. Sonic Unleashed barely qualified as good, Sonic and the black knight and secret rings were grasping to be "just ok". I always have been objective with my opinions of sonic, I supported him on his good and bad times, and up till sonic generations no main sonic game was more than "just ok". I even leaded the biggest sonic comunity in spanish for 8 years for crist´s sake.

That is just an opinion. It is not a fact that it is a bad game. For me 06 was good, Sonic Unleashed was pretty good, Shadow the Hedgehog was good for a spin off game, Secret Rings was atrocious, Black Knight was ok, Colors was good, and Generations was great.
And what does that have to do with this conversation? I'm not saying that you aren't a real fan, I'm just saying that the series didn't fall downhill so badly that the fanbase should be such retards all the time.

The only 2 good handheld games are Sonic Advance and Sonic Advance 3. Sonic Advance 2, the Rush games, and Colors are all just okay for the same reasons that Unleashed is in my opinion.

@Perfect7en First off it's only natural to defend something that you like. Secondly Sonic Team clealy doesn't consider 06 a mistake because they featured a level from it in Sonic Generations while they didn't for games they do consider a mistake (Secret Rings and Black Knight). Sonic X lasted the longest, was the most successful, was the most popular, and had the most episodes out of all of the TV shows. Chris was well received in Japan therefore they don't consider him a mistake.

If they thought that it was a mistake then they wouldn't have included it in the first place. Also I've done my research. Several of the Japanese reviews for Sonic X taked about how they liked Chris because of how cute and lovable he is.

They state them in the Japanese reviews of Sonic X so unless you can read Japanese you are out of luck.
